He’s one of the few in the story so far to be a real grey. Even in the story quests and his character quest, I kept thinking to myself “I have to be him, because he’s a harbinger, and a threat, but really, he’s not a bad person when he’s able to keep himself together” he’s just a normal person who’s life was thrown to the wind after ending up in the abyss. Now he’s just trying to survive and protect those he loves in this cruel world he calls home.

We're all villains and we're all heroes, it's just a matter of perspective. You see this with quite a few anime protagonist actually, always obsessed with peace and doind the "right" thing without hurting anyone. But in reality, it's impossible to always be good, and beleiving you can is just blatantly stupid. I like Childe for this, the game is clearly trying to portray him as the "bad guy" but at the same time, you see a good side of him, showing that a person's actions are not necessarily representative of their nature.

I love the song and the vid is great! I feel bad for childe having to admit himself to be the bad guy despite the challenges he has been through. He has faced way more than the traveler has despite them travelling from world to world. I can tell that childe hasn’t only lost one sibling or person in his life, making him more cautious about being a fatui harbinger to protect the left over of his loved ones. And he isn’t necessarily the “bad guy” in genshin cause now that the Inazuma region has been released, we find out that people there have it quite bad because of the current electro archon also know as the raiden shogun taking away peoples visions so some of us might consider her bad too. The traveler isn’t necessarily good either, mainly because they is sooner or later turn on teyvat and leave their world leaving them with only the memory of them. In this case, childe may also find it hard to let go of them and count it as a loss meaning that he failed to protect them. This is just what I think.. sorry if there were any mistakes anyway….
