I love how you're all "I'm not really a metal collector" then flash some heavy stuff like the first Bathory. :) I'm a bit like you, all over the place musically, but metal was important in my life early on, and taught me to collect records. Funny enough, I live in Paris and my office mate is from NC and knows Matthews. Maybe I'll ask her to swing by your store and get me something! :)
How about Opeth? If you're new to them, they might be a surprise awaiting your ears. Prog influenced death/black metal right from the start, but kept becoming more proggy throughout their discography. No more gutteral vocals on the last four albums, which always irritated the hardcore fans, yet probably won them some new ones. Some of their records were produced by Steven Wilson from Porcupine Tree; first one being "Blackwater Park" in 2000. That and the album just before ("Still Life") were their two best!
Been waiting for a metal video from you. I collect 80's metal - that's what I grew up with and love. Your Black Sabbath, Pantera and Metallica 🤯 Awesome.
Great video as usual. At a car boot in 1987 I found a Vertigo swirl of Master of Reality (I confess back then I didn't know how collectable the swirls were and I already had a copy) but it was the first press flip top sleeve with the poster which is why I bought it.......for £3! If ever I need a new car, it will be sold!!
Great video! If you’re looking for more stuff like trouble and pentagram check out Candlemas “epicus doomicus metallicus”. Also check out Death “Leprosy” and Megadeth “Rust in Peace”. Those albums are absolutely perfect!
Great that you showed your metal collection. I liked your mix of very well known albums (for me) and the more obscure and (local?) ones. I like you passion and enthousiasm about a wide range of styles of music
Nice picks Dylan. If you don't already own Pentagram - Sub-Basement (2001), seek it out. Highly underrated. Also another gem is the Lars Ulrich curated comp from 1990: New Wave Of British Heavy Metal '79 Revisited. 2lps of the best late 70s early 80s British Metal. 🤘
I’m always learning, I learn proportionally to how much I enjoy something. A lot of metal sounds the same to me, and is unremarkable, but some good ones catch me every so often.
Max Warrior was a band in the 80’s I saw many times. The bassist Perry Richardson and the lead vocalist Carl Snare were friends of mine and I sang with the band a few times. They were excellent live ! The 2 aforementioned members were later in the band Firehouse. They played all over the Southeast I mainly saw them in Myrtle Beach and Charlotte.
Nice video. That Iron Maiden poster however doesn’t have anything to do with the ‘Live After Death’ album it came with. It’s the artwork for their ‘Holy Smoke’ single which came out 5 years later. So it’s okay to seperate them 😉
Thanks for this video. One other comment below already said the band *MAXX WARRIOR became FireHouse* later who sold millions of records and the singer C.J. Snare or (Carl Snare as he was in Maxx Warrior) just had died earlier this month unfortunately, Dillon. (Also Perry Richardson, the bassist was in Maxx Warrior, FireHouse and is today in STRYPER). PS: I do own the SAVATAGE album on Par Records with the blue ship you have mentioned and it is signed by the whole band incl. Criss Oliva... *Rest in Peace, CJ Snare and Criss Oliva*
Funny story there at the end man. About the lady with the "mint position" Ozzy collection. Reminds me of my friend Herb when we were about 12 or 13.he called some record expert on the local rock station telling him how he has contracts from The Who from Woodstock, papers, pictures signatures etc. I think it took them a minute to get through his thick skull. And you know he's still a little sore about that to this very day.. i think he may have been laughed at 😂
That Bathory record really ought to go to the right home (prefatably mine). Mine was stolen age 17... The price went through the roof pretty early, even before the vinyl renaissance (grifter market), kicked in. They didn't get the cover, which i framed. Anyway, you know die hard extreme metal fans... we find it sacrosanct for anyone who isn't in for life to hoard such a prized piece. Reissues just don't cut it for the TRVE. 🤘
Dude!.. many thanks Dillon🤘 edit: its so interesting that you didn't grow up on metal.nothing wrong with it, but i bet people assume a lot about you.that being said, youve got a solid hard rockin' slab of metal that some people that DID grow up with it will be a little jealous of
Man was I happy to see you show that MindFunk record. I've been a fan since 91' you really should get Dropped and People who Fell from the Sky. And yes they are a very underrated band, so good. Billy Goat is one of my favorites. I do not have any on vinyl yet, but I will
Hi, I love your HEavy Metal record collection. Such rare records. I love Metallica and Black Sabbath and all the metal bands. What a great MEtal collection. Super awesome! ♥♥🙂🙂
I'm jealous of your Sabbath and we haven't even gotten to it yet, lol. I've got a spotty selection of the regular catalog and one Dutch release (I think).
Dillon, you definitely have a very cool and classic heavy metal collection. There are probably only a handful of records there that I can match and keep up with. If you want a good Heavy Metal suggestion to get a taste of different artists and something that is fairly newly released, check out "Iommi" by Tony Iommi as producer, working with artists like Philip Anselmo, Dave Grohl and Ozzy. In my top 5 Metal records for the last 2 years
YESS!! Metal is my favorite genre! Although I don't really care for older metal, I mostly go for stuff that came out 2000 or later. Half of my (humble) collection is metal records. Definitely check out Caligula's Horse - Charcoal Grace and An Abstract Illusion - Woe. Anything by Opeth is a MUST as well :D
Great collection some great rarities in there. I love metal comps been collecting them the last few years. That Metal blade box is really cool. There is another metap charity record for a footbal stadium disaster. I cant remember what its called but worth checking out. I recommend the ruthless metal UA-cam channel hes got some great videos. Also metal school youtube is great too, great little documentaries. I think you would dig (so you probably already know them) Orange Goblin i like the early albums best. Also Rigor Mortis - Rigor Mortis is a thrash great, friends with pantera. Hidden gem.
I live in Aurora Illinois, two blocks from the duplex that TROUBLE rehearsed in during the late 70's before being signed. We lost Eric Wagner a few years ago, but still have Bruce Franklin sightings from time to time. Outsiders associate us with Wayne's World, but I respectfully feel it should be for Trouble instead. Doom metal royalty!!
Love it when a video sends me on a journey like you just did. Got to the part no Stars and thought I will come back to that but then ypu mention Pentagram and I go watch the full doc immediately. Then a rip of the full 47min stars laser disc. Stars ecen has Spinal tap & Y&T.
I’d recommend you give Control Denied a listen, it’s a side project from death metals straight up father Chuck Schuldiner where he did the kinda stuff he truly wanted to do but couldn’t in Death as he felt he couldn’t do the singing and such, it’s like death metal mixed with power metal with Judas Priest/dio type vocals almost (rob halford was actually asked to join but couldn’t from what I’ve seen) with awesome technical and melodic instrumentation from phenomenal players. You might like it, I’d also say TOOL but you likely already heard them before, however if not it’s amazing, psychedelic meets prog metal great atmosphere and amazing production quality. I’d try Deftones too if you also somehow haven’t already, white pony and Saturday night wrist, kinda shoegaze type stuff mixed with alt rock and metal, very atmospheric Also recommend Gojira, amazing death metal with sick instrument playing killer riffs and drums, and awesome atmosphere. I’d start with From Mars to Sirius, The Way of All Flesh, and Fortitude And if you also haven’t heard them before, DEFINITELY check out Down, badass stoner groove metal stuff with a bit of doom and sludge mixed in, from panteras singer Phil Anselmo, with corrosion of conformity’s guitarist pepper Keenan, crowbar’s Kirk weindstein, and Eyehategod’s + also corrosion of conformity’s drummer jimmy bower. Rex brown also shows up, Down II and NOLA are amazing albums, I think you’d really like them honestly if you like sabbath-esque stuff and sludge, stoner, doom etc Also gonna suggest trying Meshuggah, amazing technical groovy extreme metal stuff, absolute precise stuff I’d try Immutable and The Violent Sleep of Reason albums, Bleed is of course a staple song too And I VERY MUCH recommend Devin Townsend, his stuff is AMAZING, his voice is incredible, absolutely listen to Kingdom and Deadhead, and Stormbending from him and Love? from Strapping Young Lad
I have a first pressing of the first Metal Massacre album. Bought it used back in the 90s for $15. Not in the best shape, but it plays all the way through. Also have an original Black Album pressing I bought back in 91 first week it came out.
If you want the very best sounding Metallica Black Album, get the US first pressing. A clean copy of that will blow your windows out. Highly Recommend!
Hi Dillon, like your channel and have never commented before. You showed a first rate metal selection and good emphasis on Slayer's 'South of Heaven', which could be the greatest metal album ever recorded. But you should really get hold of the 1986 Slayer album 'Reign in Blood' - a true gem. Monster Magnet are not really a metal band - more heavy psych stoner rock. The first few Monster Magnet records are the greatest shit. 'Spine of God' (1992) and 'Dopes to Infinity '(1995) are the standouts. I've always thought Metallica's 'Kill 'Em All' is more speed punk than metal but I'm sure many people would disagree. The debut Iron Maiden record is a straight up winner! Also wanted to mention Black Sabbath. You are right that early Sabbath is not really heavy metal and shouldn't be regarded like that. They were a heavy rock band in a thriving scene of UK heavy rock and only hit the metal scene when Ronnie James Dio took over as vocalist. Also give Megadeth a chance. The debut album 'Killing is my Business...And Business is Good' (1985) is the right stuff and a good compliment to the early Metallica when Dave Mustaine was in that band - apologies for the long post!
My dearest metal posession is a fully signed Black sabbath - TYR. Arguably my favourite Tony Martin era album at that. I'd say my Japanese issue of sabbath bloody sabbath comes close though
Metal is almost all I look for 😂 hard to find near me if it’s not the same typical stuff over and over I got an original pressing of master of puppets which is my favorite album of all time 3 years ago and that’s what basically got me interested into looking for records at all Found a limited 500 or 1000 pressing at my nearest record store for a band I never even heard of and really liked what I heard off the album so that was a pretty cool experience I had the luck of finding the last two Tool albums I needed in the last year and they’re my second favorite band ever, they’re bootlegs of course but that’s all you’ll get of them, Ænima and 10,000 days; I got 10,000 days a few months ago then the same place posted a reel of a picture disk bootleg of it so I just had to trade mine for it (figure it’s already a bootleg, can’t sound that much worse), then shortly after (two or three months ago) my brother, our friend and I found another 10k days bootleg FROM YOU GUYS 😂 was playing as we walked in and I didn’t even notice it get taken off and put on the front right of the room after it ended, I immediately handed it to our friend Oh and I saw you got Death’s Symbolic a bit ago, I STILL have crippling depression that it was only 100 bucks and I couldn’t go up and get it 😭 it’s the ONLY death album I still need, I ain’t ever gonna find it, except for online for 2-300 dollars 🥲 I would kill for an original Justice with the sticker too Not technically metal but I just the other day also found a friggin Alice In Chains Tripod, nearly crapped myself even if it was just the white bootleg (still never found one ever till then) and it’s one of my favorite bands and the last album needed from them so that was sweet
Do you get much early Death Metal brought into your shop? The Carolinas seem to be big into metal. You ever see, like, any early Cannibal Corpse, Death, Morbid Angel?
Dude you cant say you are not a Metal Collector then show us some of the rarest or the rare early Metal records LOL...Face it Dillion you are a Metal Head just like the rest of us, you just also listen and collect other stuff as well. Great Metal collection some grails in those stacks for sure!! Good stuff!!
I have the Black Sabbath Ontario album, purple vinyl, it's nice to own, but that's all, I won't play it very often... But no Candlemass, Forbidden, Sacred Reich, Gorefest, Death, Heathen, Sabbat, Sepultura, Annihilator???
@@noblerecords It's a great collection for sure! I love music from Baroque to Death Metal, via reggae, dub, techno, whatever, I judge music by it's sound not by genre. But getting into metal I think these bands are really worth getting into 😉
Dude has the only cirith ungol I don't have and doesn't even care about it. hahaha Cool video though, some nice stuff there and a few other things I don't have. I mainly collect metal and have about 2000 metal records.
@@noblerecords No worries.....just trying to pass some hardcore knowledge... bro youre knowledge of vinal is awesome, i enjoy the program, look forward to next one!
No, I had gutter ballet but a friend wanted it more than me, so I traded something for it, and reign in blood hasn’t come around for me at the right time.
Are you looking to sell anything from this collection? I sold my whole collection about 12 years ago and just started collecting again. I'd be interested in the danzig, samhain and maiden stuff.
Hi Dillon. How much would accept for the Trouble album. A great record. Saw them at the Marquee club in London's Soho on that tour. One of the best gigs I've ever been to! Great channel by the way. 🤘👍
The Walmart Metallica albums were mastered by Chris Bellman, that’s why they sound good……I’m surprised you like Slayer…….fuckn Slayer 🤘🏻 my favorite band 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Megadeth Cryptic Writings is rare )) only UK ORG exists and in your BS collection you didn't show Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Hate or simply forgot? ))) anyways nice video and unusual mix ))
Hey bro Real quick, i know you run across bootlegs a good bit...here is one for your sabbath collection."parisian bitch" 9-30-83 espace ballard Paris, france. Its a sbd from the born again tour W/ian gillian-tony iommi-bev bevans-geezer butler. I mean love ozzy 9:37 sab, love dio sab. You'll definitely like that Cirith Ungol record. Check out their albums released before that one you own as well.

All of the Cirith Ungol albums are great!
The self-titled Trouble from 1990 is one of my all time favorites.

I'm glad I can keep you looking for that promo sticker on that sabbath. Hope you enjoy it!
I saw Pentagram play in Baltimore during the Last Rites tour. It was fantastic. Underrated band.
No Judas Priest? I would have thought you would have some Priest since they started out in the 70s.
Max Warrior was a band in the 80’s I saw many times. The bassist Perry Richardson and the lead vocalist Carl Snare were friends of mine and I sang with the band a few times. Nice video. That Iron Maiden poster however doesn’t have anything to do with the ‘Live After Death’ album it came with. It’s the artwork for their ‘Holy Smoke’ single which came out 5 years later. So it’s okay to seperate them 😉

- Tower - Shock to the System (Hardrock/Metal Mix with female vocals)
- Candlemass (first three)

Dude, that's where the money is. Metal and punk goes for a lot right now. That first Bathory record kills.
We should trade. I've got over 4000 albums, I've been collecting since 1971. I have a TON of classic rock. I can always use more metal.
Ooh! I had that No Remorse pressing but I don't think I do anymore.
I'm jealous of your Sabbath and we haven't even gotten to it yet, lol. I've got a spotty selection of the regular catalog and one Dutch release (I think).

Superb condition of your metal records🤘
LOVED IT !!
My dearest metal posession is a fully signed Black sabbath - TYR. Arguably my favourite Tony Martin era album at that.
I'd say my Japanese issue of sabbath bloody sabbath comes close though
Maxx Warrior is from NC and eventually became Firehouse.
I didn't get into metal till I have head a radio station called midnight metal and watching Headbangers ball
Why no Sabbath Bloody Sabbath?? That’s my personal favorite Sabbath record.
I was wondering if I’d see the Leather Nunn record, but alas :)
Now I wanna see your acdc collection
Metal is almost all I look for 😂 hard to find near me if it’s not the same typical stuff over and over
I got an original pressing of master of puppets which is my favorite album of all time 3 years ago and that’s what basically got me interested into looking for records at all
Found a limited 500 or 1000 pressing at my nearest record store for a band I never even heard of and really liked what I heard off the album so that was a pretty cool experience
I had the luck of finding the last two Tool albums I needed in the last year and they’re my second favorite band ever, they’re bootlegs of course but that’s all you’ll get of them, Ænima and 10,000 days; I got 10,000 days a few months ago then the same place posted a reel of a picture disk bootleg of it so I just had to trade mine for it (figure it’s already a bootleg, can’t sound that much worse), then shortly after (two or three months ago) my brother, our friend and I found another 10k days bootleg FROM YOU GUYS 😂 was playing as we walked in and I didn’t even notice it get taken off and put on the front right of the room after it ended, I immediately handed it to our friend
Oh and I saw you got Death’s Symbolic a bit ago, I STILL have crippling depression that it was only 100 bucks and I couldn’t go up and get it 😭 it’s the ONLY death album I still need, I ain’t ever gonna find it, except for online for 2-300 dollars 🥲
I would kill for an original Justice with the sticker too
Not technically metal but I just the other day also found a friggin Alice In Chains Tripod, nearly crapped myself even if it was just the white bootleg (still never found one ever till then) and it’s one of my favorite bands and the last album needed from them so that was sweet

Have you checked out 'Youngblood supercult' yet bud? High plains on vinyl is a must!!!
I added it to my list to stream, listened to the first song, it’s killer so far! Thanks!
@noblerecords monolith. That opening riff is killer, enjoy bud.
From Newcastle UK.
Metallica: Music For Nations pressings are the best.

Do you have any budgie records and if so, which ones? I’m assuming you do. They are slowly becoming a favorite of mine
Oh yeah I have 7 of theirs, love them!
I’m still on Black Sabbath but missing Judas Priest stuff
Dude has the only cirith ungol I don't have and doesn't even care about it. hahaha Cool video though, some nice stuff there and a few other things I don't have. I mainly collect metal and have about 2000 metal records.
🤣 I promise I’ll listen to it. With a cover like that kn metal blade, I had to bring it home
If you ever sell that Possessed LP I’m your huckleberry.
Finally metal!! 🙂🙏👌🤘
when is the punk/hardcore video?
Samhain.......novembers coming fire.....great album....so is initium....never heard the term samhain 3
As I said, I’m not as knowledgeable on this stuff, that’s what it says on the cover. Cut me some slack 🤣
@@noblerecords
No worries.....just trying to pass some hardcore knowledge... bro youre knowledge of vinal is awesome, i enjoy the program, look forward to next one!
No ‘Doomsday Recitation’ ? 🤘
I’ve had it in the past. Sold it a long time ago
9:18 🤘🤘🤘
Maxx warrior had members of firehouse
You don’t have Savatage - Gutter Ballet or Slayer - Reign in Blood?
No, I had gutter ballet but a friend wanted it more than me, so I traded something for it, and reign in blood hasn’t come around for me at the right time.
Heavy metal 🤘🏻 is awesome
Are you looking to sell anything from this collection? I sold my whole collection about 12 years ago and just started collecting again. I'd be interested in the danzig, samhain and maiden stuff.
None of this is for sale
Hi Dillon. How much would accept for the Trouble album. A great record. Saw them at the Marquee club in London's Soho on that tour.
One of the best gigs I've ever been to! Great channel by the way. 🤘👍
Nice you have trouble on vinyl
What 'bout your Bon Jovi stuff...🤘
.
The Walmart Metallica albums were mastered by Chris Bellman, that’s why they sound good……I’m surprised you like Slayer…….fuckn Slayer 🤘🏻 my favorite band 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Call it what you like, but the late 1970's to early 1990's was the metal era. I don't know what you would call the music that came after!
Megadeth Cryptic Writings is rare )) only UK ORG exists and in your BS collection you didn't show Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Hate or simply forgot? ))) anyways nice video and unusual mix ))
Wow,my friend was at the Trouble show at HammerJacks. They played with Soundgarden in 1991.
Danzig to me is Gothic Rock
I dont know if you would cosider Motorhead metal. Ummmmmm say what
No Reign In Blood? Whut?!
No Sabbath Bloody Sabbath? Da heck? 😄
I have one somewhere, it just wasn’t in its place today 🤣
