Three Yann dogs and a chocolate milk. Best breakfast ever. I remember many times walking in and he would simply say, "how many you want". Loved that guy.
I was in Fairmont for training a few years ago and Yann's was just a couple of blocks away.
We had lunch every day until our training ended.
Blessed to have Mr. Yann serve us then.
Growing up in Fairmont for me it was always Lupo’s hotdogs then Yann’s followed by Woody’s. If you’re a hotdog connoisseur, Fairmont, WV in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s was the place to be!!
YES Lupo's was great I remember the sauce being like a soup, but it was so good.
If I was getting "to go" I stopped at Yann's. If I was "eating in" I went to Lupo's. I liked Mr. Lupo's hot dogs and his counter wasn't as cramped. And he even had Clark bars into the early 1990s!
Yanns is the best!! 🌭
I grew up on YANN's hot dogs in Fairmont and I can tell you that the hot dog there has changed from what it was when Mr Yann was alive. .
Russell's dad was the first to make the sauce.
My dad brought me there when I was 4 years old they give you just a dog and a bun when your a small kid. Then when you pass into manhood you eat your first real dog with sauce it's like the passing of the tortch.
But that place was one of the only places you could eat really cheap and get full.
You guys have to try the
Country club pepperoni bun with yanns sauce.
They rock no onions no mustard just sauce.
Russ was a icon in Fairmont.
And Kathy Is one of the nicest people ever
My best friends great grandfather was the owner of this place
Just seen your alls news clip and came to check out all these different videos!! I love it, this is the best state to live in!!
Thank you. We appreciate you watching. I hope you watch our future content. Enjoy.
@@HaveFunWV I enjoyed watching a fellow UA-cam channel, not many content creators in WV!!
Hometown
Hometown HotDogs in Westover received 14 out of 15, check out the Morgantown Video.
I always drank water or coffee with mine (I got them to go). For some reason, the Yann sauce and chocolate milk never mixed well in me. I can remember in the late 1980s I stopped in two or three times a week. If he saw my car turn the corner and wasn't too busy, my hot dogs would be bagged and waiting for me when I got in the door. $2.34 for four in those days.
One of the best 3:12 pm.
They'll always be good but they were better and more consistent before Russ passed away. He wasn't talkative but despite legend, one of the sweetest guys you'd ever meet. Saw many a college student who forgot their wallet eat for free and many a kid get a free chocolate milk.
And this would be blasphemy in Fairmont but occasionally I would go home and put my own slaw on them. The spicy sauce and the sweet, cool slaw were outstanding together.
And I couldn’t agree with you more about the spice and the sweet of the slaw going well together but don’t let your friends know you did that.
I had six Yann dogs in one sitting at the Morgantown location back in the 80s. They were SO GOOD!
Wow. Two bottles of chocolate milk for you.
Thanks for directing me to this video. You guys represented Russ well, Thank you! Now I gotta' call Cathy and place an order for a few dozen to send down here to Fort Worth, TX. God how I miss the 304!
We love Yanns and we appreciate your comments. Subscribe to the channel, here you’ll find lots of WV content. Enjoy and thanks again.
I love the no ketchup sign! It is definitely a must try. I guess I'll skip the slaw. I like a hotdog with sauerkraut too.
I thought Yann’s was pretty decent but honestly his demeanor deserves more legend than the dog.
Agreed.
I can remember walking in the kitchen door most mornings on my way to work to pick up breakfast of champions before they opened up.
I bet you would follow it up with a chocolate milk?
Ok, I'm sure this video was in the works by the time I posted my comment on the other video.
I like the response - Go South!
I'm glad Yanns made it to your channel!
This video was planned back in August. We know a good hot dog when we taste one. Yanns is definitely a great dog with a rich legacy. Thank you for watching, I hope you enjoy the rest of the content we have planned.
No slaw ever on a dog either
Chris’ had a spicy chili and the best fries.
because slaw does not belong on a hotdog
Did you go to Wright's hot dogs in Fairmont Wv
We went on a Saturday sometime in August and you guys were closed. However, we have a Unique Hot Dog Tour that we are doing. Do you have something unique for toppings on a dog? Let us know on our Facebook page at HaveFunWV.
I am not affiliated with Wrights. I just went to college there and it was always one of my favorite hot dogs and they have an amazing spicy chili
These Chili Dogs and Chocolate milk are a lot like the Olneyville New York System Hot Wieners and Coffee Milk.
Sounds great. Now I want one!
No way it’s a number one hot dog in West Virginia might be the number one hotdog and some other state it is true or not. No number one hot dog in West Virginia wouldn’t hit a dog with one head.
I think it is definitely a Unique Hot Dog and as some say it’s a number one dog, I’m with you here, not true in my book either. But thanks for watching the video.
Slaw? Don't you ever ruin a Yann's hotdog by putting slaw on it. The come one way.
Ya'll must not be from around here.
We are fully aware of Yanns. And yes, no slaw on a Yanns dog. Our previous hot dog videos were strictly about WV Style Hot Dogs, if you’re from West Virginia you would know that slaw is on them. So we wanted to feature Yanns for how good they are and what a unique place it is. Thanks for watching.
@@HaveFunWV Go eat a foot long.
No ketchup yea im good thats just a no
Stop it... it's "Sauce" ;)
Looks like and tastes like some yummy spicy chili or sauce but all I know, is that’s a four thumbs up dog!
@@HaveFunWV That sounds awesome. I grow my own spicy peppers because I can't find any around here. Ill have to try that out or at minimum try to make my own. Got the recipe? hehe :)
Ingredients make it chili. Consistency is what it needs to be for a hot dog. Chili started as a meat only dish. Chili with beans is an adaptation of chili.
Keep the tradition going Kathy, some of the best hotdogs in the state. Even Chocolate milk didn't help Cherie.
