I knew Owen personally, I would take him to the gym or dinner or wherever he wanted to go when the WWE was in Baltimore. He was the nicest person you could ever meet and always was in a good mood and good to the fans. RIP Owen you are missed buddy
The Hart Family was an institution here in Calgary. The funeral was massive closing down the street in front of the Funeral home. I lived beside the Cemetery, there was roads blocked off in and out, but from my place I still had a great view of the funeral procession into the cemetery
I was 21 years old when Owen died and at work while my girlfriend recorded the pay per view for me. I came home to watch the show and cried like a baby. It's been such a long time and I still cry for Owen watching this video, which is beautifully done Scott, thank you! I named my youngest son after Owen. R.I.P.
I had the opportunity to meet Owen less than a year before he died. I was going to have surgery a couple days later, Owen came from behind the autograph table he was at, knelt down and prayed for me. Many months later, I was in the then Kemper Arena the night he died. When he first fell, I was looking in the opposite direction and immediately leard the loud impact over the audio from the large “titantron” playing a pre-recorded promo filmed earlier that day. When the lights came on and everyone could see Owen laying in the ring, at first some wondered if it was apart of the show but within seconds, I knew it wasn’t. I could catch a small glimpse of him as he was being carried out and knew it would be announced that he died. Owen’s eyes were wide open and he wasn’t blinking, not talking, etc and CPR was being given to him and it seemed as though a ton of people were surrounding him as he was being carried out. Owen was a hell of a guy and over 20 years since his tragic death is terribly missed by many, myself included.
It was a gym and he was beyond the beautiful and I know that we can't always hold on to these gems that we are so Grace to have in our life but he was a dynamic person and beyond kind it is with the deepest deepest sorrow did I you know say that we lost such a beautiful gym but somewhere in the Milky Way he's shining we were greatly blessed sometimes we don't realize how blessed we are until after they're gone he was a dynamic human being.
What a lovely story, Owen was a great guy!!! Aww man, I have heard stories about that night, It was just terrible what happned to him. I hope he is resting in peace I know that he is since he was such a lovely man.
Witness said as he was falling he shouted "watch out" ... in his last moments he still tried to protect the referee in the ring from being hurt as well.. what can you say other than this was an incredible human being who lost his life way to soon..
Thank you for sharing. I met Bret and Ross very sweet men. I had the honor of seeing owen wrestle live. Im a proud canadian my great grandparents are from canada 🇨🇦 i hope one day to go to canada and visit owens stu and helens grave and pay respect.
I grew up watching WWE/WWF, I was watching the day he passed and I was in shock to say the least and when they announced he had passed I lost it, I cried for hours. He was a legend and is so missed to this day. He gave everything of himself every time he stepped in the ring , he was amazing. Such a huge loss... May he forever rest in heavenly peace. 💐💝
I remember the whole story about Owen Hart it is tragic for something that could have been prevented. Never have met him personally but heard he was a nice guy. Thanks for letting ppl see his childhood home and where he is at peace. Rip Owen
The scenery in this vlog is breathtaking. What a sad ending to a marvelous athlete and family man, but how cool that the family home was saved. I am so happy you got to visit there, and take us along with you. Rest in peace, Owen, and safe travels, Scott.
I remember when this accident happened. Completely preventable. If you havent already, i'd recommend watching the episode around Owen Hart on Dark Side of the Ring. Heartbreaking
Hey Scott. I remember the tragic event like it was yesterday we had just ordered the payperview and were waiting for it to start when they announced that owen hart had fell into the ring from the rafters.so sad. good Tribute to the hart family. Thank you for posting this.
Thanks Scott for doing this one! Owen was such a talented wrestler and was a great guy in real life. I will never forget hearing the news.. my brother came into my room and said Owen Hart fell from the ceiling he's dead :(
I was stunned and heartbroken when this tragedy occurred, it was totally unnecessary for him to have done the stunt in the first place. Great video Scott very respectful and informative
Hi there! Fellow Calgarian here. The Hart Family means so much to this city. We were all absolutely heartbroken when it happened, we’re heartbroken over any tragedy the Hart Family has faced. Calgary is like the biggest small town on earth. They felt like our own family. ❤️
Jim Cornette said it best about that night "a man just died, what happened? It wasn't suicide, let's stop the show and investigate.. nah let's have 3-4 more matches instead" the show should of been stopped because it was now a crime scene where a wrestler died and his blood laid on the mat the whole show.
Owen was a personal friend of ours , He was indeed the nicest person one could ever meet . So kind and generous . Always held a smile babyface or Heel . Owen is deeply loved and missed xx I love you owen .Rest in peace
I’ve been to Edmonton and Grande Prairie but never in July. You braved the cold of going way beyond the 48th parallel nearly 2000 miles north of Chicago or Toronto or Detroit to show us this. Respect Man. Thank you.
This messed me up.... Wooo what a night that was. I felt so sorry for the folks that was actually there that night and witnessed that terrible accident. I saw some YT vids of some of the fans that was there and described what they witnessed. Man Oh Man... RIP Owen!!
As a lifelong wrestling fan, I appreciate this a lot. I've been waiting for someone to make this video for a long time. When the borders open back up, you should do the Benoit house in Fayetteville, Georgia.
I met Benoit in 1998, when he was in the WCW. They all happened to be staying at the hotel my family and I were. When I met him, he was beyond drunk. He was barely able to stand upright.
Born and raised in Kansas City, MO. I wasn’t at the event nor did I see it on pay-per-view that night, but I heard about it from friends. Still can’t drive by that arena without thinking about Owen. RIP Owen Hart!
Wow man! I’m the biggest Owen Hart mark I met him countless times he was the best coolest guy ever thank you for posting this🙏 I so have to go to see his grave and pass by where the house is RIP Owen🙏
Thank you for such a respectful and interesting video. I had the chance to meet Owen, Davey Boy, Helen and Stu Hart the weekend of Wrestlemania 13 in Chicago. Such lovely people! You have inspired my to feature the Hart Family in a future video on my YT channel. Thanks again!
I really enjoy your videos. I appreciate the way you show respect to the fallen. This death really made things even more strained between Bret Hart and Vince McMahon. Just a sad situation even til this day.
Scott, your videos are amazing! You are doing such a magnificent job of telling the stories with passion and excellence! Keep the great job UK my fried!!

I was there when the accident happened. I was only 11 years old and 13 rows from the ring. I'm 32 now and will never forget that night. Your absolutely right everyone thought it was a doll until the King ran over to him and signaled for EMTs. A dozen or so wrestlers came out to the top of the entrance ramp. Some were breaking down others were comforting them. After removing him from sight they made an announcement that he had passed and that they were going to continue the show in his honor, which at the time I didn't realize how messed up that was. The rest of the night there was no energy in that arena, no chants, no boo's, no nothing. The remaining matches were hard to watch because you could see the pain the other wrestlers were in. It was by far one of the craziest things to happen in my childhood. R.I.P Owen

I remember watching that pay preview at a friend's house back in my home state of Vermont. My friend and I looked at each other and said what the hell just happened and when Jim Ross announced on what happened my friend and were in shock and we weren't happy that Vince would allow the matches to go on which should have cancelled the rest of the matches because it was all about the money to Vince. My friend decided to end watching the rest of the matches and we lowered our heads in prayer for Owen and his family it was a very sad day for everyone who was watching and for those who were in attendance and also for the wrestlers themselves. Owen you are missed dearly and you will never ever ever will be forgotten R.I.P Owen.
