I'd be so ready to pull the trigger if, and I hate to say it, there was a software version for iPadOS. I don't have an 'actual' computer in my life at this point. The tech is brilliant. I appreciate all the hard work put into this and previous and future iterations.
Pretty cool gear. It seems to do pretty well on surfaces with some beveling. What about primitive objects like cones or spheres? Or heck, what if you modeled and UV'd your own object and 3D printed it? Could you utilize multiple cameras to have a full wrap-around? And what about the seams? Would it configure effects without having to resort to mirroring/feathering the edges? It looks like you have some built-in effects but what if I wanted to make my own inside of a compositing software AE or Davinci? Does it factor in the distortion? Apologies for all the questions. I'd like to learn more about the software and the techniques that go into this but everything seems pretty limited to flat surfaces.

Love the concept here. But even a non-tariff price of $800 CDN for the LFC ($1000 for the LF2) is too high. Seems like Lightform is targeting a commercial clientele only. Too bad, as this could be a huge hit with the general public if your software was simpler and pricing was around $500-750 CDN. It is a unique product with tons of potential.
Lightform is designed to be an all-in-one solution for projection mapping and doesn't support streaming from other applications into Lightform Creator. However, you can export the scan data from the Lightform device to use in after effects and we have a feature on our roadmap that will allow you to use faster video streaming (NDI) to stream content directly to the device. This would allow users to cast content to the device via programs that allow NDI output like Adobe After Effects, Unity, or Touch Designer.
I know I'm a little late to the game here but does this work in a way I can scan a surface, map a video to it and then leave the projector with perhaps a looping video file on a flash drive or something or does the lightform device need to be connected at all times for this to work?
You can scan the surface and leave both the Lightform and projector with the effects looping at the scene. The LFC Kit needs to be able to see the scene and remain connected over HDMI to the projector. Ultimately, content plays off of the Lightform device and the camera can be useful for realignment or taking another scan if something moves in the scene. The LF2 is an all-in-one solution with an integrated projector.

Amazing product and I'm very interested to buy one for use this Halloween (if it would arrive in time) but the +tarrif for USA pricing is a political statement and should be removed. I don't see a +VAT or -VAT or VAT Not Included for the EU/UK price. The price is what it is, if the tariff goes away reduce the price accordingly.
i didn't buy the LF2 because of the "+tarrif" nonsense you felt the need to tack on and label for US customers. a ridiculous thing to show for consumers who can't do a thing about it or the whims of politicians.
You did not make a purchase because of their transparent/honest pricing logic per region? Do you know anything of what it takes to mass produce a electronic device for retail in multiple regions?? LMAO. Go eat a fat stack of covfefe and Trump steak.

If your kit is just a 4K camera and a computer module can't your software just run on any smartphone with a 4k camera?

The mapping is always distorted at low light environment, and the software is very not user friendly l.
Make sure to light your scene during scanning then? :) That's how we are handling it and the software is lite janky, but get's the job done!
