Thank you so much for showing this episode. So good to see the measure of the man. Mr. Power, indeed, a gentleman in a ways, so erudite, kind and eloquent. Yes, it is somewhat gratifying to see Americans presented in this manner. And, Mr.Morrow conducting the interview in such a dignified and comprehensive manner. My, how much 'class' has been lost..
This video is a gem. I enjoyed it so much because I'm an uncondicional admirer of Mr. Power. I love when he introduces the maid. He looks her with great kindness and affection. He was a nice man, kind and generous to all the people who worked with him. I love him always and forever. Thank you for uploading this.

This was fantastic! I always consistently read about how generous and kind Tyrone Power was as a person and get that sense from this video. Really one of the all time greats.

And heroically left Hollywood to serve as a Marine Corps pilot. Even after the war he remained in the reserves. Died tragically too young.

Seeing this, it is hard to understand how Tyrone Power would be dead within a year. He looks so healthy.
My mom loved him. She had a scrapbook with all his photo's/news clippings.
My brother went to Purcell High School in Cincinnati where Mr Power graduated in 1921. I know Tyrone was a world traveler but I can see Cincinnati in him! So sad he died so young

less then a year from this date, the man many called "the last Idol " Tyrone Power would be dead of a heart attack ay 44...
This interview is all-the-more poignant, considering that he passed away only 11 months later.

Tyrone Power smoked 3 to 4 packs of cigarettes a day. Murrow was also smoking during the interview. Dangers of smoking weren't really known until almost 10 yrs later. Tyrone was a classy and really decent man.
He seems to have been a very nice man. I really enjoyed this old interview! It's sad to think that he died of a massive heart attack one year later...only 44 years old...2 months before his only son was born. Trivia: he made TV ads for the American Heart Association...shortly before he died of his massive heart attack.

I saw that too. That one with a cold cloth or something on his head. I thought the media were much more sensitive in that day and age. They should have destroyed that piece of footage. Shame on them. All these years later, the son that he never got to even meet,has to see that on the internet. But, giving them the benefit of the doubt, maybe they just weren’t thinking. They ended up remaking the movie, however did use some of his shots, from what I understand. This footage would have probably NEVER seen the light of day if it had not been for the advent of the internet and how much more insensitive and evil this world has become.
