Dear Rebecca, you are looking wonderfully relaxed in your garden. I recognise some of the thoughts and moods you describe. I have tended to work, almost continuously, on major long term projects for about the last 30 years, but I have been 'working from home' since my last project ended 5 months ago. Full on effort to next to nothing overnight. Sometimes it's difficult to stay or get motivated.
A couple of thoughts for you. 1, get a cosy for your teapot, it'll keep your tea warm for longer. 2, don't bother to rake up the leaves, just run over them with the mower to collect or mulch them. Sending you love and support.

Happy New Year, Rebecca! We all suffer a bit of the doldrums now and then. The holidays can be a bad time for them, with the joys of family and friends around or the mundane of the holidays when there is no one, not even relatives to share the holidays with.

I'm the same with nature. I just need it sometimes...quite often, actually. Sitting barefoot in the grass for a few minutes can work wonders 🍻
Rebecca, what a fun and lovable person you are! I catch myself laughing when after 10 minutes you talk about "the end of the video" and I see you still have a good 20 minutes of chat left before you round off. I really recognize myself in you, who stick to the topic and what you are trying to say as well as a puppy in a breakfast buffet. And I recognize what you say about depression and anxiety and how all-consuming it can be at times and that you have to act in the small windows of time where you actually manage to do something, "strike while the iron is hot" or whatever they say . And even though this comment comes long after you've posted the video and even though you may not read this comment, I hope you have a good year and do better with your mental health than last year. A big virtual hug from me!

Breaks my heart to know that you're a little "blue"💔 I know a little bit about it and it's so very hard to climb out of the dark sometimes. Yes. We all know you have to keep moving. Yes. we all know you need to keep breathing. It's easy to think it. It's easy to say it.
It's true that NOTHING seems to help sometimes. And it's true that there are better days to come. But you have to find your own way out.
Yes. It's easy to say "Take care of your health." But when you don't feel like getting out of bed, it's even harder to brush your teeth or hair, get dressed and face the day with a smile.
But all those things are only pieces of "recovery".
Praying you find that missing piece that restores your sense of self.
I live in Colorado. But I think you're amazing. Inside and out. Especially, out. And truly wish you happiness and love. Love of yourself and love of someone that believes in you.

Being creative as you are I'd be surprised if you didn't suffer from depression. There are ups and downs we all go through for some the ups are higher and the downs lower. This time of year is not good for depression either but you seem to be aware of the vitamins we lose out on at this time of year that can make people depressed. Also just sitting in the garden and getting a bit of what sun there is can help as can listening to nature. All the best for 2024. 😀
Suffering and working on it, it will make you better. It will heal parts of you that needed the refurb. We are all just wondering souls during this brief time on earth. Take good care of yourself Rebecca.

Sometimes being depressed is exactly where the universe wants you dear. I’m 53 and finally getting some perspective on what we’re supposed to do here on this little blue marble. We don’t do well in isolation…..We don’t do well in stasis……and, We don’t do well without goals. If we focus on the things we DO have power over….. and learn to let go of the things that we DON’T…..at least in my experience….you’ll manage quite often to pull yourself out of those tailspins.
You have a delightful mind sweetie and are quite courageous, if I might be so bold. Remember that no one is perfect, ….. we’re all perfectly imperfect and ….for lack of a better word, “divinely” constructed. You’re exactly how nature intended. For all your gifts, as well as your faults.
Intelligent and gifted people are often plagued with conversely difficult roadblocks either in temperament, direction, or stability.
Take heart …..many of us are similarly together on the same journey alone……together.
Been watching your videos for years and I value your spirit :)

@@saddleupvickysue1412 You truly aren’t alone. Lots of us…. LOTS of us….are on the same journey. I try to remember that it’s a marathon, not a sprint. I’m learning that small victories, yield eventual wins. I’ve begun to focus less on the big picture ….and more on the daily skirmishes. Those, I have power over. That kinda garbage…..I can react and take head-on, if I choose to. It makes you feel powerful….and in fact makes you ACTually powerful, when you become adept at framing and sizing up the problems you’re prepped for.
As you become better at that, you prepare yourself for the next….. slightly bigger….roadblock of bs.
And on and on.
You are the best at accents.
I fully recognise what you say, Rebecca! Hands over a bag of asorted vitamin Hug - take one whenever the need arises, can't be overdosed.

EDIT: Supplemental cholecalciferol is not a vitamin (D3) but a pre-hormone that if artificially added acts not unlike prednisone (anti-inflammatory). Get it from the sun or a good quality UVB light source with the proper wavelengths. /health rant ;)

I'm very good though at presenting a public face. I follow you on Twitter (under a very silly name as I keep getting banned) and I don't think anyone would ever guess from reading my Twitter feed how i sometimes feel. Trying to be funny/amusing whilst you feel like you're dting inside. I see your public face is very good too and I recognise it. Best wishes and continue with the self care-even if that means other people and other things just have to take a back seat for a bit.

In 2010 my dad died. My ex wife left me. Felt miserable. Worthless. Would have ended it all if it weren't for my kids. Fast forward to now. Living in the US. Have a fantastic wife. Kids now living here and doing well. Never felt happier. Good luck to you x

But also, during times of feeling good, enjoy it, but just take a moment to think, this won't last! It's part of life. It would be boring if we were gormlessly happy all of the time!
Tis nice to see rva outside of her studio. Would be nicer to see you singing in your bikini on a beach or on a boat whilst enjoying life. Your a great singer but your also an interesting human.
