More of a design feature, but the lack of proper hem striping with most teams' jerseys the first handful of years. Usually when I'm looking for Reebok era jerseys I try to only seek out the retail authentics and pro-stock jerseys. It avoids a lot of the issues with their replica jerseys. You'll have to spend a little bit more, but it's worth it long term for me.
That's why I say unstitch them off, and get some embroidered shoulder patches. I know it's a pain-in-the-ass (considering the costs to go with it) but it's the best option if you are into wearing or displaying Reebok jerseys.
Funny that John pointed out Reebok wanting $180+ for practically screen printed numbers/patches was kind of a big ask. Whereas I was in an MLS stadium store recently, where soccer jerseys are almost entirely recycled plastic at this point, completely screen printed/heat pressed, and not even the club badge has any sort of cloth or stitch but a literal rubber stamp. Asking price? $200 A hockey jersey being that much doesn't cause too many heads to turn? But soccer? Wowzers.
@@lint138 Yeah, that's a bit much for a recycled t-shirt. $75-$80, maybe $100 if there's a player and maybe an embroidered crest, but $200 bucks??? That's 4 Reebok hockey jerseys from Full Moon Jerseys on eBay.
So I did some research and yes the last year the Sharks wore the front number was 14-15. The reason they stopped wearing it was that 15-16 was their 25th(?) anniversary and that’s wear they put the patch. However, for the SCF, they took off the anniversary patch for the SCF patch.
Tampa wore front number for a few seasons at the advent of Reebok. I always wondered if front numbers were just a Reebok thing and wanted other teams to follow that cookie cutter template.
I went to a bunch of Hurricanes games during the reebok era, and I remember the arena store sold the replica jerseys with proper twill names and numbers, wheras buying online would get you the printed garbage for the same price. I'm pretty sure Colorado had a similar setup where they sold premier jerseys with the glacier twill out of the arena store.
I never liked when they put front numbers on the Reebok jerseys, but I also don't like that the shoulder patches and some logos were screenprinted! Damn
Hate hate hate Reebok jerseys. I stopped collecting during that era. I only bought 3rds & outdoor jerseys. There are so many things I hate about Reebok jerseys. If you basically cough or sneeze you get snags, the shoulder patches were terrible, the odd patterns, piping, lack of waist striping, & what is with the the bottom hems on the sides being cut out like football jerseys? Worst collars of jersey makers too. Every flaw you can think of was featured during the Reebok era.
If people thought the RR 2.0 snug sizing was bad, Reebok was so much more inconsistent. I’ve bought smalls secondhand that fit like a youth LXL while other smalls fit like mediums. It’s difficult buying secondhand Reebok era, never know how they’ll fit.
@@cwreshot14 Very true. There was a run of Reebok jerseys where the collar size shrunk and I couldn't get my head through the jersey. It was the strangest thing.
I see this as a win because I wear mediums so I can wear Smalls to Larges and they all look pretty good on me. (I'll say until I buy a small and can't stuff myself in it)
@@Ramuh. I do agree, my size range looking for old reeboks is a lot wider than adidas. If anything, Reeboks are just wide and look fine with a hoodie. Adidas looks like a dress if you size up too much
Nothing like waking up to some jersey content! I weirdly don't have a screened Reebok, somehow all the ones I have with numbers were either sent out to get done, or Iucked out and got factory twill. It's weird that the time when they want to show off the front numbers for tinfoil hat reasons is also when they make the numbers the worst they've been in possibly ever
@@uglythirdsElite promotional marketing in Edmonton or Great Plains in Calgary. It helps that I'm Edmonton based. Elite is higher quality but I've had things stuck there for months. GP has gotten things (small things) back within the week including shipping.
@@Ramuh. Can both do any team, or are they strictly Flames and Oilers? I used to use Keener out of Winnipeg, but sending things over the border became a hassle. Great work, but logistically, it's better for me to use EPS.
So far my only gripe with Fanatics that I hope doesn’t make it to the regular jerseys is practice jerseys are changing the shoulders and now they look like cold shoulder sweaters…
The snagging is so unbelievably awful, I can't stand it. It seems like Reebok Indonesian Authentics just weren't sold as much at the time or something because finding certain jerseys in something other than a Premier is impossible, which really sucks.
Reebok was the worst (for now) this century. Had a jersey for maybe a month and one moment with my cat and a brand new jerseys was destroyed. Anyway Damn good thing BS sucked … still do … so you never had to worry about them needing the a Stanley Cup patch.

Worst trend of me has to be the template designs. Tampa, Ottawa, Pittsburgh all wore the same jersey pattern when Reebok first happened.
Imo the worst feature on the retail Reebok jerseys are the awful screen printed shoulder patches
@@CoyoteIslander Shame on us for forgetting this, but to be fair, all of the Reebok shoulder patches disintegrated on us, so we plum forgot.
