  • On its 2nd week, global leaders at #COP27 continue to negotiate on the actions needed to tackle the #ClimateCrisis. Meanwhile, the impacts of climate change have been strongly felt throughout the Philippines.
Derek shares her story of how two separate extreme weather events affected both her homes - a home in Marikina frequently threatened by floods and a home in Bataan where intense heat caused droughts and affected food production. But beyond these physical impacts, climate-related events have also taken a toll on people’s mental health, such as depression and climate anxiety.
This series of short videos entitled “Our health in today’s climate: Stories from the Philippines” is part of the Planetary and Global Health Program’s awareness raising campaigns for #ClimateHealth, supported by the Adaptation Research Alliance and the University of California-San Francisco.
