    As a Vettel fan, i have nothing but respect for Bottas. He didn't jump start, his reaction time was 0.209 while Vettel's was 0.309 if i remember correctly. He didn't do anything spectacular but he made no mistakes. Good for him, as Vettel leads championship by 20 points.

    • @grimm6jack
      @grimm6jack 3 роки тому +57

      ???? No... The Bottas reaction time was 0.001... It was stated later on the post-race press conference where the journalist stated it and Vettel jokingly didn't believe it.
      Yes... Bottas start was THAT ridiculous. He TRIED to jump start and just got SUPER LUCKY with it.

    • @therealgojjam
      @therealgojjam 3 роки тому +22

      @@grimm6jack Wrong actually, Bottas had a reaction time of 0.201, which was more or less what OP said. There is also no recorded proof of him having a 0.001 reaction time, not even in any race, but in Japan he did have a 0.04s reaction time if you were getting confused with that. I really think you should fact check before commenting these things mate.

    • @yar2000
      @yar2000 3 роки тому +15

      @@therealgojjam You are the one who should do the fact checking. If you analyze his start from his onboard camera on a frame-by-frame basis, you can see that the car starts pointing up (meaning the weight is shifting to the back of the car, caused by accelerating - aka his initial launch on the start) BEFORE the lights even go out. However, he only moved out of his grid slot AFTER the lights were out, meaning his start was legal.
      I have no idea what you're talking about with your "0.201" seconds because its simply false. This start was more perfect than perfect because he started letting go of the clutch BEFORE the lights were even out. So, next time you say people should fact check, you should ensure that you are right yourself. In this case you are simply wrong.

      Couldn't agree with you more.. Daniel Ricciardo has had many races where he has been phenomenal, but never seems to get the praise he rightly deserves. So what if the guy jokes a lot and always has a smile on his face. When he is on track he's one of the best on the grid... in a car that is considerably down on power compared to the Mercedes and Ferrari..

    • @zoegray123
      @zoegray123 6 років тому +11

      As a major supporter of his, I know the feeling of always being under appreciated. All people do is compare him to Max, when he deserves credit in his own right. Yeah, some drives of his haven’t been the best of his ability, but he’s one fine racer, and deserves a lot more than he gets. He isn’t just max verstappen’s teammate, he’s Daniel Joseph Ricciardo, 5x race winner, 27x podium finisher, 129x race starter, 1x pole sitter, f1 talent, future world champion. Yet everyone will fail to recognise him, because he isn’t Max Verstappen. Shame really :(

    • @zoegray123
      @zoegray123 6 років тому +9

      He put up a hell of a fight there, deserved a lot more credit. Only a true talent would be able to pull that one off, holding off a far superior car with solid defence. Mind you, that’s one of the Danny Ric trademarks, alongside gutsy overtaking and exuberant celebrations.

    I loved seeing Max's reaction at the steering wheel when he got pushed at the first corner, if I'm not mistaken having to use the clutches to keep the car from stalling. Completely in focus even after being hopelessly taken out.

    2. Hamilton fans calling vettel a crybaby.

    4. A joke about Alonsos DNF.
    5. A joke about Max's bad luck.

    7. A joke about what a bad driver stroll is when he has already scored 18 points with a podium.

    9. A genuine fan congratulating the winner.
    10. Someone saying how both vettel and Hamilton are great drivers and they should be respected equally but since the fan base is retarded and saltier than the dead sea, they get ignored.

    It's a real shame how so many tifosi are wrongly trying to accuse Bottas of a jump start. This sports needs to reward perfection, not punish it

    • @Atticvs32
      @Atticvs32 7 років тому +85

      Technically, it was a jump start. The only reason it hasn't triggered in the system is the system allowance, even the FIA admitted that. Otherwise he clearly moved before lights out which is only possible if he was trigger happy on the pedals. He simply got lucky that the lights went out in less-than-the-allowance-time after he released the clutch - but make no mistake, accounting for actual human reaction times (not the 0.201s that was registered in the allowance-adjusted system), his brain must have sent the command before lights out.

    • @Heksu99

    • @Astfgl
      @Astfgl 7 років тому +15

      It was not a jump start. He started moving exactly at the moment when the lights went out. I think he might have actually released the clutch too early and would have made a jump start, if he hadn't been so lucky that the lights went out at that exact moment.

    Well i don't know, but for me a jumpstart is, when the car moves before the lights are off. The point is everyone is talking about his reaction time but he more got a good guessing time because the time between the last red light and all lights turning off is random and on the onboard you clearly see that his car moves before the lights turned off and you also see his revs going down. The point is, the FIA said he jumpstarted by 3ms and a max. of 10ms is okay but on the onboard video, he starts 4 frames before the lights turning off and thats (with 50fps) about 80ms but he still managed to get a "reactiontime" of 0,201sec. and Vettel, who took off about 220ms later (timescode) had a reaction time of ~350ms. At the end the FIA looks in the computer and the computer said "no jumpstart" and thats what counted, because thats the rule. He drove a good race and deserved the victory and nobody knows how the result would look like, with a 200ms later start of him.

      Dylan Baas, in other racing series this is considered a jump start. But due to the way the F1 stewards determine jump starts and the tolerance levels by the F1 stewards it is not a jump start in F1.

    "The FIA has explained, however, that some movement before the lights go out is allowed because of the need occasionally for drivers to make adjustments to their clutch in those crucial moments before the start."
    So that tiny tiny tiny move for Bottas before lights went off was because he make adjustments to his clutch, but he didn't push the gas before lights went off! So NO jump start. And his reaction time AFTER the lights went off was 0.201 and if he would jump started the reaction time would have been like 0.000. And not only that but Vettel reaction time was over 0.400, so Bottas reaction time was over 0.200 quicker and in the F1 margins that is a lot.
    I think Bottas little bit guessed the start, but he still didn't jump the start. If he would then FIA would have noticed that surely later or sooner...
