just started watching the first 10 seconds and I already know this is going to be good. The way you said "Welcome back, Welcome back' is so warming, I love it. So brilliant!!.
This is exactly what I have been looking for! The book is beautiful and I love the no-sew component to it. I just watched your beginning bookmaker vid and had to admit a real sense of intimidation. These almost 67 years young arthritic hands have a difficult time sometimes with fine motor skills. I forsee lots of blood in my future using the needle. But this might just be what the doctor (okay, me) ordered! I've been wanting to make my own watercolor journal because the really good ones are insanely expensive. This way i can spend less on large sheets and cut them to size. Now I will just have to watch this about 40 more times to figure it out... I love your teaching style and your sense of humor, btw! You rock!
Yes, awesome as I suspected. I'm so sorry you've not been feeling well 😞. Even if I was feeling great, I still don't want to watch the news. Whatever will happen, will happen. But I'm just thankful that Jesus Christ is in charge of everything, even if we don't see all the details. You are always in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you young lady. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas
Your misery filtering system is well known to me, ma'am. In fact, it's a very practical if not totally necessary policy. If I was a watercolor painter, I would love to make this beauty. Nonetheless, your videos are always super helpful and enjoyable. Cheers, Ardith
VERY beautiful book. Love the floral paper and its colors. Thank you for sharing, especially speaking about the weights of the chipboard and cardstock and introducing me to the screw posts and magnets. It really helps me.
Very cool design Nik. I haven't seen the closure screws for years. Most old land records were held together in giant books with these closures. Thanks for sharing your process, I really like your book.🌷🌷
My teen son has just developed a penchant for writing poetry so I think this will be a perfect little book for him to carry and jot down his thoughts. Dear Nik, I think it's best you stay "loopless" right now. The world is a bit of a dumpster fire at the moment. It's best to think of good things right now. Hope you're well and thank you for the wonderful tutorial!
I've been binge watching your channel for the last 3 days, since I found it, and I LOOOOVE this one! Defo going to make it before my trip to the beach next week!
@Nik, you are so talented!! I am always impressed by the polished pieces you make. Thanks for sharing your creative ideas with us! Blank music paper is called "manuscript".
I friggin' LOVE this project! 💖! One...it helps with ideas for an heirloom photo album that needs refurbishing. I just have to find the right sized black cardstock, because it's soooo long.😁 And two,...my favorite, btw...this is a quick, simple, yet fanTAstic gift idea! I have several creatives in my family that would love one.💗 Thank you! And, thank you for all the little tidbit tips along the way. Not only your awesome projects but, your tutoring skills are why you are one of my top 3 fave creators. You're my #1 in America tho!🤩 In the whole, dang country. lol! Feel better, my dear.💗 Love and blessings, from California.💜💜💜
My daughter is moving out west and wants to sketch the scenery. This is perfect. I’ll be making her one and sending a sweet care package. Thanks for the tutorial.
Thanks Nik, this is going to be awesome 👍👍👍 and I haven't even watched the video yet. I am always grateful when you make projects like this, you always make it understandable. I pray that you are doing well ❤️🩹. Take care and God bless you and yours. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas
I love rewatching this to improve my folio-making. Thanks again. By the way, here in 🇩🇪 those screws are called "book binder screws" (Buch Inderschrauben) I am now curious why they are called Chicago screws 😂. I appreciate your constant mention of the metric equivalent. It makes everything easier in my head!
That's gorgeous. I made a very basic one with a front, spine, back and flap. Punched holes in the spine and threaded elastic. I folded my papers in half which is held in place with the elastic. The flap can be used as a backboard to the current painting. Papers can be easily slipped out from the elastic.
Very cool! Thanks also for the alternatives available. I think I’d add a pocket or a clip, like the ones on clipboards, to the inside cover for finished(painted) pages. You could glue in a bull clip for the clipboard.
I wish there was a heart button because I love all of your projects! I now have the lokta paper and magnets in my cart. Thank you for sharing such doable crafts, Nik, I appreciate it so much.
I just love this project!! I am going to adapt this for the sweet lady I sit with, she does crossword puzzles and I think she would adore a pretty book to work them in. Thank you so much for sharing!!
Just a thought... I might sandwich a strip of tyvek between 2 pieces of the cardstock used for the hinges, or use self-adhesive cloth book covering to give durability to the hinges. Also, you could make an elastic style belly-band as a closure.
I love how customizable this is according to size or kind of paper. You could make a mini-one or larger. I think the Chicago screws make it look extra-spiffy especially coordinated with that gold paper. It would make a very high-end sort of gift for an artist, with some brushes and water paints. COOL!
Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful creations with such thorough instructions!! I can think of several variations on this concept -- not the least will be a special journal cover an enthusiastic young diarist can refill as needed and a refillable jot list for myself. Hope you're feeling well & have a fabulous Fourth!!!! Take care & be blessed!
this is wonderful for those who enjoy sketching and/or watercolor on the road - another project that i will add to my To Do List lol - thank you for this tutorial - you explain each and every step so precisely with tips and reminders - much appreciated Nik - and yes i agree with not wanting to watch the news when my mind is not in a good place - it just doesn't help - but will there ever be a time when we can watch the news and not get depressed or scared - be well xx
Awesome tutorial as always. I love this watercolor book binding technique. It can be used in other projects as well. Thank you so much. Stay strong and be happy 😘xoxo.
Loving your lap book series....and although is a no-sew, do you have any tutorials that cover sewing with a machine. Do's, Don'ts and tricks & Hints would be great....as in how you created the letter pouches from the From Discarded to Regarded - Let's Make a Lapbook - pt 3 video would be very helpful. Thanks, and keep making great content.
just started watching the first 10 seconds and I already know this is going to be good. The way you said "Welcome back, Welcome back' is so warming, I love it. So brilliant!!.
Every "I'm not your mom" just cracks me up. This is a fun project.

Mean skills, Nik. SMH…amazing!
You always make classy stuff.
Hello helllo!!
Hi Nik!!! Glad to see you!!!
It’s always a good day when you find another Nik video to watch. 🙂🌷
Tracy, you are a paper wizzard!!! What a great sketchbook, I love it.
Hope your feeling better 🙏 praying for you .
It’s beautiful, very sleek profile, like that it doesn’t have protruding attachments that tend to catch on all the other stuff that gets packed.
Always a pleasure 🥰
Super cute. Thanks for sharing....

Miss hearing a true crime story. LOL Love your attention to detail. Always fun watching you make/assemble things. This is a great project.
Fabulous gift idea. I love your projects! I want to be you when I grow up. 😊
I found that kind of magnet at Daiso too. (My favorite shop for junk journaling and bookbinding supplies)
Thanks for all your wonderful instructions. Everything you make is top quality and beautiful.
That was a delight to watch. Lovely product too. I use posts to manage my sheets of canvas for oil painting. No fancy cover though.
My teen son has just developed a penchant for writing poetry so I think this will be a perfect little book for him to carry and jot down his thoughts.

So glad you did this in July. Christmas is far enough away. This is great.
Such a great idea as it's nice to actually have a secure place to hold the blank pages.
"i don't care; i'm not your mum."
😆😂🤣
