why does mine not work with my g920 (assetto corsa). Once i plug the shifter in the usb slot, the wheel dont work. is there files that needs to be extracted?
I gave it a try but had to send back. Th gear pattern registered as 1, 2, 2, 5, 5, 5 and R was reverse in full throttle only. Reached out to seller and they said not compatible with Windows 11. FWIW
I’ve had it for a year now banging gears left and right, the main shaft eventually can loose from the cheap mechanism, anyways quick fix just screw it back in with some lock tight. I mean it’s what you expect from a cheap Chinese shifter
Hey great review but I just got this and it is amazing like you said the only thing is that it won’t work in assetto corsa (it works in the menu for it but not in the actual game) I’ve also used it on other games and works amazing

I do have the Chinese QR1. I haven't installed it yet, so not tested yet. It's not compatible with the original Q1R, the size is slightly different. It is very well made and the two pieces join together perfectly. So I'll need to get it mounted with a wheel, to see if it's as good as it appears, which I do think it will be.

anyone know of a way to clamp this to a desk without bolting it on or if i have to bolt it on is there a way where taking it off and on wouldn’t be too hard
a g clamp and an f clamp, lol. i have had this for about a month and still have not gotten around to a proper mounting solution.
@@socks2441 I think you could probably get away with 3d printing a mount if you have a printer/makerspace nearby
can you mount it to rubber bushings instead of directly to the rig? so that it simulates that slight give in a real car.
Thanks for the review, order mine and cannot wait to arrive. There's another one in the same website as well it's four times the price, wonder how's that go. Great review nevertheless
Yeah, the price of this shifter is all over the place as it's sold by different vendors on AliExpress so you do need to shop around to find the lowest list price.
@@SimRacingCorner I've order in Australia than other countries or else end up paying extra with the delivery fees. Hopefully goes for a while. Also that I couldn't order on the computer or internet, had to install the app to buy it which never had to before which was odd.
so how is it for now? still great?
@@hellcatxcv1375 Haven't use it much but it's pretty good for what you pay for
looks a lot nicer than my thrustmaster that broke after 3 weeks. that stupid cable failed on mine
FYI, this shifter failed after 1 week. At least for me it did. Circuit board failed. Maybe I got a bad unit.
what are the resistance gates called? 2:18
Brilliant. My next purchase....
i have to get one of theese to compliment the T500RS i'm getting to replace my now dead G25
hello, iknow u cant compare it, but would u still prefer a moza shifter? just the price to performance
What about mounting choices though? Is there a way to mount this on a desk?
There is an optional table clamp you can buy separately.
i have this but i want to get a different knob, do you know the size of the thread i need? i heard M10 x 1.25 or M10x 1.5 i dont know which one please help
How easy did you find it to find a way to mount the shifter. Any idea if it would fit on the new sim lab shifter mount?
Two options:
1) 2 pieces (10cm) of profile and 2 angle brackets, to hang off your shifter mount arm. That will make the platform to bolt the shifter too.
2) 4 Angle brackets, mounted on either side of the shifter arm. Then bolt through the shifter mounting hole slots.
How can I mount this on a wheelstand pro thats made for a logitech shifter?
with m8 thread?
The beautiful aftermarket
1.Should I get the 6r or 7r
2.It is out of stock at the moment for anywhere that ships to the Uk but there is a link in the description which has it in stock is it safe to buy from there(it only has 3 orders)
You can buy a shifter extender online for 10-15 bucks and make it 100x better
This shifter is 70 USD in my country. Really tempting but wonder if it is a good investment for long term. How does it fare compare to TH8A?
I bought a shifter, but what happens is that my 7th and Reverse gears are being read as an axis, which means i can't bind them in Assetto Corsa. Is there any fix for this other than using AutoHotKey to rebind the axis to a button?
would one of the USB SKRS knobs work with this? They always just say for Thrustmaster and Logitech
Yes, it would work too.
Can i use this with the HORI Racing Wheel Apex
Can someone help I’m trying to set it up but i don’t know what software to install to use it
I just got the shifter and a day later it stopped working on my computer like it says it’s recognizing the driver but it’s not working on any of my racing games :(
why does mine not work with my g920 (assetto corsa).
FWIW
Not compatible with Windows 11??? That is so stupid
has the springs gotten less force overtime? does anyone know?
I’ve had it for a year now banging gears left and right, the main shaft eventually can loose from the cheap mechanism, anyways quick fix just screw it back in with some lock tight. I mean it’s what you expect from a cheap Chinese shifter
Hey great review but I just got this and it is amazing like you said the only thing is that it won’t work in assetto corsa (it works in the menu for it but not in the actual game) I’ve also used it on other games and works amazing
Make sure the car is a manual shifter, as Assetto Corsa restricts the inputs for authenticity. Also, try launching the game through Content Manager.
@@SimRacingCorner thank you so much! I don’t know why it didn’t work in normal assetto, but thanks!
Well done, looks like an incredible piece and considering the price, it's a no brainer! I don't really need an H pattern but might get this one just for those days. Any word on that alloy QR1 knockoff by chance?
I do have the Chinese QR1. I haven't installed it yet, so not tested yet. It's not compatible with the original Q1R, the size is slightly different. It is very well made and the two pieces join together perfectly. So I'll need to get it mounted with a wheel, to see if it's as good as it appears, which I do think it will be.
@@SimRacingCorner Seems like a good excuse for a new wheel! Not that we ever need one 🤣
@@elcid4130 Haha, that's something I'm not short of. I'll pop this QR on one of those when I get around to testing it.
Hi,do you have a link for the chinese QR1??thank you.
@@SimRacingCorner Can you check if it will work on xbox with a collective minds drive hub pls I just got one but it will not work on xbox so I want you to see if it will with a drive hub pls so I will not waste any money. pls and thankyou
what do you think now? it´ a good produt? i´m thinking buy, see confortable and a good price. I have a pxn wheel with automatic pedals service play. My doubt is the compatibility, cause the wheel have behind a input usb, but honesty I don't know his fuction.
It's good. On PC you can use it with any wheel.
I want this but its aliexpress, I'm a bit worried
I buy from AliExpress frequently with no issues.
@simracingcorner I'm going to order one but I want the 6r in black but do I get the one with sequence or without I don't understand the difference 🤔
The sequential feature is a 3D printed piece that you push onto the gear stick when you want to use it. You can see it in the picture. It basically restricts movement of the stick and enables it to whack the 3/4 gears without going all the way.
@@SimRacingCorner cheers dude so they've spelt it as sequence aha I get you cheers dude
@@mikeclegg9252 No worries, yeah, you do need to look past some of the ropey English with these listings.
@@SimRacingCorner just ordered mine with the 6r sequential £58 shipped to UK hopefully no taxes hahah
@@mikeclegg9252 Don't worry, there are no customs as it's under £135. In fact, I notice Chinese sellers usually mark a lower value on the customs forms.
Is there any shifter that can go with thrust master 458 Ferrari
It's a shame about the lack of console compatability, I'm a ps5 player and currently looking for a shifter to go with my g29. Will probably have to settle for the Logitech shifter
I thought if you're using a g29 on console you had to use their shifter
Seems amazing! I got one question though: Does it work with Forza Horizon 5?
how would i mount this to a table? that is my only problem otherwise i would buy one right now
There's is an optional table clamp for this
@@SimRacingCorner brilliant thanks
I got one of these shifters it worked great no problem for about 5 monthes and then it just stopped working entirely it doesn’t even get detected for no reason what so ever I was using it and then it just stopped nothing is broken and everything is plugging in I took it apart and there’s nothing wrong and my computer is entirely fine it’s this device but there’s nothing visually work I’m confused and about to throw it away

Do you get a mount in the box ?
i got the 7+r and it also came with sequential clip but it doesn't work
Where can you buy good feeling/looking aftermarket knobs for this shifter?
Hunt around eBay or AliExpress
Someone who owns one, could you measure the mounting plate dimensions? Would like to make a mount before it's delivered :)
on the aliexpress page it tells u its dimensions
@@MedienGulli I did not at the time of ordering, made a mount already though
Could somebody please explain to me what the difference between the shifters "with sequence" and the ones without is? I'm not a native English speaker and I'm not really sure which one I should buy.
Sequential, a sequential shifter only moves forward and back, to downshift from 5th to 3rd, you would press the shifter forward twice.
@Sim Racing Corner Can you check if it will work on xbox with a collective minds drive hub pls I just got one but it will not work on xbox so I want you to see if it will with a drive hub pls so I will not waste any money. pls and thankyou
Hey mate question tried this shifter with my moza r5 bundle but cant get it connected and when plugged in my moza r5 shakes any recommendations?
You shouldn't plug it into the wheelbase, it's not going to work. The shifter should be plugged into your PC only.
Is yours still working? I’m skeptical about buying it as it is a Chinese shifter and could just break after a week. If I don’t get this I was looking at the shh newt, which one should I get?
Yes still working. I haven't tried the SHH so can't comment.
@@SimRacingCorner there is a two month wait on the shh, would you still recommend the aliexpress shifter?
@@memistic2536 Yeah, it's working great.
Hey, is it compatible with my Fanatec CSL Elite wheelbase?
On PC, yes.
@@SimRacingCorner nice, i will buy it with your link mate
Except for the slightly better price, is there a reason why I should go for this shifter instead of the SHH one?
I haven't used the SHH so I don't feel I can offer an opinion here. Though I'm pretty sure one day I'll pick one up to review in the future.
What about neutral gear, does it even detect it? Or when putting the shifter on neutral, will it stay on the last selected gear instead?
As soon as a gear (micro switch) is no longer being pressed (detected) it's in neutral. Every shifter works the same in this respect.
@@SimRacingCorner Thanks for explanation!
