I started adderall 6 years ago for my ADHD. I went from a college drop out to getting a bachelors, masters, and credential. That over productive smart person was and "is" amazing. But when I'm real with my self, so many bad side effects. Just like you said, I can't do simple tasks with out it. I hardly get sleep. My hands and feet now go numb from bad blood circulation when I'm on it, and I'm afraid one day I will have a heart attack. The list goes on. I've tried to quit but every time I try I feel like a zombie. Hearing you say there is a light at the end of the tunnel motivates me....just a depressing thought perhaps I can't be that person without it. Thank you for the insight, glad to see you were able to overcome it.
Thank you for sharing your story and where you’re at! I definitely know that zombie feeling and it’s awful. But I promise it does get better and the depression and lack of motivation are not permanent. It’s terrifying to get off because there is this mental dependency, you feel like you’re losing yourself if you go off of it and can’t be productive. I’ve found that myself and others I know actually found themselves when getting off of it. The sooner you get off of it the better, those side effects take a heavy toll (I’ve had most of them too, don’t miss having numb feet). I got through it through relying on people around me especially when my headspace got super dark. Detox centers are even an option although not necessary. Drink a ton of water, take vitamins, eat healthy food- get everything you need before detoxing and prepare Netflix. Haha best thing is to distract yourself sometimes. And to remember that it will not last forever. It lasts way longer when you stay on it
We have different underlying mental health conditions and did different drugs, yet I can still deeply relate with what you've been through. You're a beautiful human being, very inspiring hearing what you've been through and where you are now. These kinds of stories help me a lot in dark periods. Thanks for sharing and for the masterclass on Adderall addiction; I think I will avoid.. Wishing you the best Emma Watson!
Man I liked and loved this comment 😂 thank you. Genuinely means a lot. Same hearing addiction recovery stories have held me up through times of total agony and hopelessness, also through the boredom and discomfort of living a regular life sober after so many years. Can tell you’ve got courage, we’ve gotta fight like hell to get back and keep our lives but oh man is it better than active addiction
@@womaninthewave I liked and love your comment as well! Even more than I loved oxycontin. Couldn't agree with you anymore, words of real experience in the trenches. Lets keep the fight going Barbara Walters:)
helped at first for a bit but now its a dependence and i dont even get anything done. Also so many side effects the worst for me being lack of social desire i just want to be alone.Which is really harmful over long term and has cost me my social life

Thank you for this … You’ve opened my mind…. I’ll still swallow that orange capsule in the morning but…. You have got my questioning things… However , I still need to perform.. I have bills to pay, mouths to feed… But FR FR Thank you.
Wow this made my day, glad I could help open your mind. If you have any questions lmk. All up to you but if you do want to stop using it it is absolutely possible and often for most people allows them to get their real life back
I have soooo many questions but I don’t want to “intrude” or … get too personal to the point you become uncomfortable… I need you to set boundaries please
@@PJ-iq1vwhello I’m sorry for my delayed response- I’m really an open book when it comes to answering any questions about Adderall addiction. Addiction in general as well. But I’d like to stick to just those topics. Really am happy to help
For certain - they are all completely related (just maybe personal) . Trying to determine if some of my thought processes are normal or… should I say “symptomatically abnormal, but common enough to be “normal” Like - I scare myself sometimes .. YKW, I’m glad you are “open” and able to discuss any/every thing in a public format.. But in all honesty I don’t think I am. But please know you are appreciated ! Thanks
kratom is addiction but adderall is the real monster. My sis was prescribed 60mg by a for profit doctor and she lost her mind for about 3 months. Long term daily Adderall use is basically begging for psychosis.
How do you manage your adhd without adderall? I’m 2 years off it and the suicidal thoughts and feeling miserable is gone. But I still have a hard time focusing and getting motivated to do stuff. Any suggestions?
Adderall is bad for the teeth, it lead to dry mouth and in turn this lead to changes in teeth colorization etc. I'm ADHD and using prescription medications for 15 years already.
My friend Has ADHD and she has been on Adderal almost her whole life, She slowly kinda went insane. Some people can handle the constant use of it but it can grate on your brain plasticity. For me I have no ADHD symptoms so I loved taking Adderal for fun but then I moved over to meth and was surprised how similar they felt. I have been clean from drugs for awile but was on Every drug in existence at times. I think long term Adderal use will not effect most in a positive manner, My friend with ADHD started to use meth now and I told her it's not worth it because her Adderal is the same thing but less terrible.
I have adhd inattentive type im worried to take amphetamine ritalin I tried concerta it didn’t fixed my brain fog or inattentiveness I keep forgetting stuff now I know why it’s banned here even though I have adhd
Hi Emma where are you from in US? You’re so pretty I wouldn’t think you had been into meth after seeing all the pics of people who got deep into that! I have ADHD and was diagnosed as a child but my parents didn’t want me prescribed anything so I think my dependency was me trying to just feel normal as a coping mechanism so I’d move from one drug to another. Started with smoking and alcohol at 15-16 then started going out drinking and having molly and speed then went to university and got into weed and was fine on that for years until a friend gave me tramadol he got from his gran then started buying that from India before it was controlled. I’m now clean off tramadol for 6 months and had been on that from 25 to 40. Trying to get rediagnosed for adhd as never had medication for it but there’s a shortage so not much chance getting anything anyway.

Very brave of u to tell your story Emma.
I want so desperately to listen to this because it appears to be full of good info, but I can't get past the "UMs" after nearly every sentence. 😵💫🤯
