I have always been fascinated with glass working all my life (I am in my late 60's) but I thought I had gone to heaven as I watched the craftsmen of a workshop on Murano at their trade. I watched in awe as I saw one of these horses created.
Italy has a unique charm, doesn’t it? The art of Murano glassmaking is one of its most special wonders. We hope to bring a bit of that magic to you through our videos!
Thoughts passing through as I watch this: ...my goodness the talent, the teamwork, the trust... ...you definitely couldn't stop for a cuppa in the middle of making a glass object... ...boy, this is the place to work in the middle of a cold winter... ...imagine if you accidentally dropped it...especially if it was completed... I hope they're all paid well for what they do...
Hi and thanks for your great comment! In our factory we have several workers that are still here since 1993. We really appreciate their royalty and mastery.
Franco Toffolo, who was the head glassblower at Caithness glass at the time, made a similar prancing horse for me (Ferrari) and a charging bull (Lamborghini).
I know this is a very strange request, but could you please consider making a Tardigrade? Every Tardigrade UA-cam video does very well. High interest in them. I think people will watch it A LOT! ❤❤❤
Many manufacturers use marking tools for glass blowing. Here's an overview of how some high-temperature markers perform under extreme heat: ua-cam.com/video/xlphHOhVFeM/v-deo.html
You're actually totally right here. The glass horse is a traditional demonstration piece made in Murano for tourists when they visit studios. The horse they make then is made from a single piece of glass and without reheating. The finished result has way more grace to it.@@linaribaldi3829
Dear Lina, indeed there are many more artist than can make better horses in the world, however we are here to appreciate EVERY masters that are able to this very rare job.
