What a wonderful interview. This is both very clear and heartening. I wish Dr. Schechter could be cloned into every major medical center so that the cycle of ignorance about NCD could be stopped and so much unnecessary suffering could be prevented. He has the credentials to make his information believable, which is so essential for the growth and spread of his knowledge.

I'm trying to get as many of these experienced docs in the mindbody world on my channel as I can so people have the evidence they need to move forward with these techniques! I'm hopeful that these approaches will spread and more practitioners will use them.

    This interview is so insightful.
I am from India and suffer from VM and PPPD.
I loved it when Dr Schechter called it out as a medical fad and there is a cure for it through mind body methods.
These interviews are like a ray of hope.
Any chances of getting Alan Gordon in here as well for an interview?
I have read his book, the way out and found it quite insightful.
And thanks again Dr Arthur, there is a lack of awareness about VM and PPPD in countries like India, your videos are like a ray of hope

I loved this interview. Thank God for humans like you. I just started your healing chronic dizziness course. Not sure what else to do. It’s been over 1 year & I’m becoming frustrated. I clicked on the course instead of scheduling another doctor appt. to hear the same thing again.
Honestly, I had some fear and denial behind signing up for your course.

Wow 🤩 Two absolutely amazing people in one interview. Thank you!
I found Dr Schecter incredibly helpful early on in my journey.
The moment I’m watching and listening to you both, I had such a sense of calm that came over me.
It’s incredible the things I’ve learned about the link of everything, pain/dizziness/symptoms/ TMS etc. I just wish there were more people like both of you, especially in the UK!!
I made sure I wasn’t part of any ‘support’ groups and tried to not Google too much but that’s hard!! Googling 100% doesn’t help though!!

This makes a lot of sense and I'll have to read the book. I'm just not sure exactly were to start besides journaling and getting my feelings out.

I've been watching your videos for a few months now after getting hit with dizziness a few months back. I am a huge hypochondriac and have spent longer then I can remember googling and being stuck on reddit all day. I'm working through getting better and have stopped googling. My first panic attack was when I was about 17 years old and I have had anxiety since (now 29) it all stopped when I was on sertraline but was really hard whilst my body got used to the medication and I stopped them a year later due to feeling better. I have had so many physical symptoms it would take me all day to write down and now I'm stuck with dizziness.. shortly after stopping the medication it all came rushing back but everytime ive tried different medication my body now over reacts and i get server side effecrs amplifying my mad symptoms..I've had blood tests done but no mri but I'm convinced it's what you disgus nothing more considering I've always had some sort of symptom going on. I'm hopeful your videos will cure me and will continue watching.. many thanks 🙏

The top neurologist in my state diagnosed me with MDDS and vestibular migranes but I strongly believe it's PPPD. and no one/nothing has been able to help except me trying to tell myself I'm fine and living my life. But my anxiety is still at an all time high and I'm occasionally dizzy when I get super anxious/stressed, I'm constantly exhausted, and just feel like a shell of my old self. I don't know what else to do.

@The Steady Coach this was really helpful and thank you for explaining how all these different terms can mean the same thing. And the stuff about VMs!! One thing I’d love to understand better is how ACES, and having a certain TypeT temperament creates the symptoms in the first place. I understand the fear of the symptom perpetuating more symptoms but how did my early trauma create chronic headaches which led to neck pain and trapezius tightness and pelvic floor burning and restless leg and PPPD, VM etc etc? How did the train get started and why have I been getting more types of symptoms??? Now THAT would be an interesting and helpful
Podcast for me! (Not that the other ones aren’t-But this is a burning question)

Great interview! I would love to know more about the research behind the effectiveness of handwritten journaling versus typing versus voice memos. I ask because I've journaled by hand for about a year, but recently started doing some video journaling as well, and sometimes I find that video journaling offers me a fuller-body release of emotions and stress whereas handwritten journaling sometimes leaves me more physically tense than I was before, despite writing as honestly as possible about my feelings. I'm wondering if anyone else has thoughts on this or has noticed something similar!

Great question, Tyler. I believe Dr. Schechter was relating to the very sad reality that once a patient gets that diagnosis, doctors often place the person in the categories of "cannot be helped," "difficult patient" and "lifelong disability." Talk about a nocebo. It's very sad.

Thank you for this great interview. I would like to ask about something I've been struggling with - chronic dizziness for nearly 6 months. However, for the past 8 months, I've also been dealing with DPDR (Depersonalization and Derealization Disorder). Initially, I thought my DPDR was a type of dizziness due to experiencing occasional issues throughout my life that I attributed to dizziness. After having a panic attack 8 months ago, I visited the doctor's office. Both my test results and MRI came back normal. Consequently, they suggested that I seek psychological help. As a result, I began therapy and was subsequently diagnosed with DPDR and anxiety . Since chronic dizziness could be caused by anxiety, I've been wondering if all of these issues are connected ? Thank you

    Please...
I just cant place my reaction it seems...i try 1 more time...
Dr Yonit, i am.wondering..do you see/ hear many people who suffer from pppd, that they also report eye teaming issues? (visual skills like divergence/ convergence etc). I am really curious. Because it seems that when optomologist measure delay in visual skills the cause can be brain/ tissue damage, or since childhood issues with eyes, OR burnout issues. If burnout is the cause, They say it is the brain that is not processing the information well to send and control signals from brain to eye musles. Now, i have these issues as well as pppd. And now i am so so much wondering: when you speak of people who feel delay issues, processing issues, trouble with busy visual stimuli, is the cause than also: visual skills that are not properly processed in the brain? And so i mean, when these people would visit the optometrist...would he than also measure a delay issue when looking at the different visual skills of this person?
I dont know if you understand my question...
But it is not that i want to know if it affects my pppd
I just would like to know if my visual skills delay that is measured by the optometrist, is the "same" as what you speak of, when you are explaining us (in this video) about processing problem of the eyes!
So, long story short...is this than ALL because of a brain that is not working as normal, due to anxiety, stress, fatigue because of all the pppd stress for years...
REALLY hope you can answer this one...it is a BIG stumbling block for me to get over my fear for the eye stuff.
    🙏🙏🙏🙏b

We're doing our best based on the latest neuroscience. Predictive coding is pretty well accepted across the field at this point. Pretty sure we're on track, but we'll likely be proven wrong in many ways in the next 10 years.
