I met Chris, Nancy, Daniel and Chris’s parents about a year before the tragedy.
To say I was shocked would be an understatement.
I have been lucky enough to meet a few WWE superstars and Chris was by far the kindest.
The way he interacted with Nancy and Daniel, I can’t help but to think how much CTE played into this.
Glad you made it out there, as always, thanks for bringing us with you.

      That's shocking!
I know being Canadian In hockey we've had players suffer serious concussions and later take their lives.
It's definitely something that should be more acknowledged by any professional sports that could involve serious head trauma.

I went to this place 2 years ago. He hits on it at about 8:30. It’s a very uncomfortable place to visit. Everything about the neighborhood screams, “we don’t want to bothered”, and not in a snobby way. At least the finally paved the road, he shows parts going in where it’s not.
I don’t know if you know anything about the Fayetteville area. It’s been in a ton of films and shows. From Smokey and The Bandit to a The Walking Dead to The Marvel Avengers films (Hawkeye’s house, where Iron Man and Captain America had the scene splitting wood).

I recall when it happened. Vince McMahon was supposed to have made an absence as if he had been killed in an auto accident. And next thing you know, standing in the middle of the ring, makes an an announcement that he isn't speaking as a part of himself and the entertainment, but instead unleashed the incident of Benoit and his family. Was mind blowing to hear. Once again, great job in narrating Scott. 👍

I have been waiting so long for you to do this one. I grew up watching wrestling and would consider Chris Benoit one of my all time favorite wrestlers. This was such a horrific crime. I remember hearing he left voicemails for family and friends telling them that Daniel and Nancy weren’t feeling good and that he wasn’t going to attend the match he was supposed to be wrestling at which signaled a red flag and he also text someone else about the family dogs. The WWE put in a request to go have a wellness check and that’s when they we’re found.

The police found no hard evidence to prove exactly what happened in that house.
The police came up with more questions than answers.
The only reason police closed the case was because they didn't want to deal with it.
I don't know if someone else was involved but multiple statements suggest that it's possible.
As far as I'm concerned this case is still unsolved.

The dude was 225+ lbs who did a flying headbutt off the top rope for a finisher and probably did it hundreds of times a year for many years. Then add in all that he wrestled in the era notorius for metal chair shots to the head. Stack on years of drug abuse and emotional trauma. Recipe for disaster.

    Great video!
I’ve just listened to Chris & Nancy - The True Story of the Benoit Murder audiobook (on Amazon) it’s the most in depth account of what happened, I was blown away and I thought I knew everything about it beforehand. All the text messages between them both leading up to the event and also that the police found that he was having an affair etc. When the police arrived they couldn’t get in as they didn’t have the key code for the gates and the dogs were going mad, so the neighbour had to jump the fence and take the dogs inside. This only brushes the surface of what’s revealed, highly recommended to anyone following the case.
