Lived in bowling green since 2007. Never seen anything like this, but this is a strong community. Whole neighborhoods out helping one another, our first responders along with help from nearby counties have been working hard.
I LOVE the Bowling Green area. I actually have distant cousins who live (or lived?) there. I met them when I was 11 when we visited Kentucky. My mom grew up in Glendale (very small town). My heart goes out to the families who lost their loved ones in this tragedy!
We also lost many businesses and it hit our largest industrial park destroying one plant completely and damaging several others. Unfortunately our death toll is now at 15 with 15 others unaccounted for as of today. Thank you for the media coverage.
My grandma lives in bowling green, I honestly hope that everything can go back to normal soon, I feel bad for everyone who was there during that tornado
It won't go back to normal.. to be honest, by the end of the month 90-200 people will be pronounced dead at this rate.. so many jobs, live homes and even things like heirlooms destroyed. Edit: Should've mentioned this, im talking about everywhere that was hit by the tornado outbreak.
They should launch an investigation to this. There was airplanes spraying stuff leaving trails in patterns in the sky. I checked my app and it shows airplanes departure and landing. The planes that were spraying aerosols do not show this is an attack on the community.
Man that is scary! Read about a Man and his mother where literally sent flying into their backyard. Thankfully besides scrapes, bruises and shock, they are ok. But their house was flattened. My family almost moved to that area 5ish years ago. So scary we would have been in that.
It's chaos over here I didn't even know it happend until two days later then we drove to it neighborhoods destroyed that's not even the worst part it's the fact the places it hit was random as first hand accounts have all told me if just skipped some neighborhoods and destroyed others there was really no path it was crazy.
Having gone through a dozen hurricanes here on the Texas gulf coast I know how these people feel. My thoughts and prayers go out to all that have been effected.
Prays to those that lost family members in the storm! Hope yall have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope yall in Kentucky have a speedy recovery and rebuild!
Damage has to be assessed and depending upon the insurance company some may have to wait months. One should also factor in how many claims those insurance companies will receive, as a result of this.

even 70mph wind gusts leave damages to trees and property, which is quickly becoming commonplace. we didn't have such windstorms in the past, but now I am afraid what to do, whether to move or if more and as severe windstorms come what will happen next. This is in the Northeastern states. These 150mph twisters are like atomic bombs in their destruction. Climate change, warming temperature, and the wild temperature swings, we are all damned.
At 80 seconds the narrator says , " Meanwhile at Western Kentucky University , this surveillance camera may have captured the " tornado 's" moment of impact ". I'm not trying to be rude , but I don't see any tornado in all that lightning . I did see an explosion of light in the downtown area that looked like a DEW weapon hitting roofs , but I didn't see any tornado. Either the University's camera caught a tornado or it didn't. Why is this narrator saying the camera " M a y " have caught the moment of impact. ?? If a tornado hit downtown Bowling Green amongst all that lightning , we would definitely be able to see the tornado . Amateur photographers caught the E4 on the ground in Missouri that night every time lightning illuminated the sky. Why won't the University release photographs of this alleged " tornado " that hit downtown Bowling Green if such a tornado was what caused all that destruction ? The public deserves to know the truth.
When they rebuild why don't they put storm shelters in every neighborhood especially when you live in Tornado Alley every neighborhood should have storm shelters
What a strange name for a town! I would like to know how it got its name, i wonder if the pastures there were a smooth as a bowling green when the europeans first arrived there many years ago? Also my condolences to all the people affected by these terrible winds and to those who have lost homes or family or both :( Big love from Wales.
I'm sorry for this, but I must insist someone living in Wales has no right to call anyone else's town names weird. ...Jokes aside, it is an odd name for a town.
Bowling Green was named after a park in New York. There used to be a statue of George III there but the colonists pulled it down. The Bowling Green park in New York is near Wall Street. There are 11 towns named Bowling Green in the USA and Bowling Green KY is the largest. They manufacture the Corvette here. I love my home town.
I am so sorry for all the misery these folks are now going through...but also I am flabbergasted (perhaps blubbergasted would be more appropriate) at all the obeasity! Almost everyone is way-way beyond just being over-weight...
Oh yeah. That's very practical. And what shall we do with the millions of misplaced people? Here's an idea. Recognize that these events are our new normal, thanks to climate change, and toughen building codes and require safe rooms in all business; give tax rebates for those who build their own in their residences.
There are many who believe climate change is not man-made. I am one of those, but I definitely believe that climate change is real and that humanity is not helping.
