The Raros refusing to believe Yul could possibly have the Idol is always even more hilarious in hindsight when at the F8 Penner tells them Yul showed him the Idol, they don't believe him, only for Yul to show it off at the Auction.
10:01 that Penner confessional shows a relatively rare ability to recognize not only what he did wrong, but **why** it was wrong in the middle of the game to the level that he is. I think about HvV final 7 a lot tbh, like just randomly. It so perfectly encapsulates what I love about the strategy of survivor and how complex it all is. Russell basically loses Parvati the game 4 votes before FTC which is so insane, but given how the season went from that point its pretty obvious that Parv needed Russell AND Danielle at the end to win. Russell changed survivor history, on accident, with that move

I think some small bad moves were Jenna talking to Naviti and voting for Donathan at final 10 in 36 (voting him when she knew he had an idol lessened any chance of her surviving that round), I recall how certain people voted at the final 10 in 40 after Jeremy left the TC making their positive outcomes vanish (i think it was Michele in that case), and also Xander at the final 10 not using any advantage he has to save Evie.
I'm not sure how Jerri made a bad move at the F7 by voting out one of the obvious F3. Russell deciding and strongarming to take Sandra was played as a last minute decision that made no sense to even Parvati who was getting targeted. Hard to blame Jerri for not getting iced out at the F4 by a three person alliance because she was sent home almost at random by a guy with no real strategy. Besides even if they were split for good Russell could just replace Parvati or Danielle with Sandra anyways at the F4
Jerri's move wasn't bad at all. In fact I believe Sandra made a bad move here by trying to vote out Rupert. Danielle going was much better for her game. Both Sandra and Jerri should have gone with Danielle while they should have (and Jerri did), because that opens up a third seat at FTC alongside the obvious Russell/Parvati pair. Everyone voted the way they were supposed to except Sandra and Russell that tribal, and I'd argue Russell's was irrelevant since he's just going to get shit on by the jury no matter who he's against.

lmao I love how you included dawn even though she was just a random “favorite” that got brought back. Nothing against her, just doesn’t quite fit the criteria haha. But I do think a vid about 3 or 4 time players who never won would be cool!
I think the key thing is that if you've nearly won then everyone knows that you're a threat and they will inevitably target you (there's a reason so few people have come close to winning twice). On Ozzy and Joe specifically: they have collectively survived four post merge tribal council votes between them across seven appearances; ultimately I think that it's an indicator that building your survivor game on physicality is a loosing strategy (notably the two times Ozzy almost won were the shortest postmerge in survivor history and a season with Redemption Island).
I find it funny to imagine they’re like “Well if none of us have found it on exile yet….. it must be way more hidden and just unfindable” like if they just vote for Becky or Sundra a Raro probably wins the season

Had Pete kept his mouth shut, they have a real chance at taking our Malcom at 10, which would mean Penner is out at 9 since even if Skupin flips, Kent is still there to make the numbers work.
No he can't because once the votes are read the result is final. That's why Jeff specifically asks if anyone has an idol or advantage BEFORE they are read.
The Cook Islands idol was a super idol that could be played after eh votes are read The idol that we see in modern survivor had its debut in season 14 This is season 13
Flipping on Carl the vote after using 3 advantages in DvG was an underrated terrible move -- Christian and Gabby's game immediately fell apart, Nick worded it perfectly after that trible
Yul’s play to Jonathon always confused me… “vote with us or I’ll use the idol on myself and we’ll all vote for you.” Yes, the idol could be played after the vote but they couldn’t change their votes. So either the 4 are all voting for Jonathon, in which case what does it matter who he votes for? Or they’re all voting for Nate, in which case if Jonathon votes for Yul and Yul uses his super idol, Nate still goes home.
Yul knew 2 things: 1) Jonathan was not happy in the Raro alliance. They publicly berated him and did not value him. He was a 5th wheel. He wanted a reason to flip. 2) From his relationship with Jonathan he also knew Jonathan really wanted to ally with the idol and be given a reason to flip. It was a flimsy one but it was provided. It's not a great move by Yul just an effective one. The Stupidity honestly was the Raro 4 keeping someone around as a punching bag. If you couldn't stand Penner you could have voted him out on 3 occasions if memory serves. If you wanted him as someone with zero winner upside then treat him like an ally. It's not hard for the Aitu 4 to look good against one of the dumbest alliances (imo) in Survivor history.

@@mazdakmina9493 oh wait the aitu have to vote. They can't vote Adam, can't vote any of themselves. They only have 3 options Penner (meaning Penner wouldn't be going home), Candace, and Parvati. If it was the last 2 this means immunity for 2 of the 3 raro meaning they got 1, Jonathan who they don't like or 3 aitu people. It's the reason in blood vs water it actually didn't matter whether ciara flipped only tyson and I think gervase drew with the other side having three people draw.
Penner not "voting out" Yul was a huge mistake. He allowed Yul to keep the idol and hold all the power. He should have voted for Yul, let him use his idol to idol out Nate and then the game would be 4-4 and Penner would have options. Instead he bought into Yuls idol threat and betrayed his alliance for no reason.
@Mazdak Mina Even if Yul threatens rocks and gets rid of Jonathan the next time and even if they do vote him out, Yul would not have an idol which would now allow the Raros opportunity to convince someone like Ozzy to come to there side to get rid of him. By flipping, Penner made himself look infinitely worse and allowed Yul to dictate the rest of the game. That's a dumb move. When you have a perfect opportunity to get rid of the God idol you do it. What happens at the vote after is speculation with no guarantee, we don't know 100% what would have happened but we do know with 100% certainty that if Penner votes Yul, the idol is gone. Same result but now no idol.
@Mazdak Mina no im not rooting for anyone. The video is dumb moves. Penner voting for Nate is a dumb move. It puts him in a worse spot and makes Yul more powerful. That's dumb. He does not know he is theoretically going next with Raro people voting him out. He wants to be with the Aitu people all of a sudden which worsens his social game more. How is that wise? Are you saying that his move is actually intelligent? Also, when I said nothing changes, I wasn't talking about Penner going next (because he clearly didn't, Candice did) I was talking about Nate going home no matter what but whatever, let's move on and enjoy survivor content.
@Mazdak Mina what on earth are you rambling on about? Are you still going on? Also, I literally love Yul. One of favorite winners and I hate the Raro people with a passion. They were idiots and clueless. Also you've provided no proof he's in a better spot. He may have had a slim chance of winning before the vote, very slim. He had absolutely no chance after it. DANELLIE 😅
Wait, did you say Candice? from Raro tribe?
Sounds good!
i mean yul could play his idol after votes are read right?
No he can't because once the votes are read the result is final. That's why Jeff specifically asks if anyone has an idol or advantage BEFORE they are read.
The Cook Islands idol was a super idol that could be played after eh votes are read
The idol that we see in modern survivor had its debut in season 14
This is season 13
Russel voting Danielle out was the only move that made me dislike him. His game was already blown up so he had to blow up Parvati’s game too?
Flipping on Carl the vote after using 3 advantages in DvG was an underrated terrible move -- Christian and Gabby's game immediately fell apart, Nick worded it perfectly after that trible
Russel would have been able to get to the end with Parvati and Danielle. None of those three can win against sandra or jerri
Jonathan was basically looking for a reason to flip and Yul knew Jonathan wanted to play with the smart people.
Wait I'm confused if penner knows they are voting Nate because HE VOTED WITH THEM why didnt he just vote raro. Yul plays the idol Nate goes home but yul doesn't have the idol
@@mazdakmina9493 I don't agree because if so why not just vote Jonathan instead of yul?
@@mazdakmina9493 lol THEY DID BAN TOGETHER short of Jonathan and voted yul. I hate to tell you but Nate goes out this round, and yul uses his idol. They are going to RETRY to get yul. Especially since you can't say they were I WANT TO GET PENNER OUT strong 4 tribals with there ACTUAL target now within reach.
@@mazdakmina9493 this is what I thought you are working in a world where penner flipped but if he doesn't flip raro keeps him TO GET YUL THE ORIGINAL TARGET
@@mazdakmina9493 lol I Googled cause I wanted to see the next episode. So one is yul showing the idol. Which doesn't happen in the new time-line. The fish scene also doesn't happen. Now yes the auction still happens so it is the question of whether less Penner means more then open Yul also I saw who won immunity (adam) meaning two of them are in danger vs. 3 aitu members
As much as the Raro people hated him. They hated him 10 times more afterwards.
Penner is overrated. Annoying person.
Bit of a cop out and lazy having three from the same season.
