As someone who was raised Muslim, I was not allowed to eat pork. But when I left Islam when I was 15 I binged on it (char siew, fu cheok etc). It was (and still is) like heaven
Kinda similarly to bart. My parents wouldnt let us eat our school snacks at home. We still bought it and take it to school. But we just couldnt eat it at home.
As a filipino SDA, some of us rebels ate secret pepperoni pizza and shrimp lol. But Stripples, big franks, haystack, wham. Fried gluten! 😋 Fortunate that my family still ate beef, fish, as well as veggie meats and vegetarian foods. And weren't super strict with Worthington foods., Loma Linda, morning star was my childhood along side Oscar Mayer and Hostess
I agree with Steve's parents on the soda thing, they probably didn't want their kids to have messed up teeth, too much soda can mess your teeth up. especially coca cola
I grew up eating package ramen mostly and my family's ethnicity foods. Didn't know about Western food until adulthood..unless you can call boot camp food Western food.Mashed potatoes was my favorite.Other foods came decades later. Once I think about it my food that I cook and workouts I do probably a whole different class.
13:10 growing up sodas/carbonated drinks were a NO NO .. now i just dont like sodas at all and dont drink them at all even if they visually look yummy sometimes 🤣 nowadays my parents dont care anymore though but i still dont care to drink sodas and dont want them 😭 and ive tried few sips but its too tingly for my throat i hate the sensation 😅
My mom wouldn’t let me eat “American” food. By that I mean lunchables and stuff like that. She cooked everyday and I would take leftovers to school. And now I do the same with my kids 😂😂😂
They aren’t really aphrodisiac- more so like they can cause a reaction from other people ie anger from your onion or garlic breath so that’s why it’s not allowed
I am a child of the '70's and '80's so there were less restrictions back then. It was a time of candy cigarettes and pixie sticks. When the Kool-Aid man was a regular figure on the tv commercials. You could eat cookie dough out of the Tollhouse package without someone saying that you might get food poisoning. And when we would go to a baseball game our parents would get us Mexican Sundaes in those mini plastic baseball helmets.
Thanks to my maternal aunt i had tons of microwave dinners, cereal, Kellogg's special k and lunchables in the house even capri sun and sun chips. 90s latchkey kid.
Bart's mom probably worships guanyin the goddess of compassion. Most of us who practice this belief don't consume beef in her presence, some as far as being a vegetarian like Bart's mom
How Bart talks about his mom cracks me up. 🤣😂 I wonder if she knows LMAO
Any time BART talks about his parents.... I'm all ears 🤣
Joe: like veggie ham?
Ryan: Ham, like pig...
Subin in a husky whisper: [pig ham]
Bart doing that impression of an American dufus was fucking hilarious.
We weren't allowed to drink sodas either till a certain age. I guess after a certain age our health was less important... lol

Muslims are missing out on some really delicious food
@@ShogunThomsenwe don’t feel like we are missing out - we can eat a lot of food so don’t worry yourself too much

if your korean house doesn’t have cold barley tea, is it really a korean house???
For a while when we were kids, we weren't really allowed to have junk foods in the house because our mom made us eat healthy (she's a nurse).
If anyone is concerned, I’m happy to let everyone know that Hostess doesn’t cook their products in lard. But they are cooked in tallow (beef fat).
Those Hostess pudding pies man. Hell, even the fruit pies were addicting. Today, they all taste like crap.
