These Ali express shifters are extremely well made for the price. I've got the 6 speed H pattern one and plan on buying a couple more just to try them out
I've had this shifter for a while now and yes she's snappy, almost too firm. Since I wanted this mostly for rally I wanted the knob to be close to the wheel like my e-brake so I installed a 3.5" extension. WOW, I'm impressed at how nice it is now in comparison to stock. The shifts are actually a lot nicer with it being more comfortably located and also made the pull that much less due to the added leverage. if you still have this shifter give it a try with the extension, it's even better.
Thanks for sharing
Can you put a link on for the extension?
@@andymcguigan7238 This, would also like to know.
Hello! does it still work well? I wanted to buy it but I'm not sure, because shipping is expensive to my country. Thank you so much!
@@andresav345 Yes it works great, never miss a shift
I love this aliexpress series! Thanks
Glad you like them! There's lots of interesting sim gear there, I do enjoy trawling the website and finding something new to try out.
Great content thank you. Keep it up
You bet
Hello, I have this same shifter and in terms of construction and feel it is great, the problem is when I use it with assetto corsa and I try to configure it in content manager because it only lets me use it through bind with the keyboard and when I press to change gears sometimes it works and other times it doesn't and this is very annoying because it causes you to force errors and it is not precise, it is only in assetto corsa, I don't know what I am configuring wrong or if the vehicle necessarily has to have a box sequential, since I tried playing Richard Burns Rally and magically the lever works perfect! but not this perfect in assetto, anyone who has had the same problem? In the video I also saw that you were playing dirt 2.0, I would like to know how you do it since it does not appear on the screen to configure, only my logitech steering wheel and my arduino handbrake..
Mine stopped registering properly after not much use, and seems to now have permanent slack. I would recommend looking elsewhere.
Hi, I got this shifter and I have been very happy with it. However, after maybe a dozen or so times of using it, it's no longer functioning correctly. When I up/downshift, there is now extra play. Basically when I upshift, it clicks as usual, and then afterwards there is still an additional amount of very noticeable travel. If I up/downshift as normal, it does not register the up/downshifts. Only when I max out the additional travel, does it register. When I upshift multiple times in a row, the additional play is only there the first time. After upshifting once, the play moves to the downshift side. Then when I downshift, the exact same issue is present, and likewise after downshifting once, the play is moved to the upshift side.
Do you know if this is easy to fix? Should I open up my shifter? Thank you!
Well, I can't figure out what's causing it. And with that, I would recommend staying away from this shifter unless you like to gamble.
Some help here, can I use it for handbrake? I don’t need for full range of handbrake but just an interrupted input. I was looking for one thing that I can use both shifter and handbrake
Yes, you could use this as a handbrake.
Hi great reviews. Can it be used on Thrustmaster TGT-2?
On PC, sure, you can use this with any wheelbase.👍
Got them also - very good feeling but too noisy if got children and playing night like me :)
I also have it, muffle the sound with a rubber washer, remove the plastic one before...
@@JoseFcoBN WHich washer do I need to swap? thanks for advice. This device is great but just too loud :D
@@katomaran You have to disassemble one side and put thin adhesive rubber tape under the 2 magnets... I put a rubber washer on the stem, but it breaks, better hot silicone...
Hello! does it still work well? I wanted to buy it but I'm not sure, because shipping is expensive to my country. Thank you so much!
Now I'm choosing a Sequential shifter for myself. There is one in the store in my country, home delivery is always 10 days. Do you think it's worth taking for $45? I no longer have petals on the steering wheel, and now I definitely need a Sequential shifter. And a good one.
It's good for $45, if that's as much as you want to pay. But always remember, you get what you pay for! So if spend a bit more and you get more for your money. Look at the SimJack sequential shifter for example ua-cam.com/video/iUa8A4BNBps/v-deo.html
It costs me almost 85 dollars. No, it's too much. 2 times! But thanks for the advice@@SimRacingCorner
Can you tell me exactly what it's called in Windows? Its exact name. My gearbox is called a "Generic USB Joystick", and I'm worried that the sequencer will take up the same buttons as the other gearbox. Yes, I need 2 at once, for different cars.
I no longer have the shifter. But I can tell you It doesn't matter if devices have the same name, it won't cause a conflict in Windows.
Je l'ai acheté. Rien a dire il fait le travail.
Hello! does it still work well? I wanted to buy it but I'm not sure, because shipping is expensive to my country. Thank you so much!
I recently got this shifter. Mechanical-wise it's quite sturdy. Problem is there is always a sort of port conflict with my other peripherals. It's detected as an Xbox 360 gamepad that only has Y and B. I have problems using it in rfactor 2 and Assetto Corsa, which defeats the purpose of using it. So frustrating.
What kind of hardware does it conflict with? Only with a gamepad? Or do you have some other hardware with Ali, which is also defined as a "Generic USB Joystick"?
@@orangechannel4862 I have Simjack Mini pedals also connected to the PC. Whenever I click on the properties of this shifter under "Setup USB Game Controllers" Instead of seeing the input previews of those two buttons, my Simjack Mini show up, but without any button or axis previews.
Hello! does it still work well? I wanted to buy it but I'm not sure, because shipping is expensive to my country. Thank you so much!
@@andresav345 oh yes it's still alive. I did some things to make it more reliable like securing the bolted joints and covers with threadlocker. Stainless steel bolts are notorious for undoing themselves under constant vibration and it has a lot of it. It did something peculiar when I installed drivers for my other Xbox 360 type controller, instead of registering Y and B it became A and B after said driver install.
Regarding the issue with AC, I discovered a workaround. In CM, I needed to bind the upshift and downshift first to keyboard buttons, then assign the stick's inputs as alternates for those keystrokes.
As for rf2, the issue solved itself after swapping around some USB ports from my rig to the PC. Seems like my wheelbase (openffb) does not like being connected with the other controls on the same USB hub.
Although, the issue with it not displaying properly on the list of USB game controllers is still there, which is minor considering I don't need to do calibrations with it, just buttons, no axes.
@@johnlawrencebernardo8059 Thank you!!🙏🏻
Does anyone know if the shifter knob can be changed?
I'm pretty sure I demonstrate that in the video.
Is it compatible with Logitech g920
How does this one compare to this one? ua-cam.com/video/iTA5T3kcZjM/v-deo.html
The SRS wins this duel. But it is more pricey, so it's fair enough.
@@SimRacingCorner this one is $105 au and the other is $300 au I think
Yeah, that sounds about right for the pricing.
