  • I show the inner workings of a very high quality system 3r zero point system made in Switzerland.

    - The screw on the sides are just for closing the holes that were needed to drill the holes for the balls since it’s one peace
    - The “through coolant“ is actually used for removing chips from the center bore and the mating surfaces before each clamping process by suppling an air burst
    - The body is mainly turned with some milling features; it could also be that the inner precise surface is hard turned since grinding is difficult in this space and the surface looks like it
    - The one surface in the clamping bracket is grounded to allow a better fit (one precise part + one less precise is better than two less precise ones..) and for less sliding friction. And again it’s not easy to ground the inner part..cost cutting..

    I thing the hole on the outside of fixture (those with short thread) are so they can make inside hole for the balls.

    you wouldn't happen to have a zero point clamping system that you can disassemble that uses a pullstud screwed into the workpart?

      The Lang pullstuds can be mounted on a workpiece. I got a video on the system.
