Procurement and SCM knowledge is not good in India... They only hire core engineers for Procurement, someone doing B.Tech in IT and MBA in Operations or SCM don't get hired.... Procurement is not looking into Quality but Commercial aspect
I believe that the issue lies not in the lack of knowledge but in the availability of curated content, especially for those interested in learning about Supply Chain Management (SCM). In India, expertise and knowledge are abundant but often segregated. *All About Supply Chain* aims to curate insights from experts through interviews for easy learning. Regarding hiring, specialization in SCM isn't typically available at the undergraduate level. Consequently, companies often hire both engineers and non-engineers for SCM roles. However, candidates with a Masters in SCM are highly sought after. IIM Mumbai (formerly NITIE) is renowned for SCM in India. The procurement landscape is evolving, offering a promising future for aspirants considering procurement as a career. Feel free to explore other informative videos on our channel. Thanks!
