The Woodstock Fruit Festival is going on Vacation - To Hawaii! The North Shore of Hawaii will be the home of the 2nd official location for The Woodstock Fruit Festival. From the humble beginnings in the mountains of Upstate New York, the festival has grown in leaps and bounds and now will host a 2nd annual event each year in Hawaii. Wish I could make my way out there. But with school and finances it's a no go. Love Hawaii though, also appreciate what TheFruitarian does for the sport of running and for the vegan community.

Getting back into endurance sports (triathlon) intensively after quite some years I was quite busy with other things in life, I watched a lot of "Frutarian Videos" especially those with Mike Arnstein.
And "yes" to confess right upfront, I am currently on a diet including meat.
I am ready and willing to become vegetarian as I fully understand all bad aspects that consuming meat bring along, being especially animal exploitation and climate issues.
But to be honest, I don´t get this frutarian thing. What is it supposed to be good for, or, precisely asking, why is it supposed to be superior to eating vegan or vegetarian.
Of course, men can survive and succeed just eating raw fruits, but to my belief men is physiologically and anatomically not made for a purely frutarian diet. We arent cows or horses or other animals that have this specialized physiology and anatomy.
In my understanding the frutarian diet is just one extreme that you can do. It will not be a solution for all people. So it´s for an elite? The animal and plant world doesn´t profit more from a frutarian than from a vegan diet I would suppose?! As long as you keep vegetarian/vegan organic and local. But same is true for frutarian.
What should be the rationale for me in - let´s say - western Europe to eat all sorts of fruits at wintertime, that had to be flewn around the world to get in my fridge?
So please tell me: What is the reason?
I think this is a good idea but I am worried. I just read about Doug Graham and I question the "pioneers" who make policy for these festivals. The thing is that we look up to you all and now it seems that we have to re-evaluate who to believe in.

I wish I could go, but I have college and can't afford it. It would be awesome compared to gloomy and rain England. Best wishes for the festival!
