In this lesson, we take a good look at what we do in every day speaking to realize that it is possible to hit higher notes that might have been previously "off limits" before. Singing begins in the mind and can limit our vocal abilities in unnecessary ways. Let's learn how to not let our minds limit our range!

I have tried to explain this phenomena to many friends. Where a person's natural speaking voice does affect where they sing naturally and figuring out how speech can help you understand going higher or even lower. Delivery of the lyric itself and vowel shape is more important than people like to think. I'm no expert but it's good to hear these things I've noticed echoed so eloquently. Great series of videos 🤘

AWE SUM, if our voice (the sound) is a mixture of vocal chords vibrations, muscles and air flow, how can you say that we cannot train those ‘ingredients’ to expand vocal range? We can practice our vocal chords to vibrate faster, and with greater amplitude therefore, to increase vocal range.

Nelson Brilhante - That clown doesn’t sing. We are all born with potential range, not usable range. Just because a person can squeeze out a C5 doesn’t mean they can sing it. In an untrained state they may only be able to sing a C3.

Force vs flow. This is what allows me to hit high notes. You have to be relaxed and just let your voice naturally go there without tension. Tension/strain will mess you up and give you a bad pitch. Glide they're and ride the wave. 10 years of singing experience and it took me that long to discover it. I stumbled upon this by accident. This takes massive concentration and I recommend people practice sensational awareness in order to get this. I have to articulate though but that is also another thing that people are missing. A good mind-body connection.

I actually just really like to sing in my car and stuff and my girlfriend always tells me I should try to learn more. I love ‘trying’ to sing Layne Staley or Alice In Chains. OMG you have the most funniest and even amazing tips to sing better. I'm so happy I found your channel. I've been surching for so many things to help me, like apps, online courses and all was making me feel like it was so much responsability and little boring details (I know they are necessary tho) that they were making me very anxious and I have this problem. I'm a very anxious person and I always end up no practicing things because I'm afraid it will take too long for me and I'll never be able to learn. I know, it's a lot of stuff going on in my mind, but your videos gave more confidence somehow. I don't feel so much under pressure. Yesterday I gave up singing a cover from a band I love, because the vocalist screams and I'm bad at screaming. Then I said to the guys from my band that I couldn't do it and I changed the song. Than I just watched you video about how to scream and add distortion to the voice and I was here following you, doing the exercises. I realized that If I had seen you video before I wouldn't have give up. It would have taken few days of practicing. Anyway, thank you so much! I'll do the cover for sure in the future. 🤘💙

Man that was hilarious I never knew singing had this funny side to it. Iv sung for fun with my guitar for yrs and I'm pretty good nothing like u am not going there. And iv never really done any practicing like this, I make up songs and match my voice to the chords I play and make up words. This way of practicing is so new to me, iv only just started watching u and I'm blown away by the techniques, sound really helpful advice and it has to be said uv got a great sense of urself to not let it bother u that it might sound or look silly till u get it right. It puts a lot of people off singing when they can't hit the note straight away so they think they can't sing
Love learning from u I'm sure I tried to enroll in ur free course bu can't seem to get on to it for some reason al keep trying and keep watching and having fun with this super helpful thanx

Really enjoying your content man. UA-cam recommendations got me here and even though i already do some of these things I didn’t know exactly how I was doing it to explain to others. I’m not trained on notes though, I just hear a note and I can sing it. Same with writing music. I’m primarily an unclean vocalist and the video on how you do it helped me know exactly where that sound was so I could comfortably switch in and out without changing my volume. I learned to scream by copying the voice from the grudge and shifting it farther down, then when I found that region I just shifted my air flow to change pitch. Not sure what the technique there is. My yells however are very close to your video but I dip in and out of a fry scream with them to make them feel less like a technique and more like someone aggressively mad. My band mirror my lies has a song called malleus est Mortis where I do almost every unclean in my arsenal.

Like how this ties into the video about finding you own voice by singing some made up phrase (and not emulating someone from another song). You're not emulating, you're exploring. Chris a smart guy.

This video, I followed along one time. Wrote a new song and recorded it the other day, tried the technique and was able to reach an exciting new vocal sound. Enrolled in your 12 week course today. Thank you very much.

Cool. Thanks brother. I have always been a stickler for drop Db but my main gits for recording have forced me back up to standard. Need all the help I can get. Will be watching all your Vids.
