The production quality of the videos just keeps getting better and better. You guys really do have some excellent content, thank you.
The biggest rival is every brand you can actually buy at your AD.
"Thank you for the priviledge of giving you my money." I'll just buy an Omega mate. Ferrari acts exactly the same way.
Well done and kudos to you both. I love the head to head brand comparisons.
What a superb discussion you guys presented! I'm starving for this historical and technical contents. Hope to see more!
Great video. Sure miss market wrap and the trading desk. Great format on those shows. Would love to see a revival. This video is a great format. Thanks!!
Great show! Is Market Wrap coming back? That was my favorite segment!
Great episode! I somewhat can't get over the voice similarities of TM and Adam Ragusea, a cooking youtuber on the platform. The similarities in their voices are staggering in my opinion.
This was your best episode! More like this please!
Thank you very much for this video Tim and for sharing you encyclopaedic knowledge with us. Videos like this are seminal reference points for people getting into the hobby and for people already in it. this must have taken a lot of time and effort to research and make. Its much appreciated.
IMO the biggest stretch is the GMT comparison and in my opinion the gmt in modern day Rolex represents the essence of the brand. It is a very tough watch targeted at the elite business class to utilize as a tool. No one has perfected the gmt like Rolex has.
the brand positioning is very iconic. the Pepsi, the batman. design wise it's basically a submariner.
technically the gmt complication on Rolex is horrendous and super outdated. I don't know how anyone can put up with it.
certainly not elite business class lol
@@ItsMe-ky1km what brand has done it better at the 5-10k price with an iconic design?
Mike! I miss marketwrap. Are you back in Philly? In Connecticut? How are those Giants doing?
Thanks guys great video...this is what true watch collectors want..love new format
Great show as usual gents!
Great discussion! Thanks guys…
Excellent :) Keep it up Tim!!!
Tim, that head of yours. I do believe it was put here on earth, to posses ridiculous amounts of watch-related facts and shared across the world through a digital platform.
And you do prensent it flawlessly, you sir, in my eyes are a god in the global watch community.
Whatever happen to Saturday morning market wrap ???
It's done. This has replaced it
Mike had a hard time waking up early on Saturday mornings. Seriously, after 100 vids Mike wanted to try a new format.
Excellent video, thanks.
These new series are awesome
This power couple is at its best in this series
Quality content. Thank you for this!
I just bougt both the sub date and seamaster 300 on rubber strap. For me two best sport watches so I cant really decide which I like more, Omega dial is more fun and sub a but more elegant.
Fab Vid chaps! keep them coming!
If sushi is the rival of pizza somebody needs to call an ambulance for sushi.
Great Video. If you miss out on Rolex Seriously Omega watch brand is the one Seamaster 42m 300 The new Moonwatch Speedmaster and another great one is the Heuer Monaco Calbrie 11 blue dail 1969 all three models are timeless, Iconic, history.
great stuff. learnt a lot today!
2500 views, more likes people!!!! I like this series and would like it to continue…the likes (and views) will tell WatchBox to continue
Pizza vs Sushi? What? lol More like Pizza vs Tacos.
oldThe delicate engraving of the pocket watch is very good Manual winding automatic Dial meteorite? hahah👏🏻😌
A view from the UK. I'm looking to buy an Omega Seamaster watch or similar so i thought i'd look on youtube for comparisons. Look what i stumbled on.
No, No, No, the 27560 is way more durable than the 15986. No, the 88794 has a larger bezel than the 28653. No, the 44590 goes to 600m the 15478 only goes to..........Who are you guys talking to? (These 2 would be ideal candidates for the TV show "First Dates").
I would worry buying an old quartz movement, eventually they will need repairing and it will either be hard to get them repaired or very expensive
Someone needs to get Tim a production assistant. Get the man a suit and take off the sunglasses!
This channel out-Hodinkee's Hodinkee.
Rolex means=luxury watches for people who are not into watches.
So if you've liked rolex before the hype, now you can't because every douchbag likes them too? That's like not liking a band anymore because they've become mainstream.
Biggest rival is their attitude. Someday it will hurt them
pizza vs sushi?? lol
Tim ok? looks ill
Pizza vs. Sushi is not even a rivalry! Pizza vs. Burgers probably, yeah.
There is Rolex and then everything else.
Umm flashing garage queens. Show old daily wearers on the calibrater. My 50 year old rolex datejust is 3 secs a day fast. Needs a new mainspring and overhaul. Been 20 years
Speedy 125 is still my favorite.
Prestigious, Micro Brands, Popular Brands are all Nemeses Rival’s against Rolex! Even Patek and AP, can’t make the sheer volume or demand as Rolex fathoms today! Rolex especially, the Submariner is a bully proof watch, where as the Patek and AP are to delicate and finicky! All companies try to emulate and copy Rolex, but the King will always remain the King! Always be number 1, in the World!
The future rival of Rolex and a brand which is closing in fast and has the funds to contend is Grand Seiko.. mark it down…. I own both brands and they are there.
@footballcoreano Not an endorsement but just speaking of my experience with both brands of which I own of which include 5 Rolexes and just 1 GS. I was just reiterating my Opinion only from experience with both brands. ..I have an extensive collection mostly Swiss & German. Not everyone is trying to promote...give it a rest….that being said, Rolex is still my favorite but GS is quickly catching up with quality and has the funds to compete in brand development whereas the others do not so much which is why I said they will be a future head to head competitor (maybe 10 or more years from now but in my opinion it will happen)
Pizza vs burgers*
Rolex doesn’t have rivals…
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Err yes they do. And if you think that Rolex are the best watch maker on the planet, you clearly don’t know anything about horology. You are funny though. Delusional, but funny.
maybe, but they def do not take Omega & GS lightly...
pizza vs sushi is not a thing,
Get it together Guys… your list is so predictable. Here are better comparisons and competitor’s to the Rolex and only one is an Omega.
1. Submariner vs Blancpain Fifty Fathoms
2. Dayton vs Heuer Daytona
3. GMT vs VC Overseas
4. Truebeat vs Doxa
5. Milgauss vs Omega Railmaster
6. Texan vs AP Royal Oak
Come-on Man….
The biggest rival of Rolex right now in my opinion is GS
Lol . Loosing 30 percent when you walk out the door ?
Agreed. Once they nail the bracelet and clasp they will be ahead in all areas apart from brand cache/flex value.
I would use the word, "potential rival" in terms of build quality. GS still needs to come out with a better bracelets. The design language is also less appealing to the mass than the more conventional looking Rolex line up. Brand power is something else entirely.
@@junboklee4532 the finishing on GS is vastly superior then Rolex. Not to mention the movements . Rolex has history and brand recognition . But in today age I say they can only beat GS in bracelets and status
@@LacayoDe “Not to mention the movements” lol are you kidding me
METAS Omegas have better accuracy than quartz watches in my experience. Rolexes are made to run fast. Sorry people I buy watch to tell time and not to impress anyone.
Tim you have to spend less time in the gym your looking to bulky . Maybe a salad and less carb or try out for the next Conan film
yawn………
I wonder if Tim owns a pair of slacks or if he knows how goofy he looks with those cheap glasses on his head??? Such a great wisdom from both gentlemen very poorly presented.
Its a show about watches, not a fashion show.
