- "Nightfall" is an episode that started production in 2006/2007. It was a very complex project at the time and we decided to produce several short episodes in between. But it's finally here!
The crew of the Batavia goes down to Cententa II for a well deserved vacation when they're suddenly disturbed by a distress call from Admiral Taylor.
I love the detail in this series. A lot of hard work went into making this. Great job.
A wonderful job! Great characters and visual fx, and a nice storyline as well! Congratulations on a job well done! I really enjoyed it! You can see there is great love and respect for Star Trek in every frame!
Fine Fan Fiction. This is one of my favorite Fan Fiction Production groups. What ever short comings exist; this is still Good Work!
I'm enjoying these~ Well Done Gang!
this was fun to watch, and I am looking forward to more, thank you for all your hard work.
Great!! Love this Episode.
Well done!
I really enjoyed the episode and I hope that more 'll follow.
Keep up this good work,people.
I'm looking forward to the next episode and perhaps a full series.
You absolutely paid attention to the details and the acting was ok.
I think that in time your acting skills 'll evolve and 'll become more and more fluent.
Let me end by saying that I'm very proud that this production was made by fellow Dutch countrymen/-women of mine.
Goed gedaan!
And now...
Let's continue the journey.
To go where no one has gone before....
;-)
These are amazing as a 60 + original series fan watching on a small black and white TV. Back then you done a good job made an old boy happy
love the episode, my mom missed the 'UFP Subspace Phone Company'. had to back it up and tell her it's not suposed to be there.
I saw that right away.got a chuckle from me.
And there was really no reason to vaporize that football
DUDE! That foot ball was not the enemy!
Enemy in disguise 😉😆
You mention production quality in the intro. And it has come up again in the comments. This, I have to say to you:
Be proud.
Be proud of the things you have learned how to improve production values. And also be proud of your videos, each individually, for what they are. Thank you for sharing, and well flippin' done.
that is the best Star Trek ever all time to🏅🥇🥈🥉
I like the uniforms.
Did I hear the Vulcan say he was scanning the Delta Quadrant? The Delta quadrant is 70 years away at warp 9.
congratulations - great episode! I enjoyed it.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Glad to hear! :)
Most excellent use of green screen, very impressive on a small budget but still awesome ✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😉😉😉😉😉😉!!!
Acting in just green screen can be hard, less for the actors to get into character with. You all did so well, but I would be interested to see what you could do with some good sets.
Aha, so THIS was the original first episode? A lot of the plot and character oddities in the two-parter episode "Choices" suddenly all make sense, because the back story is HERE. And it's not a bad story either, with good variety in scenes and some real location shooting! Would it not be worth moving it to the start of the playlist though? Yes, it was released later but like "The Cage" and WNMHGB the genesis of the Dark Armada story is here, shouldn't it be viewed first?
That's a very interesting question Matt. Nightfall was supposed to be our pilot, but it was also supposed to be a 1 hour episode. During production we realized that is was going to take a long time to complete so we decided to make 3 shorts of about 5 minutes. They turned out to be the Choices 3 parter (Worst Nightmare, Choices 1 and Choices 2), way longer than we set out to make.... but it was going well ;) . They are written chronologically before Nightfall. If we'd change the order... the Blue Star would crash on the planet in Nightfall and later appear again in Choices.
We did make a few changes to Nightfall though... we cut out about half of the script that was either was unnecessary or an introduction to a character we've already seen. So what remained is the 30-minute episode you just watched. :)
FanTrekProductions I see, a very creative solution! I'll just mentally retcon that the apparently younger actors are just all in soft focus for this episode ;-)
Haha yes, aging seems to be a bit of a problem. ;) I remember a Holodeck scene in Nightfall: when Richardson is inside it he is 5 years younger than when he steps out. Even his Dutch accent dissipates.
FanTrekProductions That's the power of holo-technology for you! :-)
Just one thing...where'dja get that Scottish Trill?
Yeah.... It tends to happen when you watch too many episodes of Outlander.
Not to be a Negative nancy, but I notice that the two ships that we don't see in the later parts of the battle are the ones that SHOULD be retired.
Seems like you really paid attention 😉
@@FanTrekProductions I'm curious, what class is the Blue Star?
@@kadindarklord It's an original design ;) I believe it's called Mercator-class
Please make more please
Sorry if I'm ignorant, but where is the Armada going? Also, never heard a Vulcan cuss before.
Damn Dutch lol ! Said the Dutchman
So far I have watched a few episodes. I enjoyed them. but who or what is this Dark Armada?
what is the ship class?
Anonymous01959 The Batavia is Nova class, from the Voyager two-parter "Equinox"
Wish there was a model to build, GREAT design !!!
I see you noticed that, haha ;)
What you will to tell me about half life what i supouse to do
Go to Church.
Too much talking, not enough action... Special effects need work, and acting needs to be more realistic... It sounds and looks like a movie that the french would do (yuk!)... But bravo for the efforts in creating this!... It's unfortunate that you do not dispose of millions of dollars to do a "Hollywood-type" production, because there's potential here!... Keep up the good work!... ;)
+Marc Boiteux Thanks Marc. We're Dutch actually. It's true we have limited budget and resources, but the things you mentioned we continue to improve with each episode. This is an older episode that started production in 2006/2007. Please also watch our latest work :) ua-cam.com/video/SdPmxaZpNYg/v-deo.html
