- What makes a bushcraft knife a great tool, is the individual who is using it. With skills comes perfection. That’s why the Morakniv Wit is the preferred knife for long-lasting adventures.
The handmade, solid full tang knife has a 2.5 mm thick black blade made of recycled Swedish stainless steel and features a drop point tip. The geometry of the unique ash wood handle enables a variety of grips that can come in handy. Also, the spine of the blade is compatible with a fire starter.
The knife's black vegetable tanned leather sheath can be attached to a dangler, which allows you to extend the distance between the knife sheath and the belt. Knowledge is everything.

When 90% of people think your over selling a knife.. that can really ruin the name you guys have in the knife community. The complete opposite of why y'all are still around and popular, not for long.
Love this sort of BPS by Mora . Will buy it .
PS : Oups i see the crazy price !!!😵
Back to my Garberg , my Classic , my Companion and my Basic 546 ...
Same!
Nice, but the Price. 😳
And which Stainless Steel. ????
The best recycled stainless steel in the whole World heat treated 56-58HRC! How can you not understand :)
Wow too expensive omg
Overpriced! Why better Casstrom is 100 EUR cheaper??? Shame on you Mora
We understand that the pricing might not be for everyone, hope you'll get the chance to try it out someday, though.
@@MoraknivOfficial No, You don't understand. The problem lays not in fact that Mora makes expensive knife. Every knife company wiil be hated if they want to sell knife made like Ashwood series in that price! The price for knife made of cheap steel and wood is robbery!
I've several expensive knives in higher prices but I know what I'm paying. F.e. I've bought TRC South Pole in price 300 EUR - less than 70 EUR more than Mora but i got high end finishing,Elmax steel, G10 scales(special edition) and Kydex sheath with serial number.
And please dont write that Helle makes expensive full tangs. Their knile looks better and uses beautiful curly birch hand grinded by human not mashine. Also Curly birch can break during processing so the price can be higher. I have bought Helle Utvaer last year for 160 EUR an this knife acoording to Ashwood series look ultra premium.
Max price for Ashwood series is 100 EUR. You want to sel knives in high price? - start to use better steel and wood!
You are welcome to buy, or not buy, anything you want from us. Greetings from the knife factory in Mora, Sweden.
@@MoraknivOfficial Another "copy-paste" answer - is this the maximum You can? Once again - You want high price - give customer high class materials and excellent craftmanship. I can pay 230 EUR for a knife but it must represent much higher level than Ashwood series. Every human who will pay actual price for those knives is thinkless fanboy or person with IQ less than 70
239 Euro for a Мoranive, probably gold.
I love Mora knives and am a big fan. Companion, Eldris, Garberg, Robust or Classic .... I have almost all models. But at over 200 euros for the steel sorry Mora I'm out. There are better knives for the money.
"made of recycled Swedish stainless steel"
can you be more specific?
"Flex Grade: Stiff"
does this mean hardness? if so...once again more specific?
Sandvik 12c27. Super-fine microstructure, gets an super-keen edge.
@@Rootori4 you work for Mora?
Recycled steel is the cut offs and knifes with defaults etc. That get sent back to you steel factory to be remade into the steel for making the knifes. The problem with the advert is they forget to tell you that all of the mora knifes are made with recycled steel . The blade and handle is cut by a machine then handle is put on by a person like all the other wooden handles knifes mora make's.they have a machine that with new moulds can cut 1000s a day.And they would just make as many blades as they need. Then change mould and make a different blade all run by computer. And already a lot of knife shops are putting the new range on sale.
@@Rootori4 So it's just a Mora with the steel they use on 15€ knives, got it.
@@HellGatefr2 or it is the steel on the much costier Garberg. But it could be that is so is :D but 12C27 is good stainless Steel, it gets a very fine and keen edge for stainless Steel :D
I fully agree. In that price range I rather replace my trusty laminated Cobalt-steel F1x with a new one with Elmax steel from Fällkniven.

Hello Schai! Thanks for your comment, so sorry you didn't appreciate our launch.
Always been a Mora fan, but come on, 214€? You’ve got to be kidding. Morakniv used to be the go to for very affordable great quality knives. The materials are definitely not worth that. Sounds to me like they’re turning into Spyderco or Benchmade. I really hope this is not the future of Morakniv. The knife itself looks impressive for the materials used, but it’s definitely not worth that price.
You're not obliged to buy this model.
I'm not into all models either.
Get yourself other models, there are many that are affordable.
It's not like Mora only has high priced knives.
I agree. Well said
@@Ve-suvius I completely agree. And it’s not like I’m giving up on Morakniv or anything. I have too many great knives by them to all of a sudden jump ship. I’m just giving my 2 cents about this model. 👍🏻

Ok, I understand.
My favorites...
Mora Companion carbon, Mora Bushcraft Black, Mora Bushcraft Survival Desert, Mora Companion Stainless/12C27.
Excellent knives. All of them.
I have always beta huge fan of morakniv and own many but I too was disappointed in the price. I think ideological they’re worth much mora (see what I did there) but realistically I’d pay $120 US at most.
We did suport Mora being a fan, colecting and buying your knifes, but this is robbery! You can't even name the steel, you used...
12c27 😉
Needed to be in Elmax for the price tag 😞
We understand that the price may not be for everyone, but we're committed to providing high-quality products that are worth the investment. Greetings from the knife factory in Mora, Sweden.
Do they know how to heat treat Elmax? They can probably do 56-58 HRC like on this recycled steel.
Mora, this won't work. You gamble away your joker. Good knives for little money. For good, beautiful knives but absolutely overpriced. Oh, don't do that. Stick to what we love you for. Please.
We understand that the pricing might not be for everyone, hope you'll get to try the new knives, though. Greetings from the knife factory in Mora, Sweden.
Mora.. stop being outdated and improve your steel.. instead of jacking the price for cheap material..
The recycled Swedish stainless steel is the same steel that we have been using for decades. We are just communicating how it's made from our supplier. The percentage of the amount of recycled stainless steel from our supplier is increasing each year, which means that we are getting closer to a more sustainable product lifecycle. Nowadays, most of the world's stainless steel products are recycled due to the high quality of the steel. The recycled Swedish stainless steel in our knives has over 80% recycled steel, which we want to highlight.
@@MoraknivOfficial At the time, Mora told us that the Garberg was made of the better 14c28n steel. Now suddenly all products are made from the same recycled stainless steel. Where is the truth here?
What makes a bushcraft knife, is a knife that you have on your belt.
Nobody in the sane mind would buy this…
We understand that the price may not be for everyone, but we're committed to providing high-quality products that are worth the investment. Greetings from the knife factory in Mora, Sweden.
@@MoraknivOfficial Thanks for your reply Mora!
Over the years I loved your knives.
I use the heavy duty craft line for work, gave my friends a companion for Christmas, for adventures I like the Garberg in carbon steel.
With all respect, please understand my concern. Why does the new line, that is made out of the same steel as your low end knife, as well as really simple wooden scales cost so much?
Not to mention the “vegan sheath staining”.
Vegetable, and leaf tannins were used for centuries.
Surely you realise that no one in the community cares about those “new” values.
Are you listening to us, Morakniv? We are all huge Mora fans, that's why we're here, and almost all of us are complaining about the prices of your new line. You're ruining your reputation and losing customers. I use your knives everyday and love them but these new knives we have all waited for, a line of full tang blades, are way overpriced. Way. I can't afford even one, as much as I wanted to try them out. Lower the prices, with an equally big ad campaign. Thanks.
Hi! Indeed, we are listening, we see and read every single comment. We also hope for your understanding with the prices, as well as we understand that they aren't for everyone. Great to hear that you like the knives though, but remember that the rest of our assortment is still there for you, to antoher price point. Warmest regards from the knife factory in Mora, Sweden. :)
So basically you're saying tough luck if these knives are too expensive for some people, it means these knives just aren't for them? That's the official response, fellow bushcrafters. Well, there are Norwegian knives that are pretty great as well, and better steel and lower prices than new Moraknivs, so that's an option, folks.
@@MoraknivOfficialare you serious ? This answer is ridiculous. 😢
A risky way for Mora from a marketing perspective to delegitimize their core values which are low-price, great quality knives that are capable to supersede much costlier ones from other vendors - especially in economical circumstances we have now. Mora might both fail to sell enough units to the fan crowd and loose a lot of the regular buyers in the future.
They won't lose me as long as they continue to offer their normal lines, but I sure won't pay these prices for these knives. I will go elsewhere for my wood scales and leather sheaths. Really a shame as I love Swedish 14c28n steel, and would Love to have some more wood handled moras, but under Garberg price.
I fear your point may be true!! They can turn this round quickly though. Listen to the concerns and complaints, acknowledge them and correct, restore faith and trust. Move forward.
@Iokua Joshua just to be very clear, this entire range is the basic 12c27 steel. The leather sheath appears to be what is called "genuine leather" not even full grain hide you find in decent sheaths. It seems to get worse when you research each detail.
@@adventureoutdoorsuk9271 I would have assumed the steel to be Sandvik 14c28n at the very least (which in my opinion is kind of a 'goldilocks' steel when it comes to edge retention and toughness). 12c27 is a big bummer and Helle as an example only comes away with it because of the high share of manual labour in their production. From Mora however we know they are using cost-effective industrial production methods.
@Oliver Immich to be fair to Mora they do a great job with 12c27, my Kansbol, Eldris, basic and classics are all just fine. The edge gets very sharp, the retention suffers a little under heavy use. It is the way Morakniv have chosen to communicate alongside the pricing that is the real issue here. Personally never bothered with Helle as I always felt they were a little too pricey.
Without blackened blade and good looking sheath this knife looks like cheap chineese utility knife from street marketplace in poor southamerican country. The price is from cosmos - for the same money I can buy premium powder steel knife. No info about the steel. Every stainless steel can be made of recycled steel (except powder ones). If the steel is made from recycled parts why the price is so high???
The recycled Swedish stainless steel is the same steel that we have been using for decades. We are just communicating how it's made from our supplier. @@MoraknivOfficial So it's still Sandvik 12c27 - cheap steel. Ashwood is also cheap wood, blade is machine cut, the same is handle so why the price is so high? Because sobebody in Morakniv sits with glue and screwdriver and connect scales to the knife???This knife is worth 80 EUR maximum an not because Morakniv is the manufacturer. If Fallkniven would sell this knife in this robbery price the customers would hate them too.
Love the patterns, -but given simple construction and materials (screw down scales, plain wood) and the rest being factory automated, I cannot see why these should be so expensive in light of all competition. Will be interesting to see retail prices.
Beautiful knife but a bit pricey for me
Thank you, hope you'll get the chance to test it someday!
Just what is it that makes these knives so much more expensive?
Hello there, thanks for your question! One thing is the cost of operation. Compared to the Garberg for example, this new series requires more time from each person in our factory. We are proud of our production in Sweden, where all our staff have a safe working environment, proper salaries and collective agreements. Another thing is the materials used, for example wood instead of plastics and vegetable tanned leather sheatch. Hope this answers your question, have a great day!
@@MoraknivOfficial wow it's not like you already have over 150 years of making wooden handles for knifes. If you are like every place I have worked. You would have everything set already. You would still carry on making all your normal range of knifes. You might have to bring in a few extra worker's but more likely just retain the workers on the production lines. One factory job I had. I would spend part of the day making one part. Then reset the machine to make a different part etc.
Dear friends and family,
Today, we gather to honor the memory of Morakniv, who has passed away from the terrible and sneaky disease called marketing greed. We come together to celebrate his life and the impact he had on all of us.
Morakniv was a manufacturer who during all his life made it his mission to bring quality but affordable knives to the masses. He was always eager to help others and had a kind heart that touched the lives of many. He was so strong that even the far eastern land that makes everything and cheats on everything, could not beat him. It's a shame that his demise came from the inside, from this organ called marketing department.
Although we are saddened by Morakniv's passing, we take comfort in knowing that his legacy will live on through the memories that we hold dear, and the impact that he had on our lives will never be forgotten.
Morakniv, you were a gift to us all, and we are grateful for the time we had with you. Your spirit will continue to live on in our hearts, and we will always remember the joy and love that you brought into our lives.
Rest in peace, Morakniv. You will be sharply missed.
Para ese precio y así sin mirar mucho me voy a un ESSE o cualquier nórdico, barkriver etc... Cualquiera de ellos con mejores materiales y calidad. Este mora es una pieza para coleccionistas
Cold Steel Master Hunter in CPM-3V for the same price and infinitely better performance
El cuchillo no está mal , lo único qué no tiene sentido primero el precio y segundo el material de la hoja, acero reciclado no entiendo.
Put 14c28n into it and I'd consider it. But with cheaper steel than the Garberg this is just insanity
Honestly, I had one in my hands. 214 EUR SRP is way overtop, for untreated ash handle, bolted to a full tang.
The Tang is not flush with the scales, it's approximately 1 mm wider on each side. That's a straight road to fatigue and blisters!
And as with ever mass-produced blade from Mora, you have either a smooth or sharp spine, in that case a sharp spine, all the way, which means you can make sparks everywhere from the spine, but also guaranteed get blisters longer working with the thumb on the spine. That's just lazy design. But to have it different would mean, that the knife blade cannot be automated made on the current machines.
Pity! Even Gerber learned, to make the spine "thumb friendly" and only have a certain area sharpened for the ferro-rod. I have seen 20 EUR knifes doing this better.
And its 12C27 Swedish steel. That would be OK for me.
But the not-flush Tang, the untreated / unstabilized ash scales, the thumb-hurting spine and the Lack of a lanyard hole are no-gos for a knife over 60 EUR.
And for a 214 EUR knife, it's ridiculous! And that the belt loop is even a paid extra on some versions is just icing on the cake...
Wonderful, keep it up🔥❤
❤️ Mora 😆
Mora rules ✊
Full tang sounds nice.
If it turns out to be good, is there a way to get just the blade?
I have nice 8 years dried cherry tree root wood from the garden. So I don't need industrial handles.
Full tang is always nice! As of now, we won't sell only the blades. Greetings from the knife factory in Mora, Sweden. 🤝
But that's the thing you already sell just the blades of other knifes. They just blanks you can make 1000s a day.the handles are just two bit of wood. That are screwed on. There's nothing special about it. You could probably buy different colours of wood or plastic handles from different companies that would fit your blades.i watched a UA-cam video of a guy he removed your handles in a few minutes and put his own on
@@thebelfastvikingmartinbrow3603 I just think it's a waste to have to buy something that get's thrown away. Especially with how they hammer the advertising about sustainability.
@@MoraknivOfficial To be fair, a hidden tang that is well made, will never break with how gentle I use my knifes. I keep them sharp, so I don't need much force. and it saves weight. I only pack a full tang knife when I run the risk of handing it to a friend that doesn't own a proper knife. Though lately, I got a Mora robust for that. I really like to have the option though, how much a knife is optimised for the users needs. Which is why I like this one adding to the product line. I just hope the marketing returns to have some facts that build trust instead of raising suspicion.
What kind of belt is that with the sheath being hung from the button?
How does the blade compare to my trusty old companion with stainless steel blade?
Also how is the new companion with recycled steel? Is it better or worse than the old ones?
Should I try to buy a old one before the new ones come to dealers?
The old ones had proper data and not just poetry that equals "trust me bro".

@@MoraknivOfficial Why communicate it in a way that looks like all the scam knifes that feel the need to hide what they use? The old datasheet was good, just add a green line "sutainability" and write about the steel not being 80% recycled (because steel being recycled is nothing new and makes only saying that look shady af) and the eco certfications of the handle material. If you feel it's important, put it on the top of the table. I really care about sustainability. I like my knife to last long and take good care of it. I also like when the quality fits the purpose. And I don't have to buy another one, that is less frustrating to use. So proper information when buying are just as important.
