- I talk about the reasons why being a nurse is worth it. It's easy to see all the negative reasons why being a nurse isn't worth it. I talk about the reasons why being a nurse has the best options and why you should consider the positive aspects of being a nurse.
Nurse Entrepreneur Course: nomadnursecour...
Love this video! I totally agree with you. I chose nursing over medicine because of the incredible flexibility the nursing profession has and it's still one of the best decisions I've ever made. There is SO much you can do as a nurse and since the pandemic, nursing has become even more attractive. I take 2-3 travel contracts a year, i work as much as possible then relax the rest of the year. I now own a small business and still take nursing contracts from time to time. This way I don't feel burnt out and I still have time for my growing family. Nursing is the best career ever!
Even with a lot of traveling nursing job, if I had to go back and do it all over again, I would have done software engineering or IT. Working from home and getting paid 200k+ after couple years haha totally worth it.
Shame nursing field is gonna get worse and worse
I def think staff nursing is, but the overall options are positive
@@CrosbyTheNomadNurse ya but staff nursing is the majority so however stuff nurses are treating and how much money they are making will be a good gauge on how the profession as whole is doing.
In that terms, other bachelor's degree like software engineering or IT are better pay and better life/work balance.
Idk I guess every profession have their problems but damn nursing really have it bad
My husband is in tech, it's a lot easier to get into now with tech bootcamps. It has crossed my mind a few times to switch to tech but travel nursing pay is so good right now and i also hate math so... Nursing for life!
@@oluchi_assumani do you miss sharing how much people like you husband is getting paid after boot camp? And did he have to move? Thanks!
@@oluchi_assumaniThere’s hardly any math in tech. Depends on the program
Omg i am trying to start my ABSN in the summer. I was so excited for it up until i started watching UA-cam and saw so much negativity from the nurses! And i was starting to doubt my career choice. This videos helps me stay focused. Thx
Find your own motivation but be prepared to be squeezed for everything you’re worth and given backhanded thank yous
I'm doing that too ,the 1 year program, if you don't like it can still use the degree to do laser skin, botox etc. Don't go back to school after this, nursing degree in 5 degrees in one and you can do other jobs instead of nursing with the degree
Staff nursing in Northern California is worth it. I made 440k last year as a staff nurse in California. It really depends on where you live.
More then the President’s wages😳. Holy cow
WHAA?? How?!
How
Thank you, my entire family has been pushing against me going into nursing. It's been bringing me down, so I am grateful for your video!
What did they want you to do instead?
nursing is bad, no paid intership. long working hours (hours you have to be present if you work in the hospital), bad staffing ratio, bad protection (PPE, in ontario we are still talking about N95 or not, you see journalist with full body protection with N95 back in 2020), other interprofessional health care workers dump their work on you (ie pharmacist asking you to connect with pts in room with phone, where they can just walk to talk to pt), not to mention, anxiety of making a mistake at work, leaving nurses sleepless between shifts.
Appreciate this video. I’m starting 2nd term in January and was getting worried I made a questionable decision!
There’s a hospital in my area that started hiring LPN’s because they need warm bodies
Traveling for 7600 dollhairs a week? yes it's worth it. :D
Money and flexibility. Those aspects are only going to improve over our lifetime.
I'm in my last year in college but i really hate nursing and im 25 so i have no more time left to start all over in college so what should i do
You’re young 25 you can restart whenever you want. It might look dumb to others but you need to put yourself first. If you don’t like nursing in school you won’t like it real life. And you can Separate your happiness from your job. But Nursing isn’t a job you do for the salary it’s cause you enjoy it.
25 is not too old at all. People go back to college in their 50's and 60's.
I'm a graduating hospitality management student and i hate my course. I'm 21 and planning to start college all over again and take up nursing.
Is it worth to become nurse (male) at 45 (BSN)?
Is it possible to do short contracts as a nurse? Let's say 3-6 months and then stop working.
I need to go back to school
Working in hospital now and man these nurses are chilling every time I walk by there sitting down at desk or just sitting in pt room in dark. How awesome is that.
Nursing lately is getting really bad and staff is extremely lazy.
Love it.
Seems difficult to stay positive right now...
Update for 2023
I am in my third year taking hospitality management and i recently just realized that i dont like my course. I'm planning to start college all over again after I get my degree in HM and enroll myself to a Nursing school.
Hi! My son is going to start nursing school in September, but he is type 1 diabetic. I have many worries about this.
I totally agree! I would not mind… being apart of that movement! We have to speak up for our profession and the time and money we invested to Nursing and our health care system! When your apart of a profession that you can look up a job on any search engine and see $28-35/hr 🥴 CNAs making $22 #Zhelllo 🤪
Lol.
Where can we find the average Bill To rates for hospital RNs in a certain city/state? And who do we present a nurse to in the hospital if we want to be our own travel company?
Well said
I work in Radiology and I’m really considering making the switch because of the opportunities. HOWEVER right now I’m choosing not to get vaccinated. Do you think it’s still a viable profession with those that don’t want the v? I know things change everyday so it may be hard to gage. I just don’t want to have any problems down the road with finding a job.
This is really my concern. I was going to ask the same question. However, I think you’ll be fine if you can provide some kind of religious exemption. I do believe that if you are called into the nursing profession, God will provide a way for you without going against your convictions. Put your trust and your faith in God first and everything will work out according to Gods plan. Do not worry, and do not let this be a stumbling block for you. Having this in mind gives me peace, and I hope it can be the same for you. God bless you!
