This movie is a criminally underrated masterpiece of a film. One of my favorites. It is quite unlike anything else. The style & direction is impeccable & the characters are unforgettable to say the least.
Whenever Joaqiun Phoenix shows up in the movie a Johnny Cash song is playing... and then he ends up playing Johnny a few years later. How cool is that?
...it is 1997...I see U-Turn for the first time...admittedly, I only wanted to watch it because it had J-Lo in it and all of my dude friends and I are HUGE fans (make of that what you will) and because Sean Penn was cool at the time...so I sit down and watch it... ...oh my god... ...I leave the theater with the glowing inner comfort of knowing that I will probably never in my life have a day as bad as this guy did...
1997 i think had the greatest single year of movies!!!! LA Confidential , U-turn , The Edge , One Eight Seven , Starship Troopers, Good Will Hunting , Donnie Brosco , Alien Resurrection , The Negotiatior , Jackie Brown , Fear & Loathing In Las Vegas, Titanic ...... Yeah theres better films made in history but as far as good movies in one single year???? This definitely takes the cake & is the most memorable by far for me as a ten year old kid back then !!!! Never rented so many amazing films in a single year at the video store to this very day!!!!
The best film of Oliver Stone. The best performances by Sean Penn and Jennifer Lopez. Fantastic supporting roles of Nick Nolte, Joaquin Phoenix and Billy Bob Thornton. An underrated masterpiece.
probably the most under rated film ever i ve watched it like 10 times trying to understand why critics hated it i still dont get why . so yes it is one of the greatest fllms in the history of cinema , style , direction , cast , soundtrack , acting , and the story it got everything even a crazy mechanic . i hope some day people will appreciate it. it should be in IMDB among the best 250 films
totally agree, i watched this movie about 20 times, the quotes are hillarious, makes me think what could bobby do differently to survive it :D first time i watchied this movie in a cinema i burst out laughing when it ended :) it was great
cuz u turn makes sense. critics hates it. they likes movies that doesn’t make sense. 🤷🏻♂️ sooo... buy movies that critics hates. cuz it means movie is good. don’t buy movies if critics love it. it mean it sucks.
Great actors, in wacked out roles... high octane nuts! of a movie, leaves you feeling i just watched one of the best movies! Stone is a master narrative story teller with a wicked sense of humor!
I think from like 1994 on, people starting using drugs for/in films. I remember being like 19 and thinking what are these fked up movies like this, The Fifth Element, Jackie Brown, 12 Monkeys, Trainspotting, The Big Lebowski and so on. Most made no sense or were like some trippy MUSIC video as opposed to an actual movie. Like this preview moved so fast it made my eyes go crossed. I know people were being MORE artistic back then, but Heroin was a serious issue in music and movies then imo.
This is a quintessential noir film, and quite possibly Oliver Stone's best. I was blown away by it in the theater. Richard Richardson and he made magic.
Greatest movie nobody knows about. Interestingly I just brought it up in conversation today at a bar Only one person besides me knew of it. Have the DVD. 👍👍
I'd never have guessed the old blind indian was Jon Voight! Another actor in the "you'd never have guessed" category is Robert Duvall in the post-apocalypse "The Road", I never knew he was in that til i saw the credits.
i knew the blind man was Jon Voight the first time i seen this movie 15 years ago, but i did not know that the mechanic was Billy Bob Thorton untill just a couple of years ago, and iv seen the movie 100s of times before without ever known it was him.
dan shady Funny, just saw this movie for the 1st time about an hour ago & those 2 were no guessers. John Voight has a very distinctive accent even when he exaggerates it it's recognizable. Same deal with Billy Bob he just has a familiarity about him no matter the get up. Entertaining yet very awkward movie.
Great film, I watched it on TV again last night! It's full of refreshing offbeat quirkyiness a bit like Inglourious Basterds, and Penn and Nolte are great..:)
I can't single out a single actor how did not deliver world class performance, but I still think Nolte, Boothe, Thornton, Danes, Penn and Phoenix knocked it out of the ball park.
I think this desert noir be the only real genre movie directed by Oliver Stone. It also has a ton of Oscar winners on both sides of the camera - Stone, Ridley, Richardson, Penn, Thornton, Voight, Phoenix.
This is one of the greatest films of all times and yet it failed at the box office but that's normal usually crap triumphs well it's humanity what do you expect.
This is on my top 5 favourite movie. Though many regard it as a kinda B-movie, I still like this kind of road-movie, this has all what I'm looking for in such sort of movies.
This movie is amazing movie. It's telling us very suspenseful, thriller, extremely dangerously, people are very crazy, bully, bad influence, and very extremely hot desert.
I think from like 1994 on, people starting using drugs for/in films. I remember being like 19 and thinking what are these fked up movies like this, The Fifth Element, Jackie Brown, 12 Monkeys, Trainspotting, The Big Lebowski and so on. I know people were being MORE artistic back then, but Heroin was a serious issue in music and movies then imo.
Jenny: You like Patsy Cline? I just love her. I wonder how come she don't put out no more new records. Bobby: Because she's dead. Jenny: Oh... that's sad. Don't that make you sad? Bobby: I've had time to get over it.
An underrated movie. I was afraid this would be something like Natural Born Killers 1994 but I'm glad that it isn't. JLO did some good acting in her earlier movies. We know how good Sean Penn is. Billy, Nick, Joaquin and more were all fantastic. Couldn't tell it was Billy Bob Thorton as mechanic. A must watch. *July 15, 2024*

Alucinante película, me hizo llorar, reir, todo al mismo tiempo. Sean Penn.....IMPRESIONANTE.
This film is underrated, cannot believe one of the may actors is Jennifer Lopez, I thought I recognised the face. I laughed hard quite a few times. It really showed how life can through unexpected obstacles at you out of the blue and also idea of crime never pays may have taken to far at the end, I do believe that Bobby and Grace should have got away and had a nice life in Hawaii or Mexico? Anyhow it did have enough of an effect on me to share my thoughts on here.
This is a very under-rated movie Imho it is one of the very best films of it's type, and always has something intruging to keep the viewer interested and wanting to find out....so now what? Oliver Stone at his dark twisted ingenious best
Criminally underrated movie. That's a gem. Greetings from Italy.

Musiche di morricone

This movie is a criminally underrated masterpiece of a film. One of my favorites. It is quite unlike anything else. The style & direction is impeccable & the characters are unforgettable to say the least.

Haha,same. ❤❤❤
one of my favorites. Billy Bob did a amazing job playing the hick.
Didn't realize it was him until the end
A gritty , gnarly neo western . The acting is amazing . You can feel Sean Penn s frustration and desperation in every scene
Whenever Joaqiun Phoenix shows up in the movie a Johnny Cash song is playing... and then he ends up playing Johnny a few years later. How cool is that?
skunk0677 so ironic
That's so weird but still makes sense😂😂😂
...it is 1997...I see U-Turn for the first time...admittedly, I only wanted to watch it because it had J-Lo in it and all of my dude friends and I are HUGE fans (make of that what you will) and because Sean Penn was cool at the time...so I sit down and watch it...

One of my favorite flicks! So many good quotes from this movie! Also, the best work Jennifer Lopez has ever done.
One of the most underrated films I've ever seen
Movie making at its best. You never know what's going to happen next. Loved it. 10/10

The Negotiator came out in 1998.
Jennifer Lopez in this movie is the hottest iv ever seen her, that even includes her music videos.
I agree Jennifer was extremely sexy in this movie even the way she talked was hot.
Thought the same, the First time i 've saw her in the movie
thats true, you have to love Jennifer Lopez for her acting
Yup i only CAME for her
“Gobble,gobble “
This movie is an absolute gem!! I laughed so much at the crazy quirky characters. Haha!! Love this movie!!👊🤣🤘
Jennifer is gorgeous in this movie and it may be her best role.
Yes
One of my all time favourites. Man on the run, small desert town. Perfect.
@Lavern do you know any movie like this?
It's like a dream. You wanna get out of that dream, but something just keeps you locked in...
Exactly, the whole movie feels like a bad dream.
@@SuperKratosgamer Sean Penn was amazing in this movie
The best film of Oliver Stone. The best performances by Sean Penn and Jennifer Lopez. Fantastic supporting roles of Nick Nolte, Joaquin Phoenix and Billy Bob Thornton. An underrated masterpiece.
And Claire Daine Powers Boothe and let's not forget Angelina Jolie's Dad. Jon Voight

Andy Geller (past announcer of ABC in the 1990s-2010s) narrated this movie trailer. : )
One of the most underrated films of all time. A true masterpiece.
Really good under rated movie from the 90's. I loved this this movie it was loaded with a lot of great actors.
Well, who wouldn't wanna work with/for Oliver Stone?! Especially in the late 90's?!
One of Oliver Stones best film with a great collection of characters.
Bob .Grant also Oliver Stone’s best dark comedy
The best gift from Oliver stone, and wonderful
editing too.!!!
- This movie had 8, yes, 8 superstars in it…and a superstar director.
One of my favorite movies of all time!
This is my favorite movie, EVER ! Sean Penn is a cinematographic genius !

One of the best gems ever ! ❤️🔥
Good movie doesn't get enough credit, not Oliver Stones best but not his worst.
i agree. it did not get enough credit.
I don/t like Ωliver's tone.
The movie was a classic, I was cracking up when he said he had time to get over Patsy Kline
I TOTALLY DID NOT RECOGNIZE BILLY BOB THORNTON!!! WHOA!!! CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!
Great fucking actor
This is a awesome movie.
A true Masterpiece.
Pretty much a parody of a modern-day western...LOVED IT!!! XD
I really felt stuck in that darn town. It was like a "real" nightmare and I wanted to wake up and go home!
Been trying to remember the name of this shit for like 2 years, so glad I stumbled on the trailer
This movie looks crazy as fuck.
Wow, that trailer does spoil waaay too much.
One of my all time favourites, I LOVE it!
U-Turn (1997) Trailer was taken from the VHS 📼 version Donnie Brasco 👨 (1997). ❤️
Perfect movies.it hasn't won any award.

Much props John Ridley and Stone and Phoenix and ALL!
One of the best movies I've ever seen.
One of the craziest movies ever! I freakin’ loved it!❤️👏😊
I got addicted to this movie..
They're all superb here
I don't know there something abt the director;most of his films are. Under rated
I'll never forget this movie trailer, it's edited like a UA-cam poop. Unintentionally hilarious.
Underrated dark comedy. This is an assembly of Something Wild, Affliction and Breakdown with Kurt Russell
this movie really drives you crazy. it sucks in the best meaning of "it sucks". just imagine, bringing your car to a mechanic like this one.
*****lol.
a ford mustang from 1964......that sucks even more

He sure did! It has vibes of a Coen Brothers movie. It’s also like Affliction that meets Something Wild
PURE GENIUS

Great movie. Great cast. From the guy who wrote Scar Face.
Sean Penn, Nick Nolte, Billy Bob Thorton, Jon Voight, Joaquin Phoenix, Jennifer Lopez and Claire Danes, with a cast like that, how could you go wrong?
Jenny: You like Patsy Cline? I just love her. I wonder how come she don't put out no more new records.
Bobby: Because she's dead.
Jenny: Oh... that's sad. Don't that make you sad?
Bobby: I've had time to get over it.
accurately and convincingly shot the film, especially the village mechanic
I love the end...last scene.
An American classic that few people have seen. I think this was made before Stone went completely bonkers.
Crazy film, I love it :D
Such an awesome movie
Great movie.

Claire Danes and Jennifer Lopez in one movie #Amazing
