Lennon-McCartney In My Life. Göran Söllscher guitar

- In My Life was first released in December 1965 on The Beatles LP ’Rubber Soul’
In the middle of the song there is a piano solo in baroque style that was recorded in half speed by their producer Sir George Martin.
John Lennon wrote the text but we don’t really
seem to know whether John or Paul wrote the music.
I was inspired to do my arrangement after listening to a version where Sean Connery recites the song in a very slow and beautiful version.
Guitar by Per Hallgren
Gives old school Final Fantasy town music vibes.
👍
Sir Paul would be proud, absolutely brilliant.
Thanks a lot 🎵
lovely playing, and a very nice arrangement. So many fine details in the expression, the technique level here is very impressive.
I cannot express how wonderful this is. Brought a tear to my eye.
Thanks a lot 🎵🎵🎵
This is so beautiful, wow! Thank you for sharing! Now I must go find the Sean Connery recital you mentioned! Have a wonderful weekend, as always I wish health and happiness to you and your family. Until next time!
Thanks and wish you the same 🎵
The so called 50 greatest guitarists could not come close to this wonderful musician.
that’s really kind of you - thanks 🎶
It had never occurred to me that there was a baroque piece in the middle! Beautiful interpretation - as ever.
Thanks 🎵
This is the most beautiful sound I've ever heard, big hug. with all the best wishes.
Thank you so much my friend 🎵
What a wonderful arrangement of a Beatles classic. Particularly liked your interpretation of the piano solo which I believe was made to sound like a harpsichord on the original version by speeding it up.
Thanks a lot 🎶 I actually played this song together with Sir George Martin and a symphony orchestra many years ago.
And he showed me on the piano how to play that middle part. It was a special feeling…..
Sensitive as always, brilliant👍👍👍🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵
thanks 🎶🎶🎶

GREAT ARRANGEMENT ! We don't know what is classical music//pop music. MUSIC only ! and good music, THANK'S Göran !
Glad to hear - thanks 🎶
What a lovely ending!
Thanks 🎵
Masterful. You are a treasure! I love the intimacy of the youtube setting. It's like sitting right there getting a private recital.
I can see that you are literally singing through your instrument. I think many of us are engaging whatever brain neural pathways go for singing when we play our instruments. My brother and I, when we were kids, used to play Bach chorales this way: he played the bass on cello, sang the tenor, I sang the alto, played the soprano on violin. It was really hard! My voice kept trying to go where the violin was and vice versa.
What a wonderful story-thanks🎶
Wow! Congratulations on that very beautiful arrangement and playing! I love the slower tempo, that makes that song/piece more intensive, and the middlepart in baroque style.
It's great!
Greetings from Vienna,
Marianne

I got your ’12 British Songs’ edition Gendai Guitar last year. I was moved by your performance. I would like to keep practicing. Though I am still new to the guitar, my dream is to play Beatles’ songs as a classical guitarist.

I always find this song moving. Recall that John Lennon lost his birthmother, who had come into his life again and gave him his first guitar, and encouraged him at a difficult moment in his young life. "Some are gone and some are living...". Lennon knew the pain of loss early on. McCartney was most often the better melody writer. Maybe this is one of their later, true collaborations. McCartney was there when Lennon's mother died. Who knows, but this is the story I like to tell myself.
That’s a beautiful story - thanks for telling! I didn’t know. And this song has always been one of my favourites.
yep, and also: Lennon had been passed on--adopted--by his step parents. His birth mother had given him up. Again, when John as a teen was moving towards delinquency, and was fed up at home, he re-found his birth mother, Julia. Yes, THAT Julia, as I hear it anyway. and she gave him a guitar and encouraged his music making with McCartney. and then she was killed in an accident on the way to one of their early performances.@@goransollscher1730
.. did you ad lib a right hand slur @1:09? Very nice. Everything was very nice. I play your arrangement all the time but now I know how it is supposed to sound. 🙂
Thanks a lot 🎶 Ja,jag har en liten specialare där ….. 😊
Awesome!! Which strings do you use?
Thanks 🎶 I use Savarez Alliance hard tension on 2-6 and Oasis Claro nylon hard tension on the first string.
Goran, are your arrangements available, preferably without tabs?
Yes 🎶 You can find this one and some others in my collection ’12 British Songs’ . Edition Gendai Guitar. And no tabs 😊
@@goransollscher1730 Great, thank you! 🙂

The song played at Kurt Cobain’s funeral.
Really-I didn’t know 🎶
Beautiful!
Thanks 🎵
