When the Doobie Brothers first hit the scene it was their *rich* vocal harmonies that did IT for me! Thank you for the reaction, you were a joy to watch, take care!
DOOBIE BROTHERS PLAYLIST: "Long Train Running" - "Listen to the Music" - "China Grove" - “What a Fool Believes” - “It Keeps You Runnin” - "Taking it to the Streets" - “ Black Water” - “ Rockin’ Down the Highway” - “What a Fool Believes” - “Minute by Minute” - “Take Me in Your Arms” (+ Check Out “Sina Jamming with The Doobie Brothers”)
The Doobie's original lineup was one versatile unit--the 2nd drummer switches to congas on this one, then rhythm guitarist busts out a harmonica while Johnston plays that train-like chugga-chugga lead riff and sings the lead with southern boogie cool..The song got them a lot of fans in the black community, I was only 12 , and every soul brotha and sista in my hood was diggin on it. Excellent pick and fun watching ya!!
This had to be one of your most fun reactions. Your joy while moving to this was evident all the way through! Thank you for continuing to crank out great content!!! 🎶🎸🎙💙☺
This reaction video just shot up to #1 on my all-time favorites. Why? 1) One of my top rock songs ever. 2) You don't interrupt it. 3) You movin; and groovin' to the music is pure eye candy! Thank you!!!
Of course i love this song....but this is my most favorite reaction you've done so far. So fun to watch you just cuttin' loose n loving it ! Thank you ! ❤️
Amazing how they totally captured the sound, motion and feel of a train running down the track, especially with that harmonica solo. Brilliant song full of positive vibes. Some fine dancin' "DayOne".
OMG" Rockin Down the Highway" is another song that is a top down on car crusin down the road hence the song name haha. Great reaction as usual and glad you got cheered up. Beautiful smile Angela.
Christmas Eve '76 got "Captain and Me" album as a present..put it on the turntable...wow!! this and China Grove back-to-back...changed my (musical) life forever..
No doubt in my mind that you were going to like this one. The groove is all you! - The story goes that they used to play this jam live before there were any actual lyrics to it. They would just kind of ad lib. When they did, it always involved trains. It wasn't until later that they decided maybe they should write actual lyrics for it and here we are.
"Without love, where would you be now" I loved this song the first time I heard it way back! The DB have a lot of hits but this is my fav! Thanks for reacting to it! ❤
This song came out the year I got out of high school, and at the end of August 6 of us from high school had joined the Air Force and was now at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas for Basic Training. Grand Funk came out with We're An American Band. Great memories.
I am only in introductory part but I would say that right off the bat if you want to feel uplifted checkout the early Chicago hit, feeling stronger everyday. And perhaps even eagles already gone although that one doesn't pull any punches. But they both just make you want to get up out of your seat and move around and try to sing along at the top of your lungs because in both cases it's fantastic high-level singing.
Couldn't wait to click on to see this review and then you said you hoped it would be uplifting and I thought oh Angela just you wait until the first beat sounds and you will be smiling away..and I was right..fantastic song..an absolute classic banger..please try and review more Doobies and the wonderful Michael McDonald from The Doobies too..especially On my Own with Patti LaBelle..great review..🇬🇧💞🙏✝️😃👍👏👍👏🎶🎹🇺🇸
Although McDonald’s was a force that came to define the Doobies(as well as the 80’s) the early stuff with Johnston and Simmons was great. That classic San Jose “NoCal” sound
I love "Long trainTrain Running" even more than the Michael McDonalds Doobie Bros. Songs. This one is my absolute favorite. Great to see you enjoyed it as well.
I truly love every`s Angela reactions to a timeless classics, like this one as well, and a very interesting point of view the mention about similarities with Steely Dan, somehow a clever comment. The guitar funky-rock style intro is the peak of the entire song, in mi opinion, and this one rides along with those licks making it a superb musical performance, absolutely. Thanks Angela again for your lovely reaction.
U got moves earth angel,,but your beauty is unique Anglea, beautiful hair, the smile and your captivating eyes make u absolutely adorable, sorry I'm very observant I just had to compliment your numerous qualities
They are one of my favorite groups! I'm unable to pick one favorite! I dig them before Michael McDonald and with him! I believe they are California rockers from San Jose CA! Love is mega and ultra powerful! Toodles!
An excellent Doobie Bros. song is "Dark Eyed Cajun Woman" from their Captain And Me LP/CD. Another real good song that many people don't know about is "Another Park Another Sunday." You'll find very good live versions of this particular song.
Great reaction. Plenty of older Doobies stuff that is great. When M McDonald joined, they moved toward jazzy stuff, but earlier music was more rocking’. I like both, but they are different.
gr8 song! i dig the songs you react to. pretty freakin awesome. i'm an acoustic guy. (and a rock guy as well. RUSH!!!) give the jorma kaukonen song "genesis" from the quah album a listen. such a beautiful song and jorma can play the acoustic like nobody's business! like i said before. your awesome girl. top reactor!
Huge fan since I heard Jesus is Just Alright with Me. in 1971, while I was on board my ship serving in the U.S. Navy. It took a long time to see them in concert. Why, I don't know, but it was 2009.
Rock's coolest song. "Black Water" is so good too. Have you ever reacted to Donna Summer, Disco's Queen? You'd love LAST DANCE, and MACARTHUR PARK. Especially her live versions.
Hi Angela. I am a subscriber to your channel. I'm an older black man who likes country music. One of the most under-rated country songs is Andy Griggs "Tonight I Wanna Be Your Man. Beautiful ballad.....please play and react to it. You will not be disappointed. Thanks in advance
The Doobies are one of those bands that had a huge sound change, and hits before and after their sound changed. Just like early Chicago is different from later Chicago, the early Doobies are quite different from the later Doobies. And this song is from the early Doobies. Anyway, listen to the early and later music of those two bands. I'd say "What a Fool Believes" and "Takin' It to the Streets" are good examples of later Doobies.
There are two different bands called the "Doobie Brothers," this one is the original with Tom Johnston, one of the lead singers/writers. After he left in the mid 1970's, Michael McDonald had been added and took over as lead singer gradually, and infused his writing into he band and it totally changed the sound of the band. Many said okay it's good, but it's NOT the Doobie Brothers anymore, it's Michael McDonald and his back up band. Then after that 2nd wave of success they broke up. This is the original Doobie Brothers sound. Although they did do a song under Michael McDonald called "Takin' It to the Streets" which DID use the original style and sound of the original Doobie Brothers.
The Doobie Brothers will always be cool to listen to ❤
Nothing better than good music thank goodness for the music from the 1960’s 1970’s…love it ❤️🙏🏻☮️
Thanks to Bill for picking the original version and for cheering Angela up and giving her cause to chair dance. Love it when she does it!
Yes , that disco version floating around is straight trash ( in my humble opinion ) !
Yes, she's a great chair dancer! And no doubt on a dance, or kitchen floor too.
When the Doobie Brothers first hit the scene it was their *rich* vocal harmonies that did IT for me!
Thank you for the reaction, you were a joy to watch, take care!
The Doobie Brothers were THAT GROUP in the 70's.. You look like you having fun grooving to this!
One of the best songs by this great band. Have always enjoyed them! Glad you liked this!!😊
The Doobies are one of those bands you can't go wrong with.
The harmonica solo really adds to this song. One of my favourites from back in the day.
without love where would you be now? … never gets old ✨
Some of the greatest chair dancing ever! You're the mostest fabtastic, Angela!

Gotta add Dark Eyed Cajun Lady or Clear As The Driven Snow, hell everything off The Captain & Me album
Off "The Captain and Me." Yes! This actually crossed over to the R&B charts back in the day.
Most gorgeous lady ever!
This had to be one of your most fun reactions. Your joy while moving to this was evident all the way through! Thank you for continuing to crank out great content!!! 🎶🎸🎙💙☺
Thomas....I wish she and others would just get up and dance!!
So glad your hearing the original version nit the remix. Love this band.
This reaction video just shot up to #1 on my all-time favorites. Why?
1) One of my top rock songs ever.
2) You don't interrupt it.
3) You movin; and groovin' to the music is pure eye candy! Thank you!!!
Hi Angela, "Long Train Runnin'" by The Doobie Brothers is an absolute "BANGER!!!" Thank you so much for this reaction too!!!
Unpopular opinion, always preferred the Doobie Brothers pre Michael McDonald
I agree … they were more rock with Tom Johnson which is their strength… guitars over keyboards for this band
I love both sounds. Can't and don't want to chose between them.
Oh it’s the only correct opinion😅
Love this song / band. I'm in my recliner dancing with you 🎶 💕 and I'm 74years old
Of course i love this song....but this is my most favorite reaction you've done so far. So fun to watch you just cuttin' loose n loving it ! Thank you ! ❤️

Looks like you found it uplifting one of my favorite Doobies songs...by far.
So many good songs on this album - The Captain And Me.
Great drums, guitar, and harmonica. You said it: Jammin'.
Made me smile watching your reaction to hearing such a great song for the first time! Love it
Christmas Eve '76 got "Captain and Me" album as a present..put it on the turntable...wow!! this and China Grove back-to-back...changed my (musical) life forever..
2 words " old school " ❤ u girl 😊

I knew immediately this song would cheer you up. Great tune

"Without love, where would you be now" I loved this song the first time I heard it way back! The DB have a lot of hits but this is my fav! Thanks for reacting to it! ❤

The 60’s and 70’s.
Glorious.
Definitely uplifting for you Angela!!!
This song just sucks you in right away, like a vacuum cleaner. Stone cold classic. This or What a Fool Believes is my favorite Doobie Brothers song.
I went to high school in San Jose, California with the lead guitarist Pat Simmons, many years ago
That's pretty damn funky for sure.
I remember this in the Summer in Boston when I was a little Kid.
Oh! .One of my favorites of the Doobie Brothers😄👍
Favorite song by the Doobie Brothers. Awesome groove.
Can't help but smile when Doobie Brothers are cranking it out!😂
Couldn't wait to click on to see this review and then you said you hoped it would be uplifting and I thought oh Angela just you wait until the first beat sounds and you will be smiling away..and I was right..fantastic song..an absolute classic banger..please try and review more Doobies and the wonderful Michael McDonald from The Doobies too..especially On my Own with Patti LaBelle..great review..🇬🇧💞🙏✝️😃👍👏👍👏🎶🎹🇺🇸
A serious contender for song of the week !
Although McDonald’s was a force that came to define the Doobies(as well as the 80’s) the early stuff with Johnston and Simmons was great. That classic San Jose “NoCal” sound
Doobie-Doobie-Doobie-Do...YEAH!

I love "Long trainTrain Running" even more than the Michael McDonalds Doobie Bros. Songs.
This one is my absolute favorite.

Love the Doobie Brothers, especially with Michael McDonald. Great song and reaction. 😊
That was one of my favorite bands in high school! ❤️
I have to say if you live in Angela's neighborhood your truly blessed what a jolly soul she is and the tune is a cracker too.
I truly love every`s Angela reactions to a timeless classics, like this one as well, and a very interesting point of view the mention about similarities with Steely Dan, somehow a clever comment. You can never go wrong with the Doobie Brothers!!
Great song and group. Totally different after Micheal McDonald joined, but equally good.
U got moves earth angel,,but your beauty is unique Anglea, beautiful hair, the smile and your captivating eyes make u absolutely adorable, sorry I'm very observant I just had to compliment your numerous qualities
They still kickin' it today! Just saw them in May here in Hawaii and they haven't lost a step!! 🤙

Your enthusiasm is contagious. Great reaction, as usual. Keep on r'actin .
It's good see you getting into the music
not every song is "phone worthy" .......but you are always "watch worthy" -- this song is phone worthy
Check out their song "Another Park , Another Sunday" , not one of their biggest but great song and great vibe!
How about that 50 years ago. Loved then when I was 20 now I’m 70 and still love it. Thank you.
The Doobies' best song by far! Love it!
This might be the only Doobie Bros song I enjoy!

Great week of good classic songs; great grove of a song, great jam; The Doobie Brothers were a great band
That's a dancin' song!!!
Black Water should be next. Not a tear jerker but very atmospheric. It will take you on a mind trip to the bayou.
Love the Joint Bros
❤❤❤❤
The Doobies just sound like summer sunlight.
Great band.I love a few of their songs
Great reaction. Plenty of older Doobies stuff that is great. When M McDonald joined, they moved toward jazzy stuff, but earlier music was more rocking’. I like both, but they are different.

Rock's coolest song. "Black Water" is so good too. Have you ever reacted to Donna Summer, Disco's Queen? You'd love LAST DANCE, and MACARTHUR PARK. Especially her live versions.
Anything from 70s Doobs is road worthy, just make a Playlist of them, and hit it!
I like this song very much. The brothers know how to play well and the song flows nicely.
great song!
