Toyota is the worse polluter. "Hamilton cites last year’s EPA report on emissions and fuel economy trends which concluded that from 2012 through 2017, the five years in which the combined EPA Greenhouse Gas Emissions and NHTSA CAFE regulations have been in place, “Of these thirteen manufacturers [Honda, Mazda, Hyundai, Subaru, Kia, Nissan Mitsubishi, VW, BMW, Toyota, Mercedes, Ford, GM, FCA] all except for Toyota improved CO2 emissions and fuel economy.”...Hamilton explains how this happened: Their pick-up trucks are less efficient than most of their competitors and they are far behind the industry leaders when it comes to electrification - their plug-in Prius can go a mere 25 miles on a charge before turning over to the admittedly efficient gasoline engine, and they offer a low-volume fuel cell vehicle only in California. They aren’t currently selling any other EVs across the US. jalopnik.com/toyota-isnt-the-environmentally-friendly-one-1839969117
Norm T But are they really the worst polluter though? I would probably give that to BMW or Mercedes. I say this because do you realize how long these Toyota’s will last? Longer than the manufacture of 5 Mercedes. Car manufacturing pollutes the air more than a few mpg does. Sounds like the Toyota is the least polluter to me..🤷🏻♂️

I recently drove a 2019 4Runner for 14 hours straight and wasn't one bit tired! My wife said it has one of the most comfortable passenger seats and leg room. It does lack on tech but that's never my priority. A little bit more power would have made it a game changer.
The Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, and the Cadillac Escalade account for 50% of all large SUV sales in the US. GM makes 340,000 of them every year and exports about 80,000 to 31 countries. They’re made in GM’s plant in Arlington, Texas, which is said to be the most profitable assembly plant in the world. We estimate they generate $20 billion in revenue for GM and about $4 billion in profits. Autoline Daily
I have to go Sequoia because I own a 2018. I love the V8 engine and the responsiveness. I do like the 4Runner because of more aftermarket products. I think the Sequoia should have a side exhaust due to having the rear window down, you will get exhaust fumes in the cabin. Great video.
RDV V everyone says that but even my 2010 sequoia plat has almost every feature i see if not more in most cases than the new mercedes i always drive in at the dealer i work at
I have a 2003 4Runner with 370,000kms and a 2013 Sequoia with 220,000kms. 4.7ltr V8 and 5.7ltr V8 respectively. Love em both. When we head to the cottage we always take the Sequoia. Bigger, smoother ride and more comfortable seats. Most reliable vehicles I have ever owned and also easy to work on. The quality of fasteners and the attention to detail is so far ahead of the competition, that there really is no competition.
Another interesting thing about the Sequoia is that you can drive around on dry pavement in "4H" without damaging the 4wd system. That's because it's got a torsen center limited slip differential, like a Land Cruiser. That's why there is a button to lock the center diff. It's pretty cool because unlike the other full sized suvs in this class that have 4 auto modes, it has a full time awd setting. So normally torque is split 50/50%, where the rest are like 10/90% rear
Man, the Sequoia looks so quick in those 'catching up' shots - I drive a diesel 4 cylinder Land Cruiser because our fuel isn't as cheap as it is in the US, and overall diesel gets better mileage - but a fast v6/v8 Toyota 4x4 sounds and looks AMAZING!
Man the front end design of the 4Runner is just the best design ever imo. I absolutely love how the 4Runner looks but the front end is just so badass. Love everything about my 4runner.
Thank you, THANK YOU, for not pointing out they are “Out Dated”, “Nothing New”, etc.. of all the garbage I hear from other reviewers. Please it’s a family hauler TRUCK, if it works it works. Why mess with perfection. Yeah, MPG sucks but really, if you need it then that doesn’t matter. Much

4Runner wins for me ... better all-arounder than the Sequoia, lighter and more nimble for the trails but still offers enough space to haul a family. I love the front end of the TRD Off Road or Pro. Army Green is such a great colour, fits the 4Runner so well. I really wish Toyota would up their tire game on their TRD Pros though, they need a more aggressive tire from factory.
Quite possibly the best review yet! I loved this color on the FJ, I love it on these "trucks". I agree that the V8 sounds better but that may be the best sounding V6 exhaust on a somewhat normal vehicle. And that old intro 👍
I was in love with the 4Runner until I talked with a friend who owns one. He said he loves my Durango Hemi, which surprised me. V8 power just can't be overlooked. Being able to merge on a metro area highway or overtake on the highway is something you miss with a V6. I got like 15 years out of my Durango, so I'm all about reliability - which is why I'm going Toyota next. Since 4runner will never have a V8- it's Sequoia for me all the way. Perfect video, btw. They went over almost everything I wanted to know. These guys get carried away at times but the info in this one was on point.

Sherm T if you wanted a lot of space you could’ve went for a 2019 sequoia trd sport which you could’ve gotten for also 50k or 45k brand new... I got one on August 2019 when they had the end of the year sales event and I got a trd sport for $45k with 3miles after we test drove it... and it’s really comfortable... 7 seats, fits 3 adults in the 3rd row no problem... you can sit all 7 adults without any issues pretty much but Lexus IS still a nice pick tho🤟🏽🔥

I hope this helps in a sense. normality.
When Toyota gives the 4Runner safety sense 2.0 with stop-and-go adaptive cruise, I might have to buy one. Theyre so badass, reliable, and hold their value incredibly. That’s the one missing feature IMO
I recently bought a 2020 4Runner Limited. I'm ashamed to say I didn't visor test it during any of the drives leading up to purchasing. When I finally got around to testing it (after purchase) I wish I could have captured my reaction to seeing it fail. It was a very sad day. I actually have the Army Green 4Runner. And honestly there's just so many things that make this the perfect SUV/truck above anything else. 1. Obviously the color. Best TRD Pro color of all the years imo. 2. It just looks so aggressive. 3. This year got a small, but needed tech update. No large iPad screen or cumbersome interface menu. 4. It's a simple old school SUV (body on frame) that drives like a truck. 5. Reliability. It's a Toyota. Enough said. And this gen has been around for a decade now. And not that you would, but this is top 5 when it comes to resale value as well.
RDV V Wait, why do you guys not get the Land Cruiser while we in America do? Canada gets a lot of snow up there so I imagine it would be every Canadian’s wet dream.
Tj Pettus If I were to choose between either one, I’d have to choose the Land Cruiser. It’s cheaper to repair a Toyota than it is a Lexus. I’d be a little afraid to take a $90k Lexus off roading or into bad terrain now that I think about it.

Big knobs, small knobs, hard knobs, and soft knobs. This review has all of the most important details.
I can’t afford either one and I won’t be able to for another 20 something years. so it don’t matter lol I like the Sequoia better though
Metal Music \M/ Hallucinations lol thanks
@metal agreed their value remains almost identical even after a few years of good maintenance 🧠 👌🏾
@andrew if you been struggling 10 years ago, then same today & predict the future also will be as bad financially inevitably, then I think you need to reassess your future goals in depth....that's not normal **IF** that isn't what you wish to achieve in the long run, but curious about a vehicle that's just a hair above average U.S. living household income. I hope this helps in a sense. normality.
Andrew, want to change that situation?
When Toyota gives the 4Runner safety sense 2.0 with stop-and-go adaptive cruise, I might have to buy one. Theyre so badass, reliable, and hold their value incredibly. That’s the one missing feature IMO
These intros are 🔥
4RUNNER Hands down been doing the Business since the mid 80's Full Can of Beans ...Proves itself year after years Generation after Generation ...
THIS MY FAV VIDEO - SLOWRUNR
People may think these are old outdated SUVs..but the motors in them are some of the most reliable ones and can last a lifetime!!
I forgot the Sequoia is still in production
At little over 900 in sales per month so do the dealerships.
I recently bought a 2020 4Runner Limited. I'm ashamed to say I didn't visor test it during any of the drives leading up to purchasing. When I finally got around to testing it (after purchase) I wish I could have captured my reaction to seeing it fail. It was a very sad day.
I'm in the process of improvising a sick set of shades that will aid it covering the sun but the trade is that I will no longer be on the cusp of fashionable... Keep up the good work boys
AWESOME INTRO
✌😂😀💝
Rules in 4Runners and Tacoma's:
Never get stock roof rails
get an aftermarket radio cause the stock ones crash
Somehow get a turn dial to turn down the brightness on the screens
I'm a simple man, I hear Teeyota I up vote
Such an awesome review!! Thank you for making this soo much fun!! I love how down-to-Earth both of you are! Thanks for reviewing so many of the little details, that are a big deal, that other reviewers miss!!
Halogens actually help you melting snow on your headlights in snowy conditions
cluckin bell that's grasping at straws if I've ever seen it. I own a 2016 4R and the headlights stock were AWFUL.
Wait for the Laser headlights for that!
Sequoia for me and the wife and our 3 grand kids. Hey Yuri if you drive 1 of these you're not too worried about the environment .
I'm so dead after the "body on frame suv race league" joke 😂 🔥 intro and video btw
There is no competition on sound. V8 always wins. 💪🏻

The Straight Pipes: Lip Chaps
I actually have the Army Green 4Runner. And honestly there's just so many things that make this the perfect SUV/truck above anything else.
1. Obviously the color. Best TRD Pro color of all the years imo.
2. It just looks so aggressive.
3. This year got a small, but needed tech update. No large iPad screen or cumbersome interface menu.
4. It's a simple old school SUV (body on frame) that drives like a truck.
5. Reliability. It's a Toyota. Enough said. And this gen has been around for a decade now. And not that you would, but this is top 5 when it comes to resale value as well.
yees, the old intro style is back! Love your videos guys!
owning a 2011 4Runner, i gotta say, the acceleration is pretty good, not sports car level, but if its your first time in it, you’d be surprised
7:30 thats how close people drive to me in the city and on the highway
Khaki Blue definitely. I'd go 4Runner too.
Sequoia .... Cuz I can't afford a land cruiser 😂
Lexus can't touch the 70 series Landcruisers though 😢
RDV V Wait, why do you guys not get the Land Cruiser while we in America do? Canada gets a lot of snow up there so I imagine it would be every Canadian’s wet dream.
You would think right? I think the closest we get to a lancruiser is the Lexus lx570 comparing to the LC200
Ehhh the Lx570 and land cruiser are basically the same. Lexus just lil more upscaled
Tj Pettus If I were to choose between either one, I’d have to choose the Land Cruiser. It’s cheaper to repair a Toyota than it is a Lexus. I’d be a little afraid to take a $90k Lexus off roading or into bad terrain now that I think about it.
Notifications still aren't working, but I love how your videos are the first thing that pop up when I get into UA-cam!
Oh, and Voodoo Blue all the way!
Ah damn, you miss out on all the live videos. Maybe your app has notifications turned off through Android / Apple settings
@@TheStraightPipes I'll have a looking those settings. Thanks guys!
Oh, I'm Team Android. Bugger that Apple stuff 😜
Edit: It was the App settings. They were all turned off.
Voodoo blue is unbelievable
4Runner driver here: I love lip chap.
Im so happy to see the old intro with an upgrade
Oh my god how jealous that you guys have those awesome SUVs. 4Runner imported in Germany costs like 50000-70000 €
we are jealous you have autobahns
@@himalayapatel2052 Oh well if you knew how much taxes we pay to keep the Autobahn safe for highspeed travel every year. I can life without it. I usually cruise at 87mph or 140kmh. But we all pay the same taxes despite how fast we are driving.
@@himalayapatel2052 True, but you end up in traffic jams just as often. But I will still fight to keep the autobahn as a piece of driving culture as it is. There are so many hippies and snowflakes in office and the public sphere in Germany right now who want to limit and regulate every little thing about live.
But Consumer Reports has it ranked last in segment here.
Norm T why? What’s the cause/problems?
I went with the 2019 Tundra Crewmax with a camper shell over the bed. The back seat is so massive that my kids can square dance back there.
1:03 the sequoia looks like the rear suspension collapsed a little lol
The camera work in your videos is so good! Keep it up!
Damn you, no off-roading! I can go open doors at the dealership myself!
4Runner for trips with 1-4 people and rock crawling
Sequoia for most everything else, especially with passengers and lots of luggage/gear, and still a capable off-roader for what 99% of people will need.
Toyota sequoia my choice 👍🤘
Want Them Both! Toyota For The Win!!!!
12:49 there is power liftgate in the sequoia, located on the left
Does the 4runner not have it?
No matter what car you buy. When you put the pedal to the metal you always expect a kick or quick response and it absolutely matters!!
Dammmmmn That is one fine intro!!
Anyone else notice how the 4Runner and Sequoia are just the SUV equivalents of the Tacoma and Tundra
Finally the old intro back again!
Hard to beat the sound of a V8, but that is one of the better sounding 6's to me. Overall, hard to beat the 4Runner if you are really going to go off road.
10:48 you got the mask upside down. Trust me, I live in Asian country.
bit irrelevant now isnt it?
As an Aussie, Sequoia aren't avail here, I 100% would take the Sequoia over any other Toyota.
Bro I’m totally killing it in my body on frame SUV league.
I would take the 4Runner. Army green and the Voodoo Blue are my favorite colors. The 4L V6 is a great engine. I have a 2007 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab trd sport 4x4 4.0L v6 with 160,xxx and it runs great.
I've always debated the rims/wheels terms.
To me Tires+Rims=Wheels.
Rims aren't wheels in my book.
I agree
A wheel has a rim but a rim does not have a wheel, and neither are tyres imo
