Just celebrated my 80th birthday and I've been listening to popular music since I was three. This is one of the most unique and perfect songs ever written.
Jason is tremendous and Rebecca shines.Just a perfect duet and the soft shoe?Well that was the icing on the sugar cake. When I listen to this and watch them dance my heart sings.
I grew up with my Grandmother playing the original soundtrack to NO NO NANNETTE and the original version brings back so many wonderful memories. My Grandmother introduced me to music, theater, museums she was truly like my own AUNTIE MAME!!!
Actually, I've never smoked a cigarette in my life. Just over excited! However, I'm very proud of this and it was an incredible experience being Rebecca Luker's BF for 5 minutes!
Mr. Graae, you have every right to be proud of your performance, certainly if it had been me I know I would. It is also obvious that you've had voice training and that unfortunately as a performer you must suffer the slings and arrows of the arm chair expert.
Marvelous rendition and performance; Jason Graae's tenorship is extraordinarily flawless in this beautiful rendition. Of course Rebecca Luker's act is phenomenal too. Thank you for this great gift from you two, Jason Graae and Rebecca Luker.
This came up today on a post on FB. I love it because it is the day after her husband, Danny Burstein, just won a Tony award. RIP and your beautiful voice Becca. In memoriam.
We’re learning the soft shoes for this dance in my musical theatre class, and I’m so glad I found this song! It’s great to hear the classics of this time! The singing is phenomenal!
I played Nanette back in 1993. The director and choreographer kept telling me, "Simple and sincere Catherine!" They were right. I definitely like this rendition.
Wonderful! My Mum used to sing to me all these No No Nanette songs when I was a young girl, she was in a 1948 production in London and I was trying to find one that sounded like the one my Mum sang to me and this one is it ☺️
An absolutely charming duet! Jason Graae and Rebecca Luker are wonderful together in this 1990 Boston Pops rendition of a 1925 classic. My heart leaps with joy and sings with every viewing! Thank you Jason and Rebecca.
At the end of this performance in 1990 on PBS Great Performances what is missing is the cherubic face of John McGlinn looking as if he had just seen God. Indeed, the camera shots that followed of the audience rising in unison, were a tribute to the perfection of this performance.
I checked the comments and did not see anyone note that there is a CD with these performers. It's called Broadway Showstoppers. It's on Angel records. Included is "Who", "All the Things You Are" and a bunch of other numbers. Such a pity John McGlinn died so young.
This is so nice to hear somebody sing nice and clearly with the beginning bits as well. I like this very much I think it is simpal without pushing themselves too much
that I watch this in 2016 coming to it so often for a fix imo speaks volumes. Mr .Graae is a talented vocalist amazingly deft on his feet and an amusing partner to the equally entertaining Rebecca Luker. When I need a respite from the cold world, I find it here. Thank you xxoo
The interaction between Jason and Rebecca during this performance adds that sparkle that makes watching this video and listening to the music so enjoyable. I think I would be gasping for air, Jason, if I had to perform with such a charismatic female singer as Rebecca and not just with that tiny bit of excitement that you so aptly expressed. Well done! And thank you May for posting.
IN another epoch she would have been the top draw in any musical. She is a world class star! She radiates joy and beauty and more joy. And she never breathalizes melissmatically!
I hate to admit this, but this version of Tea for Two is much better than the version sung by my hero Doris Day. Was this done on PBS? If so,what was the name of this show on PBS?
my GOD that is so cool, super nice! im 24 years old but that is one the best i ever saw. Those people who cklick they didn't like it, i think they are not humans maybe?
It really bothers me that Rebecca Luker is dead. I met her at Studio 54 on a Saturday night 2019 or 2018 as she performed with a former female teacher.. I walked up to her and told her the best duet I ever heard was the one she did for PBS with Jason Grae. She was very moved and hugged me I walked away and said nothing else because I did not want to interfere since her teacher was on stage doing a solo. To watch here do her rendition on UA-cam of "All I ask for" with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir always brings me to tears. It's very difficult to understand, but I knew a long time ago God works in mysterious way. I miss Rebecca Luker.
This was performed at Symphony Hall in Boston on August 23, 1990, and it is unofficially known as Boston Pops - Broadway Originals. This was televised by PBS, and so there are no authorized DVDs available. The guest conductor was John McGlinn, and the event was hosted by Kitty Carlisle. Why on earth didn't Rebecca Luker take up dancing?
thank you Dimitri. I watch this performance regularly. When I need a bit of charm, whimsy and polish. Graae and Luker never let me down . Just as superb in 2016.
Such a good old song. I always associate the tune with Django Reinhardt's guitar version, but to hear the song proper is good. This recording is on an album called Broadway Showstoppers and it has the original theatre poster from the play (i.e. musical) it came from on the front cover. The play was called 'No, No, Nanette' (1925).
Great arrangement by John McGlinn who spent much of his life seeking out the original arrangements of Broadway music. His masterpiece was the recreation of Showboat in its original format that was recorded 1988. For those interested, the complete performance of the concert in which this McGlinn version of “Tea for Two” appeared is on the UA-cam video, “Evening at Pops, Broadway Originals.”
Thank you, you answered my question. Here is the link. Comments say this was recorded August 23, 1990 in Symphony Hall, the Boston Pops Orchestra conducted by guest conductor John McGlinn himself. ua-cam.com/video/oS-dKMYU8R8/v-deo.html

🎉it’s so light and quite captivating
Great music never dies.
Four minutes and forty-seven seconds of understated perfection. So nice to see this classic song come to life.
What a class act. What talent. Thank you. ❤️❤️❤️

he sucks! he's no where NEAR Ms Luker's quality of singing!
Well kerryincolumbus, and you know this because?
sure she carries him, but he"'s not so bad imo
My mother and father taught me this song when I was a little girl. What a beautiful song.
Hello Susan
How are you doing today?
A wonderful reminder of kinder, gentler times from two class acts.
The beauty of this makes me cry every time..This is the best of the best. I *so wish I could sing like him...
And it SO romantic which slays me... The singing while dancing! Is off the chain lol...Thats entertainment! Thats Talent.. Thats ART...
This came up today on a post on FB. I love it because it is the day after her husband, Danny Burstein, just won a Tony award. RIP and your beautiful voice Becca. In memoriam.
Hello Amy
How are you doing today?
I've search far and wide for the "right" version of this song.
I think I've found it!

What a delightful video. Two very talented vocalists, singing a classical song. 🥰👍
Jason, this is absolutely delightful, lovely, superb!

Jason Graa and Rebecca Luker... both utterly charming and fabulous.

You just keep that stuff up folks!!! entertainment to the max... feel sorry for the young folks who have no clue!!!!!!!!!
La Grande Vadrouille brought me here.
And I’m glad it did, what two wonderful singers 😊.

Thank you for this wonder song, Jason you have a great Broadway Tenor. I has to order the CD. I grew up on this great music..
by far the best interpretation imo. and the soft shoe ...loving this still in sept 2017, whenever the world presses down on me.xxoo
What a jolly good performance all round. Great vocals and a well directed orchestra. This is a show tune and they're playing the circle.
that I watch this in 2016 coming to it so often for a fix imo speaks volumes. Mr .Graae is a talented vocalist amazingly deft on his feet and an amusing partner to the equally entertaining Rebecca Luker. When I need a respite from the cold world, I find it here. Thank you xxoo

Fabulous! Truly enjoyed seeing this again!
i love this version.. YEAH!
RIP Rebecca Luker. April 17, 1961-December 23. 2020.
Fantastic performance, lovely orchestration and a very catchy melody indeed!
Original orchestration, yes, and the vocal style recalls earlier decades as well. Excellent overall.
magical and perfectly flawless, the polish is brilliant.
What a sweet little song!
Had no idea of the entire song, or the fact that it was from 1925.
This is wonderful!
this is beautiful !!!!!!!!!! Love from Mexico
I just stumbled upon this .. wow .. some great performance
Great to hear the second verse. I never realized it existed.
During the early years of The Great American Songbook '1925, this song is a 24/7 global kick in every sense of the expression......
This song is so sweetly romantic it makes me nostalgic for a life I have never known 🥲
Thank you. Your performance is so nice and brings me à lot of pleisure.
Rest In Peace Rebecca!!❤️❤️
Merci monsieur duslster de m'avoir fait découvrir cette musique mdr il se souvient surment plus de moi sa fait 6 ans.
Great song, great performers. Many thanks for uploading - will now search for the CD.
Para mim é uma surpresa ouvir esta adorável e celebre canção de 1925. Gosto !! Mas, DORIS DAY é sempre a Doris Day, e ela está no meu coração !!!
Это просто прекрасное произведение. Что, удивлены? Да, русские тоже это любят и слушают. Лично я узнал из фильма "Большая прогулка" Франция.
I recently found this marvellous version! Simplicity, heart, légèreté, bonne humeur, efficience... A real and exceptional pleasure! Thank you so much!
Excelente!!!!!:-)
my GOD that is so cool, super nice! im 24 years old but that is one the best i ever saw. Those people who cklick they didn't like it, i think they are not humans maybe?
Mr. Baez ,they are sadly ,very human beings. It takes a full measure of the divine to appreciate this performance. xxoo

My father's favorite in his late teens of late 30's then on 78rpm in all homes.

Mi tema favorito tea for two
BONSOIR A TOUS CA C' ETAIT BON VIVRE A CETTE EPOQUE LES ANNEES FOLLES .... MERCI A VOUS
There is also a version of the song " tea for two " to laugh in a movie with Louis De Funès and Bourvil.I shall share it with my friends of GOOGLE+
La Grande Vadrouille, One of few French films China imported in the early 80s that almost everyone watched. The Turkish Bath scene was memorable.

REBECCA LUKER (1961 - 2020)
Wanderful song, great times of the Cinema, no guns, no violence-
Doris and Gordy did this beautifully in the early 1950s
Прекрасный полет эмоций
it's definitively heavenly song
besides being eternal
@@RobiBue Danke
