Don't think anyone's caught the "Back to the Future" reference, but I did. What I don't get are the 69 dislikes, so what if it isn't 100% accurate or any other lesson Justin teaches for that matter. In everyone one of his lessons he gives you more then enough info to learn the song and to "make it your own" and that's what making music is all about, face it non of us are going to sound or play like any artist's song he or anyone teaches just as the artist isn't going to sound or play like any of us. Not only is Justin an AMAZING teacher and player, when he's teaching a song he never drifts off or shows off by doing some pentatonic run or any other scale like some many other "teachers" do on here. And most importantly his lessons are 100% FREE and they are hundreds if not a few thousand of them. THANKS Justin for all the lessons!!!!
Yeah, man. Justin is my favorite guitar teacher by a long mile. Mainly because of what you said; he doesn't drift off into useless rambling, or showoff guitar runs. I also like that he gives note and chord names, as well as how to count through the song. He's clearly an experienced musician first, and guitar player second.
I love that you count out the beats when you're explaining the riffs. I can't find many other guitar teachers that do that and I think it makes a huge difference in getting the feel right faster.
Saw Chuck play around ‘92. I’m just about to turn 51 and started your courses about 4 months ago. Having a great time looking forward to having a go at this. Thanks for all you do Justin 👍
Haven't done one of these for a while so hear goes....to the tune! Deep down in West London close to Richmond Park In a quiet suburban street where commuters park There stands a house made of bricks and stone Where lives an Aussie boy named Justin Sandercoe Every week a flat cap and UA-cam spell As he teach guitar to those don't play so well Go Go Go Justin Go Go Go Justin Sandercoe He like to carry his guitar in a gig bag sack An sit beneath the trees learning the next track. Oh, Marty Schwartz used to see him sitting in the shade, Strumming with the rhythm that his heartbeat made. And the students on UA-cam, they would stop and say Oh my that Aussie boy could really f'kin' play! Go Go Go Justin Go Go Go Justin Sandercoe
hahahha i was scrolling through the comments; and i go, "well someone has posted the lyrics" so I play the guitar and start singing; i'm through to the fifth line, went past "UA-cam" and that was when I realized, this ain't the lyrics. hahaha
Many thanks for the super thanks and supporting the channel. It means a lot. Cheers 😊 | Richard_close2u | JustinGuitar Official Guide & Approved Teacher www.justinguitar.com
When around 9:20 it flashes 'all downpicks' I cried a little... I mean how on earth one can play this at 170bpm with all downpicks :D :D Great tutorial, Justin is still the best! Nobody comes even close...
justin you are the best instructor ive found...i love the way you get real close up on the fretboard and break each note down..most of the other teachers dont do this...excellent lesson!!!
Justin whatever I learnt on the guitar is just because of u.You are a great teacher and a great human being. In my locality, there are no guitar teachers. So my dream of learning guitar would not have come true without u.I'm Your Indian fan/student lol ;)
Excellent instruction from a great teacher! You wanna learn this classic properly, pay attention and practice your ass off! As I have always said, if you’re not putting any sweat on that guitar neck, you’re not doing it right! Thanks Justin!🎸
You're amazing. It's great finding players as in love with guitars as much as I am. I've been playing fsince I was 10, 58 years. I decided there are little bits and pieces that I don't know this I found your videos. Thank you for the inspiration. God bless, mate.
Hey justin been following you for a couple of years now but never commented. I think it's great what you do and you always seem so happy doing so. great work!!
Just found this teacher.. amazing at teaching others! One of the best at explaining as he moves on and explains.. even mentioning the note along with showing normal then regular speed! I just Subscribed! Thank You very much 👍
Thank you very much Justin for making this lesson. Your previous Johnny B. Goode lesson (in which you played it on a red Fender Strat) was a huge help for me because I basically learnt the song by watching your video and with the help of the tabs that were available on your website at that time. However I was really looking forward for another and more precise lesson on this song :) Looking forward for the solo lesson and THANK YOU AGAIN :)
Great video tutorial on this classic rock n roll gem. As many other commentators has said, this is the riff that made me want to learn guitar. Though it’s not thee only riff that inspired me, the genius of Chuck Berry does motivate me to keep learning and getting better. I’ve attempted to learn this riff on many occasions I the past, only to lose focus, determination and motivation. Well, this time around I’ve weathered the storm and have this intro well enough that I can play it impressive well! This weekend I’ll impress a lady friend! Thanks Justin.
I have a lot more work to do, but this is some serious fun. What a blast. Apparently, quite a few others think the same. 1.1 million views and only 186 thumbs down? That must be a UA-cam record. Nice work, Justin!
Hello from France ! Thanks a lot for your videos. I have learned few new songs with your help ! You play very well and explain as well ! Continue like this !
Great lesson Justin this song remains one. of the best songs over generations and thank God that I’m beginning to learn parts of the riff which I’m very thankful for because of the way you demonstrate it. Many thanks for that Justin.
Been playing guitar for around 8 months but hadn't got around to learning this until now. Thanks for making a great lesson! You're a good player and teacher :) Also, Back To The Future is an amazing film!
Thank you for giving the Key, which is B flat. It is also helpful to mention the key and type of scale, which I assume is a B flat minor pentatonic or B flat blues scale, which would be G minor as the relative minor key. Just include that information on your videos because it makes it easier for those of us who think in terms of music theory. You can then play by ear because you know the patterns and where to play. Great video, like everything you do.
Excellent work. I love the attention to detail with doing the first set of licks during the first chorus on the 9th and 10th frets as opposed to doing it with the bar on the 6th fret b and e strings. Good ear.
Justin thanks. With all these lessons people like me have so much to look forward too. I'm still working on Crossroads, plus I'm ready for the lead in Sunshine of Your Love and I'm also just beginning Stone Cold Fever and Tobacco Road, also Gloria and Hey Joe by Love plus I bought Guitar Pro 6 and have written about a 1/3 to a 1/2 of my own song. When I master Crossroads then I can say I Play the Guitar. You inspire me not because I say if he can do so can I but rather I say you give us hope of becoming better and that is what counts, Talent, Ability, Ambition, Want, Need and hope.
Thanks Justin, I got your video down pretty much note for note then looked at a few others and found them pretty good but decided they just were not quite as detailed so I'll stop here and go on to polishing up with Chuck's original. then there is the jam with Clapton Richards and Berry from ages ago and I'll extract the best of that.
There would have been a time years ago when I would have loved all these guitar lessons on the internet but the internet was only in its infancy, mainly still modems etc back then. Anyway, I dunno what's happened me but I can't seem to get motivated these days at all to play anything or when I do play stuff, I'm only going through the motions. If I ever get inspired to play again, I'll be sure to learn this!
Awesome lesson! But I guess I will have to stick to listening to this song instead of trying to play it. I can't even do that dang bend without my fingers getting stuck and tangled up under the 4th string! hehehe I know, practice, practice, practice but despite being a patient person in general, when it comes to guitar pratice I seem to have a terribly short fuse. It was worth a try though! :)
I can do this, never tried before, got it after watching your video once and replaying a couple of things. I’m going to practice this thing every day until I can crank it out like Marty McFly!
Thanks, Justin. I like how you always strive to keep it true to the original. "All of Chuck's children are out there playing his riffs," and we are all Chuck's children!
How are you doing its Justin.... pretty damn good after that jamming intro. Funny, you must have played that so much it wore the frets out! Thanks for sharing.
Nice clean Fingernails Justin, a lot of people don't take care of that very important detail: makes all the difference Mate! Great lessons too, clean as a whistle always. Thank you so very much Cobber! By the way Sport, I think the Termites have been havin a go at your Fingerboard.
Very good Justin! Your video helped me a lot. I've been trying to learn this song for a long time...Maybe I can learn it now by following your directions..Thanks
I finally learned this today from your video. Really good. Thanks. I bought your blues guitar solo book too. But I'm just using my fingers. I can't hold a pick. Never have mastered it.

I'm afraid you're just too darn loud...
TOO LOUD???
It's really heavy stuff.
this is the riff that made me want to play guitar
I love that you count out the beats when you're explaining the riffs. I can't find many other guitar teachers that do that and I think it makes a huge difference in getting the feel right faster.
Exactly
I guess you guys aren't ready for that yet. But your kids are gonna love it.

It's just a blues riff in B, watch me for the changes ;)
Boyancyoperated And try to keep up... okay?

Original is B Flat. Marty plays it in B, dumbasses.

Out of like 11, this is the best JBG lesson, I've found
Thanks for the lesson I picked it up pretty easily. I'm still perfecting the intro, but the rhythm is coming along nicely. Great lesson.
Excellent instruction from a great teacher! You wanna learn this classic properly, pay attention and practice your ass off! As I have always said, if you’re not putting any sweat on that guitar neck, you’re not doing it right! Thanks Justin!🎸

R.I.P. Chuck! I'll pay my respect by trying to let some of your riffs live on through my fingers and my guitar - with the help of our friend Justin.
Oooo such a classic! Everybody must learn it! Thanks J, good video, as usual:P
Thank you for the great lesson. It is apparent that you really love to play, makes for an enthusiastic instructor.

The thing I took from this lesson is punch down on the strings!!!!!

I always wanted to learn this classic opening riff. Thank you, your lesson is spot on. Accurate and well instructed.
One of the best known riffs in the history of rock!!

Thanks for doing this one. I have wanted to learn this lick for a while. Verrry Cool..!!!
Nice video gonna give it a try and practice hard
awesome as usual🤟
You’re the best! I’ve watched 3 videos and got lost within minutes. I’m not good with « Do like this, and your finger like that… »
Great lesson. Thanks Justin.
Awesome, Justin!
Your lessons are easy to follow. Thanks
Hi Justin!
I don’t think all your lessons are as good as this very one.
This is fine job.
Thanks, teachie! 😉
Thanks for lesson, that will last for a lifetime.
Great lesson Justin cheers mate.
Thanks justin for the incredible lesson as always! One if my all-time favorite songs:))
Justin you rock it. Thanks from Indiana.
Was thinking yesterday that I should go to Justin's channel and learn this riff. Now I'm gonna learn it.
You're a great teacher. I've learned a lot from you. Thanks for all you do!
Hmmmmmm
What'd I say?
What's the point of insulting a guy who's just trying to help people learn guitar? Do you feel good about yourself
I told him he was a great teacher. I told him I've learned a lot. In English, that's a compliment, not an insult.
Oh okay
+Rayene Boussetta hey up yours, your just a salty little bitch, you've only been rude to people in all of the comments I've read
Great lesson!!
Hey Just in, hı from Turkey.. I will follow your lessons....thanks a lot ..
Brilliant video, I'm 16 and it helped me get it down easy! Thanks man I appreciate it.
I think now I can handle this. So excited!
love your blues shuffle technique, so technical!
Brilliant thanks Justin !
Please can you tell us when the solo comes out, cheers justin, amazing as always
fantastic Justin.
Awesome lesson! But I guess I will have to stick to listening to this song instead of trying to play it. Great lesson, love it
I've been battling this intro forever. Now I got it!
Justin, that fingerboard has seen some action. Lovely guitar
Im doing this for myself:
Intro
1st part: 00:01
2nd: 5:20
You killed it that was great
Only just noticed the shirt, nice Miss Jane 🤘
I can do this, never tried before, got it after watching your video once and replaying a couple of things. I’m going to practice this thing every day until I can crank it out like Marty McFly!
awesome, thx justin!
This is Gold!!!
Sad Day. Thanks for this Justin.

Wow worn grooves in the rosewood board!
Justin, Great lesson mate, Cheers'
Thanks for this, Justin! I could never find a decent tutorial on the opening riff! Nailed it now 😎
