I have to share this with you! My Mother is ill and we are all dealing with her declining health and the changes that go with that. I have been spending every possible free moment with her and we’ve been reminiscing about so much of her life. I went searching for a journal, a book…something that I could use to record these memories. I just searched TODAY! I even have prayed that God would guide me to honor her the best way I can. And then I pulled up utube, and there you are!! ❤️🙏🏻. Thank you for sharing StoryWorth. Now I know how to cherish my Mother’s words in a beautiful way.

My husband really like all kinds of German food. Stroganoff is such a filling hardy meal. Fixed it with ground beef when my children were living at home. Also goulash and sourbrauten. My Electric skillet was a constant pan in my kitchen. Especially for country fried steak, Fried chicken, etc. I think I went through 3 of them over the last 45 years.

My mom had an even older electric frypan than the one you shared. Growing up in the 70s meant she used that several nights a week. We also had blueberry muffins with dinner. Yummy!

My mother got her electric skillet at the Green Stamp store and used it for just about everything. She never made blueberry muffins without using the mix with the can of blueberries. I make muffins from scratch using the Tightwad Gazette formula, so we can have any flavor and it works out great every time.

I like hearing about you family traditions and what you did when you grew up. It brings back nice memories of the 1980's when I was rasing my babies. My kids used to love a breakfast dinner. I will have to fix your breakfast pizza recipe for my grandchildren. They will love it and they will want to help me make it too. Thanks Mindy. 😊

I’ve been using an electric skillet for more years than I care to admit. Momma used one when we were growing up, and someone bought me one when I first moved out and I use it to this day. I even take it camping. For whatever reason, I always make blueberry muffins when we have tuna noodle casserole , along with a salad and veggie. Funny how one combines certain dishes together and it’s always served together from then on out. Loved your recipes today. Definitely trying the stroganoff , strawberry cake and breakfast pizza . Thank you

Great recipes. My dad raised us. He had a lot of simple recipes to feed 4 kids on a shoestring budget. We had the stroganoff with hamburger. He also made the best sub sandwiches by making a mix of tomatoes, pickles, onions and Italian dressing. YUM! Thanks for sharing your mom's recipe.

My mom absolutely had an electric frying pan. It was gold. There were only certain things she cooked in it too. Like her fried pork chops and the gravy was always made in that electric frying pan. Then I brought home a recipe for peanut butter fudge, that we made in my 3rd grade classroom, and that was also made in the electric frying pan. This is so nostalgic for me. When I saw the picture you posted I laughed out loud, for real. It looked exactly like my mom’s. Thank you for this memory ❤️

What a fun trip down memory lane. Made me think of my own mother and the kind of recipes we ate back in the 1960s and '70s. We called your skillet an electric frying pan. Oh I grew up with one of those skillets in the kitchen! Our favorite smoked sausage dish was browned and cooked with sliced cabbage, onions and bell peppers cooked until tender then adding a can of tomatoes and simmer until the liquid is gone. Another thing we used the electric skillet for was to bake in the summer, especially brownies. You could buy rolls of brownie dough packaged like cookie dough.
I don't know if I still have the recipe but friends used to make a mandarin orange cake similar to your mom's strawberry cake.

My mom served blueberry muffins (as well as others) with dinner at least weekly and still does sometimes when she has all the grandkids. I think it was totally a 70’s/80’s thing. It makes sense - easy, cheap, and filling. I’m the oldest in my family and I remember my mom always saying having another baby is just another potato in the pot or muffin in the tin, lol. My Mom actually still has her electric skillet pan and gifted each of us girls one a few years ago.

Our recipe calls for cream cheese and dejon mustard and of course Worcestershire sauce and also mushrooms. Never heard of putting ketchup in it. Interesting. Everyone seems to make it a little differently. We make frittata a lot and it's great because u can put whatever you want in it. Generally I put peppers, mushrooms, onions, real bacon bits, sometimes some fresh spinach and feta cheese. Occasionally I will cut up leftover baked potato and put in it as well oh and of course the eggs. Deliciousness!

I have had the same problem with getting the biscuit can opening so I hit I on edge of cabinet on the seam and it usually opens right up. Will make the cake for a big mother's day lunch. It has to be cherry in our immediately family, granddaughter allergic to strawberries. But we have made the cherries soon all have adjusted to it just fine. I think at least no complaints. Can't wait to try these meals! What great ideas! I love how you are able to create content that flows so well with whatever the advertisement is you're promoting. I admit, I often skip over that part of the video, but I completely understand why it needs to be done and that this is part of your livelihood and how you're able to give back to your community as much as you do which I think is such a beautiful thing you're doing. I appreciate how your content is still so down to earth, helpful and applicable to everyone, despite advertising as well. Thanks for all you do!

We grew up having strawberry fluff. Very similar to your dessert. Angel food cake, frozen strawberries, strawberry jello and coolwhip. Breakfast pizza is my family's choice for Christmas. So easy and delicious.

I have done the muffin trick of the higher heat and dropping it back down to regular heat and it does work great.

It has worked great for me, too! I’m surprised I didn’t know about the muffin baking hack sooner!

You can also use ham in the breakfast casserole.

My mom used to cook chicken with cream of chicken and cream of mushroom soup in our electric skillet. It was so delicious 😋

The strawberry cake and the breakfast pizza are definitely my favorites that I want to try. My nephew used to request a strawberry cake for his birthday when he was younger. You certainly can’t go wrong with bread and cheese anything, lol! Thanks so much for sharing, Mindy.

My mom has an electric skillet like that from when I grew up that has long since lost its plastic handles and legs. My dad made some wooden legs for it that are screwed into it. You need a pot holder to touch or move it. It isn't pretty but it still works. I made pancakes on it a couple months ago.

We still use my mom's electric skillet from the 80's! Ours is all silver but my grandmother had one that was that awesome 1970s Oliver green. You are great. I really enjoy your videos!

Oh we would have starved to death without my mom's electric skillet! She used that thing almost nightly. I think the only time she didn't use it was when she was cooking our Sunday pot roast dinner which she did on the stove and her Dutch oven as she called it. Our Skillet was the poppy red color or at least the one I remember the most I think since they were Teflon lined my mom went through more than one of them growing up because she always use metal utensils.

So I never saw one of those skillets growing up but my sweet mother in law had one and pulled it for for specific things! I always thought it was so great and still wonder if I should get one!!

I have tried so many of your recipes. I was looking in my freezer and have some stew meat so I will be trying the beef stroganoff with the chow mein noodles. That cooker/fryer my mom had a white one for frying chicken.

I had one of those electric skillets. As a square/rectangle it was great for French toast, pancakes grilled cheese sandwiches etc. So much handier than a round shape.
