We'll look at how to sing so that your audience believes and trusts you and go through a vocal exercise that helps open you up to get you to that place. Singer Brian Howe passed today at 66. He was the most underrated singer in Rock imo. Please do a "what makes this singer great". He had a fantastic tone and great range for his chest voice. Dude could rock!

The "best" note is the most effective, communicative notes. Disciplined crafting of a song to the point where you are living the song and you can relax and inhabit the song is critical.

Ideally, you would spend at least an hour, per day, on actual workouts and then any additional time, using proper vocal methods, on a song.

Hello there, despzero!
Here is some great advise that I heard that is applicable for achieving the goal of communicating through song. The advise I heard was to sing thoughts not notes.
Singing notes is singing while thinking about the mechanics or the musicality of singing. Singing thoughts is singing while thinking about and focusing on the thoughts you are trying to communicate while letting the musicality and mechanics be largely reflexive (getting the musicality and mechanics to be really good and largely reflexive is the point of training).
This of course is far easier said than done but if you can sing thoughts, the natural inflections indicative of passionate speech will show up in your singing. If you just sing notes, those inflections get lost and the message won't resonate with the listener.
In other words there has to be a piece of you that is audible otherwise its just pretty sounds. Pretty sounds can be pleasing to the ear but its often not the kind of attention grabbing performance needed to get people coming back for more.

Well here's an another example about emotions, and I think more than metaphor Ken...
Pick A note On E string...Just the way you tune your guitar...
So we have A note picked on E string and
What else we have on unpicked A string..
Have you ever noticed?..
When you pick A on E string, the open A string begins to vibrate itself without picking..
I strongly think;
What we call life is a compositon of frequencies which of some are just the right ones to create resonaitons!

Well think about a pornografik sequence that you watch...
What is its frequency? and what is the emotional resonation that is created in you?
And what this leads to your endocrynologic state, or to put it more understanble way..to your hormones?..

Ken, why do you think we don't see the great rock type vocalists of the 70s-80s any more? That type of music just doesn't seem to exist.
Supply and demand. It's just not what's in style, I guess.
@@kentamplin So true Ken though I believe labels are largely responsible for the change. Labels wnt to strip off as much meat off the bone as they can. They couldn' do it as easily with 70's 80's rockacts as thy can with the semi talents of today...
