    For what it's worth, I pulled my old first gen dodge exactly ONE time. All I did was put the tallest hitch on the truck that I could get away with and put tractor weights in my tool box till I was exactly at max weight for the class. I finished third in a class of 7 or 8. I PROMISE you I had the least powerful truck there but I was a max weight. It just kept pulling the sled past where other guys were spinning out. There are a couple of videos on my channel if anyone wants to watch a painfully slow 12 valve do 12 valve stuff.

    What about using better rear shocks to help reduce the bounce? Race cars can tune their front shocks to reduce the rebound effect, it helps them hug the corner and turn. Awesome video and congratulations on the win! 🤘

    Boy you spanked 'em this time !!! You work paid off. Awesome camera shot of the rear suspension.
    I suspect that leaf spring compressing a bit more let's the overload leaf on the bottom help stiffen up the pack just a bit more to fight axle wrap and hop with those spacers removed.
    Fantastic work!!!!!
    Will they let you fog a bit of propane to 'er?

      Yep and I’ve got something in the works to take up that gap so we don’t loose hitch height!
      No injectables for my class…
      I’ve got some other upgrades for under the hood coming in the near future.

    I would love to drive out from Idaho and spend a little time out there having you guys put a bunch of high-end stuff in my 6.0. I've been wanting to put on a set of icon heads maybe do a regulated fuel system and figure out my EGR delete a little better with maybe a new y pipe. Have the odawg intake. Need a bigger turbo and bigger injectors. And would love to have my frame rails painted. Maybe even do one of the bulletproof diesel oil coolers. My 2006 is super clean and it's my favorite truck. There's a place in Shelley Idaho that does a great job on transmissions. But right now the truck runs perfectly. But at 26 pounds of boost with the coolant temperature around 210 I push a little bit of fluid out the radiator cap. But I don't have it happen under any other circumstances. But I figure it's just a matter of time. Got about 166K on the truck but it looks amazing. I bought a 2006 Cummins with 122,000 miles on it so I could afford to have my 6.0 worked on and brought up to what I want. I thought about buying a new 2023 truck but I just don't like the idea. Plus I have had some friends that have had their new trucks fail quite early.

    Yeah buddy! What kind of prize $ do events like this hand out for first?
    Truck seems pretty dialed, although theres always still areas to improve on. Makes me wonder how many feet could be gained if you didn't have to peddle it, especially at the start.
    These vids are awesome, appreciate you showing us the details. I kearn a lot from these. Keep them coming brudda!

      Factory 4.10 gearing, rear has the factory LSD, front is still open. Front true trac will be first since this factory LSD seems to be holding strong 💪

    Would you use fel-pro head gaskets with kdd cast ringed heads. Impossible to find anyone who knows!

    • @LeftLaneDiesels
      @LeftLaneDiesels  10 місяців тому +1

      KDD heads are designed to be used with OEM headgaskets. I would not recommend using felpro. They place the oring so that it meets the factory fire ring in the oem headgasket.

    • @LeftLaneDiesels

      @tomdelaney2480 11 місяців тому

      @@LeftLaneDiesels Excellent on the trans--I have an 05 and no issues--I also have have an 07 dodge 6.7 and I had to replace the converter with a dual clutch--both trucks have about 170--I have studs for the 6.0 when that day comes and watched the video of the high flow intake that sell for $900. When I do the heads I might consider that intake since it is CARB compliant, but I was wondering if it made a difference.

    What’s the weight class?

  • @travmit15
    @travmit15 11 місяців тому

    Depending on rules I’ve seen folks with massive ranch hand front bumpers. I’ve also seen folks gut the front ends and hang weights behind the grills. Like I say depends on rules and how willing you are to push those rules.

    • @LeftLaneDiesels
      @LeftLaneDiesels  11 місяців тому

      I just can’t bring myself to put a big hideous bumper out front haha however we are exploring the possibility of melting some lead and stuffing it in the crash bar up front.

    • @travmit15
      @travmit15 11 місяців тому

      @@LeftLaneDiesels we got lead car weights from a tire shop. Got a cast iron pan and a big fire and melted it down into small 50# weights. We were allowed to run a weight box so it wasn't an issue. But that's definitely the way to go. Weld up one end of the crash bar and pour the liquid in. I would guess you could easily do 100-200 pounds with the whole thing full. For a street class like yours I can't be as much help. We were allowed solid rear suspension, weight boxes gutting and cutting of the cab and bed. As much weight as far forward as possible wins a 4x4.

    How much money does it cost to build a sled pulling truck

    • @LeftLaneDiesels
      @LeftLaneDiesels  10 місяців тому +1

      There’s no good way to answer this. You are constantly changing and upgrading, it’s a forever budget. You could pull your stock truck or you could spend 100k and have a dedicated truck. It just a process.
