I do. I par-boil them for about 15-30 seconds depending on thickness. However, I've seen it done via the no-boil method, so play around and see what you like best.
HOLY SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH this looks good. Much appreciated. I was not aware those mixers had this attachment. I thought it was weird buying a machine to stir, but this is cool. Or could buy the pasta thing by itself. It is a time saver?
Here I am a middle aged Kiwi bloke whose decided that I want to be a pasta King! (Indeed, my Grandmother was right ). "You have a long way to go." she would often say abouth pretty much everything. Good ole Nana.😍 : But your simple steps and engaging style has provided much encouragement. Thanks, you have a new sub! Keep em coming.
Yes. Typically, I par-boil them first before assembling the lasagna and lay in a single layer on clean kitchen towels (to prevent sticking). Play around with a version of this to suit your schedule.
@ThecleverCarrot have you always made the lasagna noodles the same day or can you do this ahead of time. A few days/week /how do you store them? Also, do you always parboil the lasagna sheets ?
I want to make the lasagna noodles hours before I build my lasagne. Would the lasagna noodles be okay on the counter for a couple hours as long as I have it covered with parchment paper?
Yes. Moderate to cool room temperature is best (use your judgement). Do you par-boil your noodles? If so, you can do that in advance too, and build later.
Just flour and eggs. If the weight of your eggs comes up short, or if the dough feels dry due to ambient temperature, I do add water to correct the consistency.
This was so easy and fun to do, it's been a goal for 20 years to make lasagna noodles. And I finally did it!!! Thank you!!
Wow! So glad I could share in reaching that goal!! Have you made any lasagna recipes w/ your homemade lasagna noodles yet?!
You definitely do…
The pasta sheet looked awfully small- what size casserole dish would you use and how many layers would it make?
Question - do you have to boil the noodles after you make them? I assume no but wanted to confirm. Thank you!!
no, just put it in the oven with your ingredients!
I do. I par-boil them for about 15-30 seconds depending on thickness. However, I've seen it done via the no-boil method, so play around and see what you like best.
Your video is straightforward with easy to understand instructions but please keep the camera from moving around too much 😭
Just got a pasta maker , and gonna make lasagna, thanks for the tip , ironically, my grandparent's are named Raffa too😊
Do you have to cook them or something like that before using them?
Exactly what I was looking for, thanks. I plan on making lasagna and have the exact pasta making attachment that I haven’t used yet
Do you need to boil this pasta before building your lasagna?
Yeh for a couple minutes
Great question. I par-boil my sheets before assembling, about 30 seconds to 1 minute depending on thickness.
I've tested this tried and true it will melt if you don't par boil I'm literally texting my neighbor as we speak about this very topic!
Can you use stand up mixer with dough hook to mix the egg and flour?
YES you can, I always use it for making soup noodles for the whole year.

How much flour do is needed?
You'll need 300 g. I've updated the description to include the rest of the ingredients. Or, go to my blog post (linked in description).
Yes how much the don't say
Beautiful.
300 gram bloem heb ik net gezien en 4 eieren
No salt?
No salt. I follow the traditional recipe using flour and eggs/yolk only. I salt the pasta water generously :)
Can I use all purpose flour?
Yes! Make sure to go by weight if substituting.
Excellent and clear directions. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Would like to know how to do this without a pasta machine too

You're beautiful!
Omg thank you :)
Can I make the noodles a couple hours before I put the lasagna together?
Yes. Typically, I par-boil them first before assembling the lasagna and lay in a single layer on clean kitchen towels (to prevent sticking). Play around with a version of this to suit your schedule.

Excellent 🎉

Amazing! My daughter loves your video 😂
Awww, thank you! 💛
@Emilie Raffa TheCleverCarrot you're welcome! Thank you for the cool videos my kids and I enjoy watching, and cooking.

Can I use King Arthur’s bread flour or AP Flour instead?
Absolutely. You'll get excellent results. I use it all the time!
Do you add water for the dough?? Or just eggs and flour ??
Just eggs and flour. Like making egg noodles.
Just flour and eggs. If the weight of your eggs comes up short, or if the dough feels dry due to ambient temperature, I do add water to correct the consistency.
