I love your channel. I like the way you describe the food. Watching your channel gives me a break from all the craziness in the world right now. I feel like that I'm almost there with you two. Very enjoyable to watch. Thank you.
The food looks incredible. I was always a fan of L&L drive inn for their plate lunches when I lived in Hawaii. I left in 1994 right after finishing high school.
There meals are so well balanced with plenty of vegetables that aren't in a salad all the time , makes a nice change. 👍 So many choices fantastic . This trip was amazing thanks for sharing these amazing locations and flavors of the world .
You guys are lucky, you can eat anything, in my family we have a lot of restrictions due to health issues and allergies - but I like to enjoy vicariously through you. I really like the idea of spiral pasta instead of the usual macaroni and red beans w/ rice instead of just the white rice - seems very “foodie” style for Hawaii. 👍🏿 🍍
The Katsu curry moco... oh my goodness! All of the food looks amazing but I would definitely love the curry moco. Maybe because it has similar elements to loco moco which is one of the few Hawaiian dishes I can make.
Wow! Thanks for this yummy, nostalgic video! I'm drawn most to the plates from Hamada General Store. I miss kalua pork, especially cooked the og way in an imu. Kahai Kitchen's plates looked deliciously high-end! The opakapaka made my mouth water.🌺 ❤️ ❤️
Wow, some of those meals look better streetside than in high-end fancy places. It is okay to enjoy Co Co Puffs and Spam Matsubi on Vacation sometimes but YES adding some greens once and a while is smart.
We look forward to your return. Loved seeing your review of different plate lunch places. It gave me a new appreciation and reminder of the wonderful food that is available in Hawaii.
That was so good! I’ve never eaten at any of those places but we don’t try too many places. Now I want to try all those places! Cheryl & I enjoyed watching this episode!!! Thank you! 🤙🏽😁
I remember shopping at Hamada store growing up. We would buy all our can goods from there and they always packed them in boxes. The food looked ono! I want to try all theee places. So glad they are all near by.
Shinichi, when you were a kid, growing up in Hawaii, there was a popular burger joint on the first floor of Ala Moana, called "Jon's". That's where I used to get my "Green River", usually with a cheese bun, basically cheese in a hamburger bun.
thank you for this video! What a nice intro to Hawaiian plate lunches. They looked so yummy! I hope you can return soon but first come visit us in NYC!!!
Hey! Did anyone else catch the little cameo @16:49..? There was cute little black chicken in the background! It completely threw me off, and I had to do double take to make sure it was actually a chicken I saw..and sure enough it was! Heh, I guess he was hoping that Shinichi dropped a bit of his plate lunch so he could get a taste. Man, that food pretty amazing and I especially loved that prices were really reasonable especially considering the quality and quantity of the food. It can be hard time some times in big tourist destinations like Hawaii to find good deals on food and such. Plus, the plate lunch style of homestyle comfort food is personally my kind of food! I wish I was in Hawaii right now, in the bright sun and with a cool sea breeze, and of course...with a big plate lunch in front of me!
I'm lucky to have an L&L by me but I would love to explore all the places you guys have shown us in this and previous plate lunch videos. Stay safe and healthy! 🖤
Ayyy, I was just at Royal Kitchen today and thought about your folks video from awhile back. And now you folks are back in Hawai'i 🥰 Btw, made your mom's recipe for korokke the other day too and it was so ono!
I go to Pioneer Saloon every month. You guys missed out. The baby tako, short ribs, and neba neba don are epic. Everything there is cooked perfectly though.
Guys, everything looked delicious, but I think my favorite would have to be the tomato chili fried chicken from the saloon place. I'm a bit surprised that Satoshi didn't opt for some kind of beer with his plate lunch choice. Love you two🥰🤗!
I live here and haven’t eaten there lol! I’ll def try them now but that park…be careful because it’s not too safe 🥸 I really wish some of the eateries will reach out to you to sponsor your meals!
Hi Great Video I'm only down the ways havnt tried these YUMMY food. Will do so soon. I'll them about you video. Glad your home LOVE GOD BLESS You Both ALOHA Always Sister Chrissy Honolulu Hi 😙💙💙⚘
Green River is so good. Reminds me of perfectly made lemon lime Kool Aid from childhood. If I see the bottled version at shops selling classic bottled sodas, I buy it. Does the version sold in Hawaii have fizz?
satoshi, you should've ordered the shiso wakame rice with the furikake ahi. that way you wouldn't have needed to scrape it off your fish and would satisfy my curiosity about it lol. you've introduced 3 new places for me to check out, they all looked so good! i know what you mean about plate lunches not being the healthiest choice but i think you showed wonderful options. thank you, gents!
Opakapaka = Pink Snapper for those that are unfamiliar with the local names used in Hawaii. Making crock pot Kalua Pig this weekend. I always add a light drizzle of shoyu on my mac salad. America's Test Kitchen (from PBS) has a really good Mac Salad recipe if you want to make it when you get back to Japan: ua-cam.com/video/Cp0uO_pcbdA/v-deo.html The cheese in that pasta salad looked like Feta, which is a goat's milk cheese. Higher in protein and lower in fat than cows milk cheeses.
looks like you traveled around a bit to eat plate lunch. i like lunchwagons . its funny u went to eat at mother waldron park there used to be lots of homeless there pretty sad. when i was young my family met every weekend to play volleyball n have a cook out we made friends with the few homeless there n we always made them a plate for dinner. satoshis chicken plate from kahai kitchen looked good. yes hawaii got lots of eats we say gotta go moimoi ( take a nap) after eating
Only 3??????? There are 7 to 20 plate lunch and local favs in a eye site radius of where you are in hawaii!!! Look around and venture out! Somany delicious surprises everywhere!!!
Weird how we don't have to travel to experience a lot of international foods in America. I just go to my local store and there it is. Unless your town has been taken over by walmart. Local stores carry so many international products now days which makes it so easy to recreate these dishes.
Hey guys show the food but please don't show you eating it. In presentation the best don't show shoveling food into thier mouths. Also no commentary about the smell or smells of food. You are presenters, who cares what you have personally tried. We are interested in what you can show. Why because it is show you are presenting.

Yes I'm getting hungry. Everything looks so delicious. I would definitely try the hurricane chicken and the tomato chili chicken.
Another video where you make me jealous. Thanks!
I certainly love the Hawaiian tours and this show delights my home and keeps me and my parents occupied from boredom. Thank you

🌺 came over to your channel from Amanda and Felix’ channel at Kakaako farmers market. Loving exploring with you guys.. Mahalo and Aloha from Kauai🌺
Welcome back guys! 🤙🤙
We look forward to your return. Loved seeing your review of different plate lunch places. It gave me a new appreciation and reminder of the wonderful food that is available in Hawaii.
Looks sooooo good!!!

Aloha TabiEats !! I enjoy your vlogs ! Mahalo for sharing ! Yummy Plate Lunches !
I loved Pioneer Saloon so much I went for lunch twice. I saw it featured in Terrace House.
Yummy video…thanks for sharing your plate lunches with us!! 💟💟💟
You make me want to go visit Hawaii again. One visit isn't enough. This is fun.
Your choices make it look good. Keep finding good eats and letting us know. ❤
Awesome thanks for sharing this video with us all take care stay safe ❤️😘😘❤️👍
That purple rice at the Pioneer place reminds me of Hmong (hill tribe people in Laos, Vietnam, etc) purple sticky rice.
I tried spam musubi today! It was super yummy. Thanks for all your videos!!!
Try the green lemonade at Hotdog on a Stick for a not so sweet Green River.
watching your videos makes me miss home!
All the plates looked so good, but esp of Satoshi's ahi tuna sprinkled with furikake. My mouth is watering...

I still get it from St. Louis drive inn! But Shinichi is right. The older I get, the sweeter is seems.
Next time I visit Hawaii, I’ll check out those places
Everything looks amazing. I love Ito En's Jasmine Tea. It is one of my favorite teas.
Deliciousness!😋
🌺 mahalo for Hamada’s and where they are, will go next trip to Oahu . The Katsu curry… yummmm love your reviews 🌺
Thanks!
Thank you so much!
So cool! My sister's friend is one of the owners of Hamada's!😋
Your audio levels were all over the place. The food looks great
Good spots to hightlight and all are good. I go often to Pioneer Salon. Satoshi picked my favorite one, Furikake Ahi. Both of you make me hungry.
I love you boys so much❤️❤️❤️
thank you for this video! What a nice intro to Hawaiian plate lunches. They looked so yummy! I hope you can return soon but first come visit us in NYC!!!
Love your shirt shinichi!!
I think my favourite plate was the spicy tomato chicken but the tuna one also looked awesome. Yum!

Kahai Kitchen used to be called Goodie-Goodie Drive In. On the corner of King St and Isenberg St was Chunkyʻs Drive In.
I'm lucky to have an L&L by me but I would love to explore all the places you guys have shown us in this and previous plate lunch videos. Stay safe and healthy! 🖤

Y’all gotta try the north shore shrimp trucks
Aloha 🌺 Kahai Street Kitchen used to be Goody Goody! Kahai has very high end plate lunch! 🥰

Opakapaka is red snapper.
Thats unusual for hawaii (styrofoam) because they are really keen on recycling and being green there.
I could care less about the beaches, I'll go to Hawaii for the food. :)
Kahai Kitchen used to be the Guri Guri Drive in. Do you remember?
Yum
itadakimasu 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
I will be there in two months, where is this locate?
Links can be found in the description. Enjoy!

Ikr....those aisles used to have only a section set aside for international and now its an entire aisle or two and like the U.N.
Please show on a map!
I lived on Kauai for 2 years as a kid and loved Kailua pig. As an adult I went to Hawaii Honolulu, but found the pig too salty now
no more shoyu?
How come Lawrence in not in the videos?
Styrofoam is banned in the uk!!
❤️👌👍😋
That all looks so broke da mouth!
