SRV was agree, in my personal opinion he was better than hendrix, but thats just me, Jimi was his main influence so he had a very similar style of playing to him but i do in some way agree with you
+Jake Warner Warning .. Rant ahead ! No.SRV didn;t have a "similar style to Jimi " . He copied him. . I say this because SRV dressed like Jimi , played the same guitar as Jimi , had the same facial hair as Jimi , acted like Jimi when played . This is a little more than just having " similar styles " .Come on man. Hendrix was eons better in so many ways. Jimi used his influences to find his own voice and make songs and sounds that changed the world to become one of the most imitated blues players that ever lived . . Jimi was a waaay better improve player , in fact one of the best , a faaaar better rhythm player , incorporated jazz , flamenco , classical , and Mayfield-istic soul . It all blended to create something nobody had heard before . No wonder guys like SRV try to be like him . AND Jimi's lighting fast blues licks were the birth of heavy metal . I don't think SRV came up with his own sound or incorporated other styles or invented an entire genre of music. SRV was great but Jimi was a genius . Maybe you prefer SRV , which is fine , but to say SRV was better than Jimi is just ignoring facts . End Rant
I mean, I LOVE Randy...I really do. He seems like such a down to Earth guy, doing what he LOVES. We all should be so lucky. Hendrix would have loved him too.
God da.n Randy that’s as good as it gets, including the little commercial notes in between the song. I wish I could float like that even now and then. Thanks
Seeing Randy perform is such a pleasure & privilege: he's ultimately INSPIRED and has such fun being the legit channeler of the Hendrix legacy, kudos!!!
Randy Hanson,1977 at the tiny Garden Grove nightclub,The Rendezvous. There was pieces of acoustic ceiling all over,he was walking along the bar and picking up patrons beer bottles with his teeth and downing them and out to the parking lot he went with a 200 ft. cord while not missing a note of his twenty minute all along the watchtower epic monster! FUDKINGINSANE
Original pickups that came with Hendrix tribute Stratocasters circa 1997-2000. Those guitars are not made anymore and the pickups are known as the 1969's.He uses them stock no mods that's what he tolded my friend who roadie for him in Norway in October of 2013.
There is only one Hendrix, but if the spirit is embodied then Randy has it. Truth be told Randy has been doing Hendrix longer than Hendrix was doing Hendrix, lol.
Ok, this guy is new to me today. Amazing. Lots of info to process. But Jimi is Jimi, and I cherish Jimi's gift and I am thankful to be alive to enjoy..
A master of the master will be forever, that is Jimi with or without shit. Randy Hansen just came to look around and has had enough time to copy and to learn. The wheel was all ready invented, Randy knew it was not square, he stay a fan like you and me
@digital0707neo I agree. I grew up in the 60's and followed Hendrix's career from the beginning until his sad untimely death. Always loved his playing and was a big fan but he really was better than he allowed himself to be, if that makes any sense. He never lived up to his potential because of his drug problems and lack of focus. IMHO He was his own worse enemy along with surrounding himself with too many human leeches that sucked him dry. Randy Hansen is simply more focused and dedicated.
Great performance and tone! Full on cranked marshall and fuzzface, and the clean tone from 3.26 is just dripping with vintage Hendrix BOG flavour. Anybody know what gear he is using, and what pickups in his strat?
this is almost exactly the same as the studio version. almost note for note! this guy is a true hendrix fan man. respect. you comin to singapore any time soon?? please do. and let me know if you are!!!
Randy I would love to play drums for you sometime. Mitch Mitchell was my idol, the blues are my life. if you're ever in need of a drummer my resume speaks for itself.
God is waiting: (tribute to) : Greg Lake, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck , David Crosby, Joe Cocker , keith Emerson, Noel Redding, Mitch Mitchell ,Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Prince, jhon Bonham, Richard Wright, Alvin Lee, George Harrison, Jhon Lennon, ginger Baker, BBKing, Ronnie Hawkins, Roebuk Staples, Sister Rosetta Tharpe,Chris Squire,David Brown,Syd Barret,Levon Helm,Rick Danco,Keith Moon,Tom Petty,Ravi Shankar,Gary Moore,Karen Carpenter,Frank Zappa,Jon Lord,Stevie Ray vauhgan,Rory Gallagher..........They are angels of music.
Hi I'm Gordon Fischer from federal way wa William j woods vet s I've known Randy for years and i still play guitar I would like to get yhold ofhim some how.
@digital0707neo I've read pretty much everything about Hendrix, and not anywhere, by anybody, was their even the suggestion that Jimi was addicted to drugs. As far as dedication, Jimi basically never took the guitar off..played many, many hours a day. There's a reason he was the most influential guitar ever, it's because he wanted it, and worked very, very hard at it...anyone who knew him DID say THAT, but no addictions.
@hermanndadi I have seen Gil Evans and Randy Hanson live, and i play guitar too, Randy Hansen, is the best. t all it is difficult to say, because ll re good in their style, but at my opinion only Randy has this skills! Lukas PS: Deutsch?
As any one noticed that Randy does not play with the "anger" that Jimi used to play with. randy seems to enjoy and revel in his craft more than Jimi. I think it might have to do with the fact that Jimi played alot in the midst of his cocaine addiction, and often spoke of his being so easily bored. At the isle of Wright, you can see Jimi tiring at playing his songs. Randy always shows such fun at his concerts.
@digital0707neo The most simple and telling thing of all in comparing Randy Hansen to Jimi Hendrix is that Hansen would never play his guitar out of tune unless it was on purpose while it seemed half the time Jimi was out of tune and didn't even realize it! Sad...
Krass! Hendrix wurde wiedergeboren... Chuck Norris ist der einzige, der nicht stirbt, wenn er versucht Hendrix Musik nachzuspielen.Er ist Randys Gitarre ^^
@BGoldtone dude, c'mon...first no evidence of drug addiction of any kind, and he really was the most influential guitarist ever, through dedication and desire. In spite of Randy's prowess, he is after all, making a living doing covers. From one mans work through a period of 4 years. 4 YEARS. What exactly do you think he did in those 4 years?! Obviously, did drugs and ruined his chances of being a great guitarist....it's not like he was Jimi Hendrix or something..oh, wait....
Jimi played a right handed Strat upside down. Because of the way a Strat's strings all run along one side of the headstock, playing it restrung upside down alters the speaking length of the strings and thus gives a different sound. Some of Jimi's tone will be down to that.
Danke für den Tipp, aber das glaube ich eher nicht, dass es in einem "richtigen" Song vorkommt :) Hört sich mehr wie ein Thema, ein TV-Serien-Intro oder ne Zirkusmelodie an :)
There will never be another Hendrix, but nobody plays Hendrix like Randy!
SRV
I like SRV but he was different.
SRV was agree, in my personal opinion he was better than hendrix, but thats just me, Jimi was his main influence so he had a very similar style of playing to him but i do in some way agree with you
+Maks Bettjn There will never be another Hendrix, but nobody plays Hendrix like Randy
Amen to that brother!

Jimi's music and showmanship lives on through Randy.
Brilliant! He’s amazing.

Holy shit. He is awsome
God da.n Randy that’s as good as it gets, including the little commercial notes in between the song. I wish I could float like that even now and then. Thanks

Excellent singer and showman as well
Thnx a lot for the joy
I love watching this dude!..........Jimi never left us!
Seeing Randy perform is such a pleasure & privilege: he's ultimately INSPIRED and has such fun being the legit channeler of the Hendrix legacy, kudos!!!
I sometimes forgot just fun of music.Randy's smile makes me it remember .
I love Randy Hanson. So good. Tone, playing, performance. None better
Listen Snail's -Pace Slim ( Barry Martin) English band The Hamsters , their version, is more bluesy. . . . And no need ridiculous disguise . . .
Randy is the best when it comes down to Hendrix!(excellent)! randy you need to come to Kansas City and give us a concert!
THIS GUY IS AWESOME, SO MUCH FUN.
Original pickups that came with Hendrix tribute Stratocasters circa 1997-2000. Those guitars are not made anymore and the pickups are known as the 1969's.He uses them stock no mods that's what he tolded my friend who roadie for him in Norway in October of 2013.
Holy. Fucking. Shit. Dude is possessed by Hendrix
And this is awesome..

Lol
Randy Hansen - Pure genius :)
delightful performance! obviously enjoying sharing his talents and also engaging the audience. love this guy - true spirit of rock 'n' roll!!!
There is only one Hendrix, but if the spirit is embodied then Randy has it. Truth be told Randy has been doing Hendrix longer than Hendrix was doing Hendrix, lol.
Just amazing.. He feels it !
great artist this Hansen .... ! Thank you .
IK've seen Randy loads of times and he is simply incredible. I'm sure he only plays concerts to get money to buy new gear to wear :-)
Randy Hansen ist einer der wenigen legitimen Nachfolger von Jimi Hendrix.
searing guitar attack, damn he is fantastic!
magistral execution! You're a soul rock man!
Ok, this guy is new to me today. Amazing. Lots of info to process. But Jimi is Jimi, and I cherish Jimi's gift and I am thankful to be alive to enjoy..

So amazing.
I'm gonna definitely go see these guys he's a great guitar player!!! My god Hendrix would be like wait who's this cat? 😂
This guy is amazing.
love ya Randy. great player.
Randy is the absolute best baby!!! the best!
A master of the master will be forever, that is Jimi with or without shit. Randy Hansen just came to look around and has had enough time to copy and to learn. The wheel was all ready invented, Randy knew it was not square, he stay a fan like you and me
A true artist in his own right, can't wait till you get to Australia Randy.
Please sign my Stratocaster when you get here ?
Showman excelente !!
GREAT !!!
@muellerhouse I agree! Come to Chicago, Randy!
hes agreat player and seems to enjoy playing hendrix so much
Hansen's a funny dude! Similar charisma that Hendrix displayed....cool to have fun with what you're doing!
@digital0707neo I agree. I grew up in the 60's and followed Hendrix's career from the beginning until his sad untimely death. Randy if you read this ,well done 👍
The end of the song is just amazing😂
Randy, você é espetacular! Parece que estou vendo hendrix tocar, você é gênial , parabéns!
Love how he inserted Eleanor Rigby and the Simpsons theme into a blistering Hendrix solo. Lmfao.
Or was that the Flintstones theme?
Un grande spettacolo
Dieser Kerl ist einfach der Hammer!!!
Very Impressed to say the least. Peace.
randy play good, the hair in the air coool
O M G !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Proud to say that he knows my parents by name.
Great performance and tone! Full on cranked marshall and fuzzface, and the clean tone from 3.26 is just dripping with vintage Hendrix BOG flavour. Anybody know what gear he is using, and what pickups in his strat?
wow wow wow
Go man
Randy seems like a really cool dude
this is almost exactly the same as the studio version. almost note for note! this guy is a true hendrix fan man. respect. you comin to singapore any time soon?? please do. and let me know if you are!!!

Someone please try and tell me there have been "more skilled" technicians at their craft than Randy.
Randy I would love to play drums for you sometime. Mitch Mitchell was my idol, the blues are my life. if you're ever in need of a drummer my resume speaks for itself.

Hätte Jimi das nicht als erster gespielt, hätte ich gedacht es ist von Randy und man kann es nicht mehr besser spielen.
well done Randy
I love play Hendrix here im Brazil, but Randy Hansen play a real Hendrix style, he,s great
this guy is good!
Would you mind talking about the stratocaster you’re playing in this video and how you are getting that sound?
Hi I'm Gordon Fischer from federal way wa William j woods vet s I've known Randy for years and i still play guitar I would like to get yhold ofhim some how.
Ich weiß es nicht, aber Ritchie Blackmore verwendet es einmal in Song namens hush (live version, ich glaube, es war 1969, sang Gillan it)
@digital0707neo I've read pretty much everything about Hendrix, and not anywhere, by anybody, was their even the suggestion that Jimi was addicted to drugs. Lukas
PS: Deutsch?
If you thumbs down Hanson, that's ok....but you just don't get it.
This is just wooow damn good XD
Randy plays like Jimi so why isn’t he on the Rolling Stone list of greatest guitarists ever?
Nyt mennään
welche melodie ist das bei 2:43 ? kommt mir irgendwie bekannt vor :)
If only Jimi himself was around to hear this guy play guitar......
yes. good job. very good copy. very good
@Veritas699 you're right..."as humanly possible" +10 !!
Wow, i feel this guy actually plays it better than Hendrix. Randy I you ever come to Chicago, let me know.
You just proved my point.
N1
As any one noticed that Randy does not play with the "anger" that Jimi used to play with. randy seems to enjoy and revel in his craft more than Jimi. excellent c est le successeur de jimmy hendrix
Krass! Hendrix wurde wiedergeboren...
Chuck Norris ist der einzige, der nicht stirbt, wenn er versucht Hendrix Musik nachzuspielen.Er ist Randys Gitarre ^^
he is the best!!! saw him in Tuscon about 35 yrs. ago was like seeing Jimmy and i hear he s a white boy
Randy needs to find a Mitch Mitchell to REALLY get the whole Jimi Hendrix Experience!
This Man seems a lil'bit scared ,fellas!
@BGoldtone dude, c'mon...first no evidence of drug addiction of any kind, and he really was the most influential guitarist ever, through dedication and desire. I saw Fred and Wilma in there
kicks Kenny Wayne Sheppard's ass into oblivion and he knows it.
Ja, das ist es! Aber volle Kanne :D
Why is he playing upside down?
Jimi played a right handed Strat upside down. Because of the way a Strat's strings all run along one side of the headstock, playing it restrung upside down alters the speaking length of the strings and thus gives a different sound.
Some of Jimi's tone will be down to that.
Hört sich für mich nach "Blue Peter" von Mike Oldfield an. Mal reinhören :-)
Voodoo Child (Slight Return) is the name. Voodoo Chile is a whole other song which is much better and different.
Danke für den Tipp, aber das glaube ich eher nicht, dass es in einem "richtigen" Song vorkommt :)
Hört sich mehr wie ein Thema, ein TV-Serien-Intro oder ne Zirkusmelodie an :)
