Beautiful bike but guys on this side of the pond will say that the stem needs to be lowered to the very top of the steerer tube. The riders here in the US, that seem to be much better that I could ever be according to them, keep the stem as low as possible without spacers. So I don't ride with them.
Of course you like the colors, Conor, what's not to like about a black-and-red GCN livery on an Orbea frame in the pro peloton, very cool. And thanks for showing us his fuel and hydration schedule, a tidy chronicle on the stem top. And I am pleased to see that he's running 172.5 cranks, all the recent talk about beneficial shorter cranks has me confused because standing on long cranks is one of the joys of cycling for me, no knock on anyone who wants to spin shorter ones, just not my thing.
No the Oquo Wheels are hokked, thats eventually the Problem this Team had with Blowouts. If you ride two totally different Types of Rims in the same Team(one is hookless and the other one is hooked)Mistakes about the Tyre Pressure can eventually happen when you forget this Fact as a Mechanic in a stressfull Situation.
@@christoph3805 technically, mini-hook is not the same as hook. It's a (imho discutable) compromise between hookless and hooked. Some use it for e.g. wider (gravel) wheels, e.g. Campagnolo Levante.
Nothing has improved, on a quantifiable level for 99% of riders, in 10 years. The absolute nonsense marketing jargon is ridiculous. Put 99% of riders on Contador's S-Works SL4 and a modern, pick whatever bike, and they won't know the difference.
Disc brakes are the main change. Braking performance (your mileage may vary) and they're significantly heavier compared to rim brakes. I still recall the stories about teams adding weights to the frames so they could comply with UCI's minimum weight regulations on that era, but haven't heard anything like that since a few years ago.
2014 bikes are quite different, with disc brakes being the major improvement, which of course allows the average rider to have better braking. But it also let's more people ride nicer wheels without wearing out the rims, as wheels are no longer a consumable. Tubeless is another huge improvement since then, both in performance, and no longer getting flat tires. Narrower bars are commonplace which is another huge gain for the average joe, some very easy efficiency gains. And 1x gearing is a major change, saving money and hassle.

Thanks Conor and crew

Where are the Zipp's with the tyre blow off feature?
Very nice bike
My spirit animal is a diesel locomotive.
Isn’t the powermeter from power2max ? The cranks are from FSA for sure
Yes
You can own one too!!! For the amazing low low price of $25,000
They got rid of the hookless Zipp wheels.
Yes but are those wheels hookless?
@@JMcLeodKC711 mini hooks. Zipp hubs. Priced around 2000 euro. For that price, I feel there's better alternatives on the market.

hooked

There probably is not a jacket made with sleeves long enough for Conor. He needs a bike with a Giraffe on it!
When he stands up next to this bike it looks like he is reviewing a child's bike! Even though Arnauld is 1.82m!
We'll sew some extra bits on 🪡
I think the ones running a non aero bike that fits 32mm tires on wide rims have an advantage on the cobbles.. and this is where it will be decided.
nope. aero matters more
Interesting! What is it about aero that you don't think matters on the cobbles?
Perfect place shifter
& what is that bit of inner tube around the right fork leg for? The race transponder?
Yep!
Orbea says 30 mm is max tire width. Arnaud is riding 30mm in the back, so maximum? What's the tire clearance? Can you fit even wider tires?
I think my spirit beast is Conor😂😂😂
Missed the one thing people want to see - tire clearance!! C'mon, lads. Also, heal up ADL. We already miss your panache!
The Swahili word for giraffe is twiga. I think that fits Conor
Very good looking bike, if I wasn't riding the worlds lightest madone SLR id probably have one of those framesets.
Do you sprinkle holier-than-thou powder on your cornflakes in the morning?
nah, im not MVDP. Just EPO...@@zygmuntthecacaokakistocrat6589
That is one big claim! How light?
ua-cam.com/video/j0P-bZEPHCU/v-deo.html aiming for 6.1-6.2 with the new bars, my other wheels and new cassette@@gcntech
Why is there a piece of inner tube around the fork leg?
This holds the transponder for the time keeping.
@@chrisridesbicycles Cool -- I was going through the comments hoping someone would answer that!
Where are the zipps 😂
Stem length and bar width?
How much does it weigh?
A bit less than the 2 water bottles
No Freehub soundcheck?
That looks like a power2max powermeter with FSA cranks, not an FSA one.
Are these hookless as well?
Giraffe decal on el alto...
I got a bunch bike tools I don’t use and never will. Why? 🤷🏻♂️
#AskGcnTech
Who is Arnold?
A rising star in the classics 👌 He packs a fast finish and can climb too - perfect for the cobbles
@@gcntech That sounds suspiciously like Arnaud. But pretty sure the guy Conor is talking about was a bodybuilder.
Girreffe 😂😂😂
Would.
No more zipp

Wow Thats a lot of salt
Airplanes have a cockpit, bicycles do not.
Look up the definition.
Horrible team with horrible mechanics. How the hell do 2 of their riders destroy Zipps by riding into rocks? Must be an Obea thing.
How is damaging wheels from a third party the fault of the frame manufacturer? :D
Aero a load of bollocks, a cockpit is an enclosed space which that is not, heavy junk
