I’m re-watching this after many months. I have come a long way as a pilot and UA-camr. Seat time is so important. I invite you to see more of my content throughout the months of 2024. Which video is your favorite? At the time I’m writing this I have 103
We will never forget out 1st solo, mine was KBDR in 2002, one of the best landings ever. I thought something went wrong during my flare as I never felt the plane land, my brother was filming, and I greased it in. My CFI was quoted as saying "Oh, look...he's showing off...."
Mine was at KDXR in 1999 in a Cessna 152. I was a little nervous taxiing to the runway, but once I was on the takeoff roll I acknowledged to myself that I knew what I was doing and the trepidation went away. I ended up doing two good landings and my CFI congratulated me.
Nice video! Liked the pop up when the controller is speaking. This should be good material for students preparing for a solo cross country flight. A couple small corrections: - It’s south-southwest (a direction), not “south/southwest” - It’s altimeter, not “altimiter” - There are several ATC instructions where you must read back the entire instruction along with your tail number and runway number. These include “hold short,” “line up and wait,” “cleared for takeoff,” “cleared touch and go (or stop and go),” “cleared for the option,” and “cleared to land.” It’s this rule that caused tower to make you repeat the landing clearance. Nice job on the aviating and communicating, and on making the video! 👍 -Connecticut CFI
Thanks for the feedback, and detailed analysis. I figured out this past summer that I still have a lot to learn about flying. Today I learned what it means to be a safety pilot for the 1st time. I assisted with 3 RNAV approaches class D and Class C airports. There is so much to aviation. I love it. Thanks for the spelling corrections as well.
