For some crazy reason, people let their children walk far distances to or from home. They know there are predators who kidnap kids every day throughout the country. Also, calling the cops is the right thing to do, but what happens when they take long to arrive, and there's people breaking into your house? That's why you have to have cameras and be armed.

People are ballsy nowadays. Two months ago at about 10 PM, I had someone turning the front door knob and trying to push the door open. The fact that both my adult daughter and I were sitting in the living room and almost every light was on inside the house didn't deter them one bit. As soon as I shouted that I was calling the police it stopped.

I’m a single dad of daughters that are my life, I’m SO cautious and protective but my ex just hd my girls walk home from school even after my middle angel told me a grey haired man kept following her home from school, he’d wait in the trees for her to pass and then follow. It infuriated and terrified me. I told my ex I’d pick her up from school everyday from then on but she was more concerned about me getting extra time with my daughters where she was trying to make her new boyfriend “new dad” than actually worrying about our daughters safety. She acted like everything was fine and the girls were safe , refusing to let me pick up and drop them off just to be difficult. Makes me sick, I bought all 3 of my girls a military grade pepper gell dispenser made to look like lip gloss container and carried a very violent dose of accelerated pepper gell similar to bear spray and begging the process to gain more custody to be able to protect my daughters and have more time with them their mom isn’t spending with them and denying me. For any parents out there being stubborn JuST becasue you’ve decided to go play instead of being the prentice your children deserve, don’t take it out on them and refuse to let their other parent protect and support them when you are not . Think of your kids before your own desire to be single again or “childless” when you hve children. We live in a disturbing scary society today both in dangers outside the home and with parents being terrible parents . Our children deserve the world, all the love and protection imaginable. Praying my ex will grow up and stop her immaturity and narcissistic lifestyle . It’s great that UA-camrs play these videos , so others see this happens ALL the time and often times when u you u hear of someone disappearing or “running away” it’s often worse. Protect your home, have a plan! I’m greatful to live where I can hve firearms and legally conceal carry a handgun, I’ve been able to protect my daughters in an attempted break in because of my firearm and I can’t imagine living in a state or place it’s not allowed but good on office bloke dad for picking up a golf club agasint 4 guys. That was messed up with the locked out kid with no key. What a badass for yelling and throwing things at them..
Side note, I think all parents should teach their kids to never say they’re are home alone whether someone comes to the door or walking down the street alone always reply with something like “my dad is in his room I can go get him” and call police or for this kid “ I have to go I’m meeting my dad down the street” or something of that sort. Not saying it will always work but it should be taught even if it’s just a small deterrent.

We have a ring doorbell thank goodness. I have to tell you that when I was a little girl, I was walking home from school, I was 6 and a man in a blue car stopped and asked me if I wanted a ride. I said no. Then further along (I was only 3 houses away from my home) he came by again, opened the passenger door and said he would give me candy if I got in. I didn’t get in, thank goodness. This was a long time ago before there was really talk about this. I think I had a guardian angel with me. He was young - late teens or early 20’s. I kind of shudder to think what might have happened if I had gotten in. Well, I ran to my house screaming and was later talking to a policeman. He was never caught. Then when I was older and single I was living in an apartment on the 2nd floor. Thing was the 1st floor was underground and my window to my living room was at ground level but I was never home, always working and going to school. One night I came home with a friend and noticed someone looking in that window. I didn’t have any coverings because I didn’t have much there and there were woods behind me. After I screamed he left. Later (after my friend left) I got ready for bed - I had bedsheets on that window in my bedroom. I let my eyes get used to the dark and then moved the sheets to see outside and he was there! He stood up and he was wearing all black, knit hat, black sweatshirt and pants. I screamed again and he took off. I called the cops and of course he was never found. Now, I close and lock every door and cover my windows. I used to wake up with nightmares after that one! Be safe!

In the US we have was is called the Castle Doctrine. Meaning if someone breaks into your home you can use lethal force to protect yourself. Usually in the US this means a firearm but I know people who have swords for the same reason.
I can remember waking up to some noise at one of my windows. I grabbed a sword from the wall and moved to ambush the person who was coming in my window. His foot came in and I told him this wasn't his apt. He drunkenly mumbled he'd lost his keys. I told him I didn't care because this wasn't his apt and if he kept coming in the window he was going to leave with the coroner in a bag.
He slowly pulled his leg out of my apt and wandered off.

This is the reason I keep my 12 gauge loaded. Scariest thing you can ever hear is when you hear the pump of a shotgun. I live out in the country and I would have wildlife setting mine camera off. My German Shepherds are also a big deterrent.
You need to watch the man who broke into his girlfriend's house and her father shot and killed him. He was warned not to come in but he had gone crazy.

9:13 this is way too common for kids to just walk home from school or practice. My kids will never ride a school bus or walk home ever nor will they play outside without me present. Nor will they be spending the night at friends houses. The friends can come over for sleepovers.

Pretty much the same here. I'm lucky enough to have full view to our street from my office window. Kiddos can play there, and are allowed only in specific people's houses (who we know). Sleepovers are only with certain family members/very long-time family friends, and at our house.
It really sucks that this is how things are these days, but it's like the more you look into how often terrible things occur, the harder it is to just say "Yeah sure, do what you want kids! Have fun!"
