It’s a very different world we live in now, different technology and we are all aging with band. They may be a bit less angst filled now from years of hunger to get started. You have to admit now they are aged like whisky or wine and have years of experience to make an album like this. KOEN Witte I’m not saying I disagree ... it may or may not be their best work (matter of opinion). It’s most definitely their best work since Vol 3, if not Iowa.
Alan Greenleaf Japan ALWAYS get bonus tracks/extra songs on their versions since the cost of CDs over there is so much higher than anywhere else. So they try and cram extra content on the Japanese versions to try and get more people to buy them. So if All Out Life had been included on the international version in place of another song, that other song, or maybe a live version of an older song would’ve been put on the Japanese version.
@@michaelnewbill3438 Seriously, my Pain is an amazing song (at least in my opinion). It's one of those songs you have to listen to several times to even comprehend it, but you have to stay opened to it

Not gonna lie. All Out Life was the song that got my attention. Then Unsainted and Solway Firth kept that attention. Then We Are Not Your Kind came out and it made me check out the older albums. As I listened to the older albums I kept thinking "dammit that's another album I need to buy" because I enjoyed them so much. Now I've embraced my inner Slipknot fan and honestly in such a short time they've grown to be one of my favorite bands. Now I want 3 things. OK, Ive enjoyed slipknot music since day one. Ive witnessed the band grow, change and triumph. Now Im aware that to call yourself an artist, on its own, its egotistic already, but "we are not a band anymore, we are a culture. If your not slipknot (culture) you are not our kind¨?... that reflection came across a bit too strong, secular, and some other stronger qualifiers i think im not gonna drop cos Im still trying to figure out how I feel about those comments from ¨the one and only¨, who is, by the way, so full of himself that he could levitate. Self Titled and Iowa were the master pieces...I like the new Knot but acoustic music, hell I love acoustic, should have always stayed away from what used to be one of the heaviest bands of all time.
I think to a lot of people Slipknot are just a band who come out and scream and make noise. The ones that truly understand the music and the men behind the music are the ones who see and hear a vision from a group of guys who genuinely care about their fans. I think more importantly, they stay true to themselves. It would have been very easy for them to fall into the 'radio trap' where the songs are 3-4 minutes with verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-solo-chorus (cough cough Metallica Black Album). There are a few bands who, even if I may not entirely enjoy their music I respect their abilities as artists and musicians.

I wouldn't say they are a waste of time. Interludes sometimes provide a way of ramping up/ down the energy or emotion of an album. That being said, I do feel like they could have cut an interlude or two and put in another track that they cut from the final mix
It depends. Their purpose is usually to section off parts of the record or provide downtime to make certain songs hit that much harder when they do. Sometimes however they can feel like dead air or they might take too long to get to the point. With Slipknot, and this albums case, I definitely think they fit the purpose.
