So glad I found your Chanel! I love your process, your risk taking and easy demeanor. I’m new to artmaking and your way of demonstrating really is in sync with me. Thanks for a great beginning to this abstract piece.
such an inspiration.....you show how being gutsy and risking it all is how it find the place in the piece resonates with your inner self....i love watching you paint - i learn so much from your videos and so much of what you say and do is exactly what i need to hear and trust for myself...thank you so much....cheers, Linda
I also enjoyed watching and seeing the evolution of this painting. Thanks again. Cynthia Hubbard (from the 2023 France retreat. Totally inspired by my time there to paint again!)
hi Andrea, I am new too your channel. I really appreciate the "realness" of your teachings. I like, that you explain your own process, so one gets to understand, why you are doing, what you are doing. It is so helpful, as I am a self-taught artist. Thank you much for sharing your experience so openly. It's a great inspiration and encouragement for me. ( by the way I live in the South of France - in the Ariege ) merci - et bonne soirée!
This one is great! I totally got something out of it, thank you for being so generous in sharing your process. I literally laughed out loud about the tooth!! Too funny. I love those blues, too. Looking forward to seeing the rest. Blessings!
Andrea, I recently found your videos and am really enjoying them! I've been doing wax/oil for several years but lately have been finding myself getting stuck. Its refreshing to see you do the same but pushing through, I really needed to see you work through that. Is there a reason you used galkyd instead of wax for this piece? I look forward to watching all your videos! Thank you for all the sharing. Diane
Great tutorial! Thank you! :) I've been thinking about trying oil/wax, and this has helped me a lot. However, the link to the handout is not working, at least for me :(
Oh My Goodness, yes you're right, that's the wrong handout link 😬 I just corrected it and here you go: mailchi.mp/25afea07de20/elements-of-art-pdf-signup
Andrea is that a piece of glass you use as a palette for cold wax and oil? I have lots of it so will get some out and use it if it is. I am using freezer paper at the moment but will run out of that soon.
Im a subscriber but haven't been hear in a while. Im wondering what you are using as a reference. Is it a picture of someone's painting? A photo? Thanks.
The painting is a pure abstract and has nothing to do with the reference photo in terms of the composition, intent, imagery beyond a general mood I picked up viewing the image and the colors.
I love how you work and tell us what you’re thinking and why
Glad to hear it !

Hello there, I’m glad. I worried I might have been all over the place throwing out bits and pieces of information

I use galkyd gel when I want more fluid paint with a glossier finish 💕

@@artistspace Great, thank you! :)
Have you used pigments with acrylic mediums?
Yes and they work

Yes it’s a piece of glass and works wonderfully
Loved your blue lines…. You said it was dry pastel?…. on oil? Or oil pastel crayon…?
….if dry pastel ,I have no idea how-to seal it!
Dry pastel and you seal with with a fixative for pastels ☺️
