It's a sin he doesn't have more tracks or mutations to enjoy. I sometimes wonder if he realizes the opportunity of sunshine he's letting pass by. His work is absolutely magnificent, I only wish he'd do more than a few songs every few years. I think it best I take a picture of his cables instead of gain any kind of anticipation or joy for music. Sincerely best wishes, I try look forward to what's next from Nomark.
Love this sort of hang out style chat about... and I've tried to avoid Cwejman gear due to cost for years.. but DAMN YOU that MMF filter :) Also, I'm wishing for a whole album based on the "The Love Again" style song... I'm on repeat this morning with coffee and lovin' it :D (lastly, are you an only child? I am. And a year apart in age.. cheers from a long time fan- since 1998ish...)
Love that you're doing this! It helps others understand your work process. And please do a lot more, even if it's in the theory of talking about it. You have a community here and we are all down to listen.
Very lovely Modular System. The sweeping curve of the Module Case looks to be relatively comfortable for patching as well. I would love to see and hear more videos concerning the structure of sounds and how those strategies assist {you} in the process of creating a Soundscape.💡
Thanks for the breakdown! How do you feel about a breakdown of old tracks from Bricolage or Foley Room for example? It would be so cool to see you open up old projects and dive into them with us! I really wanna see more of that nerdy stuff :) Thanks for all the years of otherwordly tunes
wow, it's really incredible actually seeing you work on your synths... i hope this is the first video of a loooong series hahaha. greetings from brazil.
🙌 There are a number of other synth related videos on the "In The Studio" Playlist on Amon's YT channel. Check them out! ua-cam.com/play/PL_X5gRGCv_LIW8wttcQEce3g3Rk3rOr6X.html
DO you do anything in post to get such a clean recording? And what kind of interface do you use? I always end up with such noisy audio when I record analog synths. Nice work!
DI box could work? read about a function called ground lift. also, if you are running all analog - see if there is any powercable ON audio cable, or vice versa. that hums a bugger.
@@somberlight Thanks! I do keep my audio and power cables off each other, but maybe the DI box is a good tip. If you don't mind me asking, what interface are you using?
Doesnt really matter, tbh. My needs are relative to me alone . Just figure your actual needs and find pre' s to match. I'd get something with full ass adat array tho. Gear Acquisition is a helluva disease, LMAO
Thank you very much for your shared knowledge. Today I have learned and understood something very useful for my own personal musical practice. Keep on going !
I know little about making music, and this still looks like you're about to fire up a spacecraft for trans-dimensional travel. In fact, that's exactly the effect your music has on me. Not a coincidence.
Man that bassline is outstanding, but the drum track is something else! Makes me think how awesome it would be if you would do a collab with Travis Barker. Having goosebumps just thinking about it!
Great video - I've barely embarked on modular with my Lyra-8 and Deluge, but I could see a couple of modules that I would make good use of (the tube processor in particular). I'll make room for a chassis one day! Thanks for sharing, though. I'm sure many of us would like to see some of your processes for percussion.
A demo Only Child Tyrant patch so unlikely this will make it to an official release. However you can hear songs on which the patch is based, such as Solid Grey Zebra, here: onlychildtyrant.bandcamp.com/album/time-to-run
You can buy software: maybe Softube's Modular, or get something like VCV Rack for free, and rough it up a bit with other effects. Watching ads and carping were only two of your options
Or just get VCV rack and boom. It’s free but you can also get special modules for it. It’ll work with any daw. ( writing this again because I think it got deleted )
Amazing. Would love a Part 2 specific to the drum section.
That is why Amon is the maestro of experimental electronic music, 90% of producers wouldn't use modular synthesis as production suites do it for you.

Have you seen the amount of music that's come out on Nomark Records before and since you wrote this? Might make you happy 🥳

At some point, this man got permanently stuck in God mode. Thank you for this!

these are basically ASMR but also really insightful. ya love to see it
Awesme! When the oldskool drum kicks in, man you understand the universe
Musical wizard
Where do the sounds come from? "the pelts of snow leopards." 😂 I really did laugh out loud. OF COURSE.
I understood, perhaps 5% of this but it really was fascinating!
your work on chaos theory is godlike, thank you!
was looking for this
Love all the Davified knobs!
I really appreciate seeing/learning the “hows” and would love to see more like this.
Thanks for sharing, m’dear!
Thanks for gifting us this!
Maestro ! so good! Amon please share some of your midi drum programming/ break beat stuff please !! We would all kill to know :)
This shit giving me chaos theory vibes.
Thanks for the breakdown!

That'd be amazing.
Amon Tobin is The King of Space.
If you listen extra close, you can hear the collective screams of preset packs everywhere as they are called back to hell.
I will have to watch this a few times to fully absorb. Great lesson.

@@NomarkRecords ohhh that's amazing! Thanks for the tip!
My dude have you ever considered narrating nature documentaries?
I hit the like button before I even started watching! Absolutely fascinating.
Thank you for taking the time and effort to share this! It's really appreciated :)
As a computer engineer who's starting to take circuits and signals classes, this is fascinating to me
Thank you for this! Please continue being a nerd and sharing it. :D
I'm happy with a volca bass and a reverb pedal.
Do more of this I love it!
This is incredible and impressive

Great! Very Interesting! 🎯
very interesting to see how you approached this
this video has great editing too
this is like the m&s advert for synths
Thank you very much for your shared knowledge.

Keep on going !
Fascinating.
so that's where all the headphone jacks went
thanks for sharing this stuff with us :)
absolutely fabulous

Wildly informative. Would love to see a video about how he did the OCT drum programming.....AT is the GOAT
So cool. Nice that you made that kind of video, i really like modular stuff
Bruh, just show us how you made four ton mantis
INSANE!! FIRST TIME HERE, GOT HERE FROM NIGHTLIFE SONG, AMAZING STUFF
Weclome! You might not yet know there's a whole world of Amon Tobin to open here since Nightlife www.nomark.net/
Almoust like Reason.. but a little tiny more analog and reasl. Amazing video.!
Awesomeness
Man that bassline is outstanding, but the drum track is something else!
Makes me think how awesome it would be if you would do a collab with Travis Barker. Having goosebumps just thinking about it!
Hi Amon, when you mentioned trying to replicate the "hammer sound" of a bass fret, is this essentially the same process you went through for Figueroa?
Is there a modulargrid link for this case of snow leopard pelts?

God save Amon Tobin
Woah so amazing. I have so much more to learn with modular :)
Master Class. Gratis. 👊🏻
Awesome!!
When the drums dropped...
Very nice sound! Great video^^
more please!
Awesome!
Fantastic- more please!
Thanks so much for sharing!
I can use only computer mouse and vst, and find its difficult to make something near nice. I really wonder how big Amons brains are
🌌Elektronic Sound is safety in solitude🌠
There's a bit of Pink Floyd in there somewhere
Your voice is very Asmr friendly 💛
I love your soft voice, but not under a sawtooth.
Yea he should speak up a little.
it was fine, epic ASMR
Its art
@@Hakunamatatabro i'm about to watch it a second time, i must love that :-)
it’s ok he was blazing all
day before making this vid 😎
I would like to use your voise in my music if you do not mind
Mindblowing 🤯🤯🤯
All I could think is how much did the cables alone cost
That's really too bad
OCT reminds me of Cardiacs in the best way
Have mercy on your IT guy
10:12 No way he said, "Now I can have some fun with DrumBrute". I must be misunderstanding his words. Those aren't DrumBrute sounds
"drum programming"
@@jakechandler2704 ahh thanks!
Listened to this as I made my coffee.😁💓☯️☻☕🎉🎇🎆
juicy
Amon, I need to ask you and I am not on Twitter....
Do you take any inspiration at all from the 60s and 70s German psyche group called Amon Duul 2?
Nice sound and fucking enjoyfulllll
Does anyone know the name of this song?
A demo Only Child Tyrant patch so unlikely this will make it to an official release. However you can hear songs on which the patch is based, such as Solid Grey Zebra, here: onlychildtyrant.bandcamp.com/album/time-to-run
@@NomarkRecords Thank you!!!!!
This was my favorite album of 2019 by the way. What an evolution.
luckily you don't need more than 84-104 hp-ish to do that
Watch the 4 commercials while I play with my toy that costs more than your house. LOL you can't play with my toy.
Maybe take some time to see where he began. It's likely with less than you have now which is an encouraging prospect if you set your mind to it. 🙏

is this what a brain being slow cooked feels like
He explains it and all I see is spaghetti and knobs.
My ears are bleeding!!!!
Kyma > Isam. Finish all...
Isam is better imo
🙈🙀🗣🗣🗣🤯!!!
Or get your hands on a copy off FL Studio save some money LOL
Lol what? FL doesn't have modular synths built-in
