“Sentenced to 7 years in Australia” is one of the greatest things I've heard
Can't wait till hundreds of years from now for a Bubba Tea doc

Thank you so much! Im pretty new so hopefully it picks up more in the future.😅
When I was growing up in a small town in Pennsylvania, bell peppers were known as "mangoes" -- as in "mangoes on sale today, 2 for 50¢." I looked it up recently, and learned that the early settlers of the town had never seen any exotic tropical fruits at all, so many of them were lumped together under "mangoes." Pineapples were pineapples, although the word was sometimes pronounced "pinesapples."
I have just decided to watch all your videos!
Pineapple definitely belongs on pizza!
New subscriber :) i love me some history, especially when it comes to my favorite fruit!
When reading Laura Ingalls Wilder as a little girl, they were fascinated to open up a tin can of peaches and each saver the delicious taste of 1/2 peach in syrup. There was a whole episode just about that in her books. Another time they talked extensively about oranges. I always thought that was a little weird as a kid. Now I understand, exotic fruits were a rare delicacy, and a privilege.!!
Wow, this is all very interesting
Thank you!
Being a native Virginian, I now understand why pineapples were so often depicted or stylised in Colonial decorating...it was a status symbol amongst the wealthy gentry. 🍍
Native Americans created every type of food that brought life to the culinary world. Pineapples, Peanuts, Corn, Potatoes, Chocolate, Vanilla, Avocados, the list goes on and on. In return, they received the worst genocide on record that is still actively denied. Tsktsk
I’m watching this while eating moonshine pineapples lmao. Oh how things have changed. Once a fruit of virtue and now something soaking in alcohol 😅
There’s no shame in that. Do you think the Peruvians didn’t ferment the original pineapples into alcohol? They had to have. In fact, they probably had the closest thing to a hairy Buffalo that we enjoy today 😂
Bet the 17th century would be so jealous. Image how long your pineapple will be eatable.
Is this why whole candied pineapple exists? Preserve it so it could be displayed for much longer stretches?
Honestly, I'm not sure. I didn't see anything about that in my research.
You can easily get pineapple in a can 😊 or pineapple tarts or pineapple juice 😊
When I visited Malasia I saw pinaples in the porch , entrance of houses and restaurants , and used as a decoration. Asked locals and they where confused as in "it's for new year decoration of course". Pinaple would "bring fortune and luck" to those who display it. So this is not just and european thing from the past (maybe?).
🍍🍍🍍
It’s always cool until the yokels can do it 😂
Eastern German only discovered pineapple after the German unification which was only a few decades ago.
Just wait until the Europeans find out bananas are a thing.
