YES!!!!!! Buy it! In the 50+ years that I’ve been playing acoustic guitar this has to be one of the best! Simply amazing playability and tone.. Martin knocked it out of the park with this one!
This is the kind of Martin I would want if I had the cash. I really like the cutaway, the modern inlays, and it sounds great. I saw they have several types of this model - there are a few that cost quite a bit less between $800-$1200 off the top of my head. I am very curious how those more affordable ones compare to this $2000 model.
The 10e sapele is thin sounding and hollow. Lacks under/overtones.
The next step up is significantly better - the SC 10e koa is impressive
The action on this guitar has the best of any acoustic guitar I’ve played. It’s incredible.
FYI - this is the SC-13E “Special” model, not the standard model.
I played it and LOVED the tone and feel just wish it was made in PA. That was the deal killer for me.
Good review BUT you missed the “Sure Align Neck System”. A revolutionary neck design that allows for precise, easy neck adjustments to improve action and intonation when needed. Resetting guitar with traditional necks sucks and that’s an understatement!
Nice work dude! That’s up there on the price though…for me at least.
Have it and love it!
Why?
@@juana1483 I love it because it sounds great unplugged as well as plugged in. Also, the neck is extremely comfortable to play. Plus it looks great.
Great playing.
It's like someone left a 000 out in the heat and it started melting. Offset seems like it might make it easier to wrap my tiny T-rex arms around. I dig it. Also, the pickup ain't half bad. A little bright and missing the low end but for a live scenario it might just work.
I own this same guitar. After 6 months it already needs a set up. The action is up..and innotiation is so so…..my biggest beef is the pick up sound…it seems boomy bottom…shrill high end. I run it through a fishman mini at home..and lr Baggs venue . I can’t seems to find a sweet spot for projecting the natural sweetness of the guitars unplugged sound..without compromising the highs and feeder back from a few frequencies. When I play a lead…it doesn’t jump out at all…it might be 11 s it recommended ( DONT USE 13 s one this guitar…it hates em). Any suggestions to getting a better tone from the pickup system?
I'm confused. I bought this model and wanted to adjust the action so I contacted martin to get specific instructions on Changing the shims and removing the neck etc. They told me to not touch it and it's set up out of the box and if I need an adjustment to use the truss rod set screw like most other guitars
Is your action a little high at or near the 12th fret? I thought mine was high but when I measured it, it was actually on the low side of the recommended tolerance, which is 2.5 - 2.7 mm.
Weird thing is, when I play an acoustic, I don't really want a neck that is like an electric. Every time I have gone out to buy an acoustic, tried a number of Martins, I have come back home with something else, not based on price & with no regrets.
I don’t know which I hate more the electric guitar trend of pro and ultra when standard and deluxe worked just fine or the nonsense the acoustic guitar industry does with GE 200 and TB e9150 😤🤦♂️🙄
I’m interested in that model but I just want the standard not the fancy bond one or the cheaper “special” one
Not too sure about this Martin, sounds good, but I’m more of a traditional acoustic kinda guy. Would absolutely love that D-28 😊
No, not for me ✌️✌️. I'd rather have the Mesa Boogie sign 😊😊
@sooparticular 👍👏💯
I really like the sound of the SC-13e but it is way overpriced - especially for a guitar made in Mexico.
Martin...Porche
This one...vw
Can’t believe Martin put their name on this terrible Taylor clone🔥
Haters everywhere 😂
Dude seriously get a life if you don’t like Taylor that’s i like Taylor and martin each has its strengths and weaknesses
I recently chose a Taylor over a Gibson. The Gibson J-35 was 4 times as expensive as the Taylor I got but the Taylor sounds *so* much better.
I'm never giving up that guitar.
