Done same.....but I only use the main tap opening (3/4bspt thread) only got one line in that both fills and empties. Also on same port iv got a prv and also a water scavage pipe running to bottom to let out the water build up.
That Propane shutoff valve has such a tiny hole in it that I would be concerned about the actual amount of air flow you could get out of it. Most I have seen modify / drill out the center transfer hole as it's such a small orifice.
Good to see someone using the water trick to displace any vapours. I've seen too many UA-cam vids where they pop the regulator off and think that'll be ok to start welding
You said there wasn’t enough room for a drain at the bottom, why didn’t you just extend the base height to accommodate the drain valve??? Why go through the hassle of disconnecting and having to lay it down and then have to lift it up to drain?
I really enjoy your videos! I just subscribed, so please keep making them! In the US all Propane tanks have a WC (Water Column) stamped on the neck ring that tells you the capacity of the tank. The Ethyl mercaptin (Propane Odor) can't be removed by water. It is oil based, so I would think it would take an oil solvent remover to get rid of it.
Drain should be located on the bottom. You could add a tube that extends to the bottom to drain condensed water, but you wouldn't get it completely dry. So it will eventually rust out.
THIS! Exactly my thought as well. The tank as it is placed upright w/o a drain valve at the bottom will accumulate condensation and slowly start to rust inside. If flipped upside down with the valve and hose connectors just like mounted, condensation would drain out with outgoing air. and there would no be a need for that small drain valve that was welded in place.
How did you get out the product inside of the tank to make the propane smell ?? I have made a compressor tank years ago ......but when i used it , it always had a gas smell.
@@projectmayhemUK I cut up a propane tank for a project a few years ago. No amount of washing made the smell go away, but I was able to burn it out by building a small fire inside what was left of the tank. Tough to do when you're still using it as a tank. Maybe rinsing it out with a bleach solution would do something?
Kinda got worried about you using a propane tank but seeing you purge it and putting a three way valve in looks like a great idea thumbs up.
Any chance of letting us know what fittings you used onto the tap assembly?

A parts list would be great.

good point I could have put longer legs on it..... never mind
nice work

What size fitting goes on top of the propane tank? Is it 1/2 inch
Where did you get the fittings to the valve and pigtail hoses from chap??

Your hoses are long enough to flip that tank upside down to allow for a bottom drain as you wanted, you could make a tripod to hold that tank still

where the drain off or bleder
can you put 170 psi on
lpg tank? what is the maximum psi of that tank?
the tank was rated at 300 psi but I have bone some welding on it, I never fill it higher than 130
Out of interest why did you opt to weld the drain plug rather than tap the hole and seal it with boss white or pfte?
Nope, not practical. Rather buy the proper one.
Where the water draining or is it also a water tank
Very good job.
Can you share the amazon links of the parts used, please ?
Cool work. How much did the plasma cutter cost?
nice idea 😁
Thank you for all the great videos. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Why pay when you can do!
Glad my pc has a volume shut off.
parabens o senhor e muito inteligente ok.
Neat. Sensible. Works a treat. Job done!
What was the psi
What about set up now? Did this compressor works still ?
Yes still working
@@projectmayhemUK did you make any additional mods? That big tank on small pump is always risky.
Harbor freight
thousands of miles away
Faltou explicar o funcionamento da modificações! Muito mal explicando???????
Ronni jemes dio. Black sabbath. If you can’t understand what’s happening, don’t try it. Ask someone else to do it for you.
MrCarlRobinson Muito obrigado!
Ronni jemes dio. Black sabbath. I’m in Portugal, near Coimbra, I could do it if you need 😀
What is the safe working pressure for your reserve tank? Great idea, it’s what I need for my plasma cutter!

I have that problem, I think whatever they add to the gas to make it smell must stick to the tank wall for years

Carl Shafer ll wrote a comment about this problem here on this video.
I see on another vid he poured a load of paint inside to rust proof, then emptied it out. Im sure that would probably get rid of the smell.
Can this increase the CFM output, adding an auxiliary tank? Gaz Sto. Newcastle. UK
