I knew absolutely nothing about these tang sights and yet I still ended up ordering a c sharps with one on it. Currently on a crash course and this really helped!
Excellent! You would have been a great teacher or maybe you are? Question it looks like the sight is to low to start from the bottom I'm curious what number setting is your zero? 5 moa per mark for large scale and 1 moa for the small one right? What is it per mark on the windage? I'm seriously thinking about buying the pedersoli so I'm trying to get dialed in on this. They offer on from 30 inches to 34 which Barrel actually comes out to 36-in exactly on the site radius? Thank you I think you're videos are great
Ignore the position of the sight , it was just mounted on the rifle to demonstrate how to use the apparatus . Elevation and Windage are both marked in 5/100 ths of an inch on the main scale and 1/100ths of an inch on the vernier scale . The 34 inch barrel is a little over 36 inch sight radius , I am many hundreds of mailes away from home so I can't measure it either . From memory the 32 inch barrel gives you a 36 inch [ 1 yard ] sight radius , [ I may be wrong on this ] but it makes no appreciable difference to you in the field .
@@dungspreader Very good! I thought that may be the case. I was watching another video of a guy and his wife that compete and his choice was heavier 30" and wife's choice was medium 28" and he says they are very competitive. Especially as wives you say she's better than him 😁 Thanks for the info have a safe trip home.
If memory serves me correctly I thought a 34.4” sight radius gives a 1 moa movement at 100yds per one point on the staff of the vernier sight where a 36” sight radius would actually give a true one inch of movement at 100yds per one point on the vernier or true IPHY I think it’s called. The difference between the two is relatively small but would add up as distance increased if not corrected.

i want to get one of these rifles so bad
i love the 1874 sharps
Excellent. Very straightforward explanation! 👍
Your videos are juste awesome 👏 ! Thanks for the great content.
Thanks for "de-mystifying" the Soule sight. Now I'm off to do the calculations for myself so I can bang it into my thick head.
From clear as mud to bright as day. I was wondering about sights and choice of barrel length. Now I know, thanks

This was great.
Dungspreader, can you tell what manufacturer and model number "Goodwin" sight you have mounted to your rifle?
It is made by Pedersoli .
I have other videos demonstrating the Pedersoli Goodwin generation One and Two sights .
i think your stomach wanted to make its own commentary haha
Haha . It's complaining about my new diet . It's 100% succesful , it's called the "empty fridge" diet .
I should have paid attention in math class years ago. Have a pint on me , thanks
